In 1994, Andrew P. Ausonio took over the Castroville-based construction company his father had begun building before he was even born. He had begun working at company at age 13. Now, almost 14 years later, Ausonio Construction Inc. has 23 full-time employees, an estimated $30 million a year in business and a stellar reputation acquired after completing commercial, residential, ag/industrial, medical, educational, office and public use projects in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. One of his most notable projects was the construction of the Chartwell School campus in Seaside, California which earned the company The Constructor Award for Innovation in Construction Materials and Techniques from the AGC of California. The project also garnered over a half dozen green awards including the USGBC Certified LEED Platinum (highest level). The company has been written up in numerous publications, business journals and has been featured on KION 46 morning news segment on Green Building. Mr. Ausonio has certainly achieved the highest standard of excellence in the industry and there are more awards of recognition to his credit than there is space here to report.
