Natalie Ginty is a budding conservative activist and student at the University of Iowa. It was Natalie's decision to stage a protest of President Obama's visit to her campus to speak about the recently passed health care legislation that catapaulted Natalie into the limelight, resulting in local newspaper articles and a spot on CNN's daily list of Intriguing People. I am overjoyed that young people, no matter their political slant, are making their voices heard. My only gripe with Natalie is that, well, she's a bit of a liar. "I believe 73% of Americans disapprove, and [the health care bill] passed anyway. We are here to represent the 73% that did not want it to pass." I would sorely like to see Natalie substantiate that claim; virtually every national poll done found the public split 50/50. Even FOX News, whose polls tend to be overly conservative, found only 55% of Americans disapproved of the legislation. Which is a perfectly large proportion to protest for. But lying to the press to prove a point makes Natalie no better than the supposedly 'corrupt' politicians that she despises.
