Technically speaking, William Randy Scott could be classified as a "middle school science teacher", but like many things Randy, that definition simply does not tell the whole story. William teaches at the P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School, an institution well noted for its innovative approach to education. Think of it as a combination school/think tank/laboratory where teachers and students are encouraged to be as creative as possible in finding new ways to learn and grow. So William is really a researcher and free-thinker as well as teacher of 5th-9th grade sciences. He is comfortable around children of all ages, even if he's not entirely comfortable speaking public. See, among the many hats that William wears, 'motivational speaker' is one of them; he moonlights as a speaker brought in by local districts to welcome new teachers and get staffs pumped up about upcoming school years. To alleviate the nervousness of speaking in front of people, William will sometimes encourage his audience members to take off their shirts-- when he leads the charge and takes his off, a t-shirt underneath spells out his slogan and philosophy about teaching, learning, and life perfectly: Fear Is Not A Factor!
