John Frank Barg is a founding partner of Barg, Coffin, Lewis and Trapp. Prior to his joining a private law practice , he was with the United States Department of Justice for a decade. He has been an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and in the United States Civil Litigation office in California, he was the Chief of Civil Litigation. John Frank Barg has had criminal and civil litigation experience for more than 30 years. His work in environmental litigation has included cases such as: Clean Water Act, Cost recovery, Clean Air Act, and environmental insurance coverage cases. John Frank Barg has been honored with "One of the Best Lawyers In America", in the environmental law category. San Francisco Magazine named him a Superlawyer every year since 1994. In Bay Area Lawyer magazine, he was named one of the Bay's top environmental lawyers. John Frank Barg also served in the military as a Naval Officer in the Philippines and Vietnam. He is also a retired naval reserve commander. Some more of John Frank Barg's shining achievements involve him lecturing at Environmental Law Institute Conferences, and he serves the federal courts by providing arbitration, mediation, and other forms of ADR to litigants in federal court.
