Science instructor Lynn McCain brings learning to life for her fifth grade students at J.E. Turner Elementary School. Using the latest technology in her classroom--including LCD Projectors and a SMART Board--McCain introduces new lessons to her students. Less fancy items such as soft drink bottles also come in handy: her students use them to grow their own ecosystems. The best tool for learning, however, is an expert in the field, and McCain's thorough knowledge of the subject matter helps her students through the most difficult lessons. Outside of her classroom, McCain is just as committed to education. She spends her free time serving on school committees and is the grade-level team leader for her school. In 2006, this hard-working educator received a prestigious Milken Educator Award for her success in the classroom. McCain's students, however, are the real winners, as this outstanding educator has led them time and again to successful test scores.
