With the internet on beck and call for everyone, it is surprising to meet someone who understands that all this wealth of knowledge fails to explain the quirks that make a person come off as intelligent or charming. A great example of this would be Kenneth Bonamo. If one decides to delve into his past, they would find out that he “holds a bachelor of arts degree in foreign languages and literatures from the University of Delaware, where he majored in Russian and minored in history. He also holds a master's degree in educational administration from Kean University in New Jersey.” Perhaps if they cared, they might discover that he taught at Staten Island Technical High School for several years before finally coming in 2008 to one of New York City’s best high schools, Townsend Harris in Flushing, Queens as its principal. Alright, so the internet provides the biographical facts about what Kenneth Bonamo has done and where he has been working. But what does it say about him as a person? Zilch. In pictures Principal Bonamo towers over those near him in both height and girth. No one would blame you for mistaking him as a very daunting and intimidating figure. Well no one who did not know him. In reality, Kenneth Bonamo is not a daunting figure. Sure he is huge, but in all honesty he is a giant teddy bear. As principal of an esteemed high school, one would expect him to be very uptight and anal about rules and regulations. And he is, when it comes to the safety of his students. However, this does not deter from the fact that when it comes down to it, Principal Bonamo can be as much fun as the high school students under his care. He radiates happiness and authority in a strange mix that in nearly indescribable. His love for his job and his students makes him a wonderful person. Once, to take the Assistant Principal of Science and two of her students who were receiving awards in Albany, the 6 foot plus man squished into a small car driving both students and teacher, to save them hardships of traveling from queens. Amazingly caring and considerate, Principal Bonamo spends his free time roaming hallways and checking up on students and any issues they may have. One cannot come across how wonderful of a man Kenneth Bonamo is simply by googling him, but I guess after this review they may come close.
