If you're going to have role models, some would argue that there are few better than Jim Acock's. Under his profile on the Baywood Building & Design, Inc. website it simply says, "When I was a kid they told me Jesus was a carpenter." Well there you go. Apparently the career he now holds is thanks to whoever filled him in on that little secret about Jesus' professional life. I wonder if that also accounts for Jim's interest into bettering human life -not to mention the benefits to the Earth- by implementing green building into his work. Regardless, Acock still holds the title that has been ensuring customers of a builder's knowledge and ability in designing and creating structures that have a smaller negative impact on the natural environment as well as having proven health benefits for the occupants by using materials that have little or no harmful chemicals. This illustrious title is the one given from the Build It Green organization and only Acock and his colleague John Van Arsdall hold it at Baywood Building & Design. That's right; Acock has the bragging rights that come with being a Certified Green Building Professional. That's something not even Jesus could say.
