Morgan Chu has more degrees than he does letters in his name. He received his B.A, M.A, and Ph.D from UCLA, his M.S.L. from Yale, and his law degree (J.D.) from Harvard. After exhausting academia, Mr. Chu found his way to Irell & Manella LLP and has been a partner there for over 25 years where he practices business and intellectual property (IP) law. Mr. Chu has had considerable success as a litigator in these very complex practice areas. In cases where he acted as plaintiff's lead trial counsel, he has won over $640 million in jury awards for his clients and, in one case, achieved a settlement for the plaintiff of more than $1 billion. Needless to say, Mr. Chu has received considerable recognition. Among other honors, he has been listed as one of "the 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers" and one of the "Top Ten Trial Lawyers" in the nation by the National Law Journal.
