How's this for your realtor? A guy who played NCAA football at Iowa and had a short stint with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. He evidently didn't appear in a game, though someone named "Ed Podolak" (his brother?) played parts of nine successful seasons with the KC Chiefs. At any rate, where Podolak didn't make it in football, he's doing it in real estate, which, if you can believe him, he claims he finds far more exciting. Like so many of his Chaffin Light colleagues, Podolak moved to Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley resort area after falling in love with the region during a vacation, and he's set himself up nicely. In 2007, Podolak was awarded the Aspen Board of Realtors' "Realtor of the Year" award, specializing in the area's luxury condos. But what I like best about Podolak, like so many Chaffin Light realtors, is that he's not *just* a luxury agent. He's not your stereotypical suit-wearing multimillion-dollar seller who's head is so far up his arse you're not even dealing with a person anymore. Much of Podolak's business still depends on moderately-priced condos, meaning his perspective is still that of the "Everyman" he still works with. And to me, that's one of the most important things to look for in a realtor. Someone who is approachable and down to earth.
