Mark Bennett is a criminal defense attorney and author of the popular, award-winning blog, "Defending People". An informative, often-anecdotal blog that makes for an excellent read for legal professionals in any specialization, Bennett's blog has gotten frequent mention on other legal blogger's websites as well. He has earned praise from the likes of fellow legal blogger Scott Greenfield, and has earned mention from bloggers Mark Draughn and attorney Murray Newman. Even more notably, Bennett's blog was recognized by the American Bar Association's ABA Journal on their annual "Blawg 100" list of the top blogs in 2008 and was also their reader's choice for top Crime Law blog. Bennett is well known in the legal blogging world and has also been interviewed by the popular blogger and podcaster Charon QC. As an attorney, it seems that Bennett does not lack for endorsements. In fact, the website Avvo.com listed 14 such endorsements from fellow attorneys, to go along with an impressive 14 positive reviews from past clients, who mentioned Bennett's wealth of knowledge and responsiveness as being key attributes. The same site also rated him a "superb" 10.0. Yahoo business listings also show 3 positive ratings from past clients as well, though it should be noted that, strangely enough, two of those reviews were verbatim copies of reviews that are also on Avvo's site. Nonetheless, there appears to be plenty of acclaim to be found online for Mark Bennett as both blogger and defense attorney.
