Given the insults conservatives are hurling at congressman Ahn "Joseph" Cao these days for being the lone Republican supporter of the current healthcare bill, it's hard to believe John Boehner once called him "the future of the Republican party." Boehner may have been right, however, since Republicans have been struggling to gain a foothold in national politics and Cao appears to be making good on a promise to put politics aside for the good of the people of his district, which happens to lie in an area particularly hard-hit by Hurricane Katrina. The latest buzz about congressman Cao, however, comes from the left, with bloggers claiming that conservatives are attacking members of their own party with racist slurs. Cao himself has remained quiet about the messages he has received on his Twitter account, but democrats are responding with fervor.
