Greenshape acted in consultants in the construction of Sidwell Friends School, the country's first K-12 school to be certified LEED Platinum. The school's sustainble design features include a green roof and a constructed wetland that helps treat waste water, as well as energy-efficient heating and cooling, and a solar panel (photovoltaic) array. Ms. Amdur is noted for her personal expertise and involvement in the field of green building design; she has an active association with the U.S. Green Builing Council, and was a go-to expert for the committee behind the D.C. Green Building Act in 2006. She assisted the U.S Consulate in Mumbai India to achieve a sustainable standard, resulting in an award from the Bureau of Overseas Building Operations.
