A supernova of positive energy, intelligent self-awareness and mind-blowing mind/body talent, Stephanie Paul is an explosive person who keeps her pockets full of awesome and her head full of soul. Stephanie is a rhythmic prodigy at her core: she calls intricate rhythms “tasty” and feels rhythm deep down in her body, in a place that most people have never accessed. A dancer, teacher, choreographer and artistic director, she has thoroughly integrated herself into the artistic lifestyle just a few short years out of college. With the help of close friends, she has built a rhythm/dance ensemble, Be The Groove, from the ground up and into an “explosive firestorm” (Chicago Tribune). Her determination and tremendous smile have helped establish this fledgling group in the dance community of Chicago in just two short years. Having a phenomenally electric stage presence, she allows her killer confidence bleed into her daily life, yet never allows her identity to be overrun by pretension. In other words, she delicately dabbles in the aura of a rockstar, but keeps her feet planted solidly on the ground. In fact, Stephanie’s feet are planted so firmly on the ground, that I’m sure that with each step, she influences the Earth’s rotation. Her teaching style and dance fundamentals are founded in a deep and low sense of weight and energy, so it is no surprise that when you speak to her, you get the sense that her words are coming from far within. Not to mention that her words can move mountains. They can inspire and encourage. And they can stir profound artistic inspirations that would otherwise atrophy under the steady lack of manifestation. She realizes visions and puts them on stage. While her depth of vitality and entrepreneurial prowess also brings with it a sometimes impetuous ego, one nevertheless walks away from an encounter with Stephanie feeling fastidiously appreciated and humbly revitalized.
