He may have come to his current position in a rather non-traditional way, but Trevor Stafford now works towards building and remodeling homes in a “green” fashion in northern California. Stafford started out in New York City after receiving a MFA degree in sculpture at Bard College and he began working as a studio assistant for the artist Ursula Von Rydingsvard. Long story short, Stafford started to reflect structural elements in his art as he traveled around and worked with famous artists and professionals that led to his desire to create creatively designed “housing” pieces. Later he left working for artists to head in his own direction and found work at several venues in and around New York including Socrates Sculpture Park, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the headquarters of Bloomberg LP in Manhattan. Concurrently Stafford expanded as a professional by venturing into the carpentry field. This later placed him as a manager of construction sites. Sustainable construction later caught his eye and now he works for the green building company FR James Construction in Mill Valley, California.
