what's interesting about Paul?

Paul A. Engelmayer is the Partner-in-Charge of WilmerHale's 175-lawyer New York office. He is also a partner in the firm's Litigation and Controversy and Securities Departments and a member of several different practice groups, including the Investigations and Criminal Litigation and the Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation groups. Mr. Engelmayer's practice consists of, among other things, representing institutional and individual clients in often high-profile white-collar criminal cases and securities-enforcement investigations. Mr. Engelmayer also has an active appellate practice, in which he represents clients in appellate and Supreme Court litigation. Mr. Engelmayer had an auspicious beginning to his legal career twenty-odd years ago. He clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and impressively, was a law clerk for the Honorable Thurgood Marshall at the Supreme Court. Judicial clerkships are incredibly competitive. A clerkship at the Supreme Court is the rarest of honors. With such an impressive beginning, it is little wonder Mr. Engelmayer has gone on to have such a distinguished career. At the U.S. Department of Justice, he argued cases in front of the Supreme Court on behalf of the government, has lectured at Harvard Law School and been quoted in The New York Times and The Washington Post on various legal issues. Not surprisingly, Mr. Engelmayer has also been widely recognized by his peers, as evidenced by his listing in numerous legal publications as a leading attorney in his field.
