David Phelps, Partner, leads the Real Estate Practice Group in the Orange County Office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP. Mr. Phelps has also been resident in the firm's Tokyo and Los Angeles offices. Mr. Phelps is a commercial real estate lawyer who represents international and domestic clients in the venture formation, equity financing, construction and permanent financing, acquisition, disposition, construction, development, and leasing of the following property types: office, multi-unit residential (luxury apartments and affordable housing), hotel, industrial, medical office, commercial and shopping center projects. Mr. Phelps is experienced in multimillion dollar complex joint venture transactions and has particular experience in representing both owners/developers and equity investors in structuring complex joint ventures for acquisition and development of individual and multiple properties and for fund and portfolio transactions.
