I just love anything that has a sour flavour when it comes to weed so this stocked my interest when I fist saw it.
Now if you’re a full time toker or you use cannabis for medical reasons like me, I always try to find out and research about a strain that has me intrigued, due diligence really to make sure that the cannabis I buy has all the benefits that can assist with dealing with my chronic pain. Before my back injury I was smoking recreationally so it didn’t really bother me what strain I smoked as long as it got me stoned! Nowadays I smoke purely for medical reasons and getting stoned is a very very nice beneficial secondary effect lol!
Imagine that, a stoner smokes for 23 years then has 4years of horrific back injuries and multiple spinal surgeries and now only smokes weed for its medicinal effects and getting stoned is a byproduct hahaha ; )
There’s not much information about this strain online so it’s gonna be fun trying to guess the flavours, aromas and effects. Challenge accepted haha!
Anyway, back to this little gem, as usual DIUK’s stealth is on point with no odour and when I opened that pack the smell exploded out! Wow what a nice smell, it has a sour vibe (you don’t say!) like guava and NYC sour diesel mmmmm I love that sourness, it also has just a slight cookie undernote - it’s only a slight note though. There’s also a zkittles kind of aroma to it too and little kush too and I’m assuming that those notes are from the z-cube. All together combined, the aroma is really good. I hope it tastes like it smells!
The visuals on this strain is no joke too! The buds are very tight, dense and very solid, multiple shades of greens covered in light orange hairs and a really nice sticky coating of tricomes and THC! The various colours on the bud look great and as you rotate the bud in the light, it has a little sparkle to it and glistens. What’s even more impressive is that the flowers come with a little mylar bag to pop the bud in, with a nice graphic on the front. Nice touch that being supplied a carry bag for it, not many UK strains you buy come with such a bag and I think DIUK are stepping up the game - it’ll be good to see the DIUK brand on them as well as say the growers, adds that extra premium to the products.
Time for a joint! Break up those solid buds and the buds are proper dense, time to grind, oooh the aroma is very good, sweet, sugary, sour fruit, a hint of pine and a subtle kushy background. The one thing that stands out is almost a sweet and sour guava, grapefruit and lime flavour and you know what did pop up online about this strain? Well soursop is an actual fruit! No bullshit! Google it, you’ll see its a fruit about the size of a large orange that’s green with spikes on it! It’s from the Americas and it explains the guava notes that you pick up, I’m a big fan of these sour tropical flavours of guava, grapefruit and the likes it’s such a unique flavour and if done properly, it can be the star, or it can compliment other flavour profiles perfectly.
How on earth do you get a plant to produce a bud that smells like a tropical fruit! It’s mental but there are some highly skilled and extremely talented growers around and the UK is really starting to make waves in the cannabis trade and DIUK seem to be in bed with a good amount of these growers.
For me, so far DIUK have absolutely killed the game in 2021, the choices that they’ve sourced is crazy and the quality of those choices is really damn good, I think they need to change the ‘D’ in DIUK to Dispensary!
Everything I’ve had this year has been dispensary level quality and some are the top of the top shelf! The one strain I can’t get outta my head is the mac10 that bud was stupendous and my smoke of the year so far, absolutely barn storming that was! Better than the Cali I’ve had this year easily and a bonafide favourite.
Back to this soursop, you know what it smells like to me when it’s ground up? Smells like sour watermelon nerds sweets but with the ganja twang lol! The guava smell or should I say the soursop flavour is really strong which has to be from the original diesel lineage.
Joint rolled, spark up and inhale.......... and exhale................ ah! Oooh! Yeah that’s nice, no that’s better than nice, mmmm fuk yeah that’s a tasty smoke. It’s sweet, sugary, sour soursop, guava, grapefruit, limes, diesel and then you get the skunky hits. This is a real flava chasers smoke for sure, gorgeous flavours that smokes like it smells if not more so. It’s like a thick smooth sweet tropical skunk smoke that is a pleasure to smoke. The flavours that you taste are a concentrated version of how it smells and it has a nice thick, sweet n sour with delicate fruits on the exhale, mmmmmmm nom nom nom!
The effects of this strain took me a bit by surprise! So as I’m toking away on it I’m not really getting a huge head stone, don’t get me wrong it’s there alright let me explain more, it’s a mellow head high to start with and Smoking it I notice that this is hitting my body a lot and it’s only after I finish the joint is when the fun happens. I stand up as normal to go in and as soon as I stand up that body stone really sets in. This strain for me anyway has a heavy body effect, when toking the joint I can feel my back tingling - that’s where I suffer most pain but I always get a tingling feeling when I smoke a strain that’s body heavy. So I’m back at my desk working away feeling like I’m wrapped up in a cloud, the pain in my back is no more and kinda feels numb, perfect! After half an hour the full effects hit me, the head high has my head feeling like it’s on a duvet, soft and mushy. The body high is superb and I’m fully relaxed, chilled out and pain free. This I’d class a sleeper creeper, it starts out light and then just gets stronger and stronger. Just to bare in mind I only run pure flower joints, no tobacco just 2-3 grams of premium quality bud, so most think that it’s gonna destroy the rest of your day with a joint that size! But for me it’s medicinal needs that warrant the use like that and for the length of time that it gives me pain relief.
This I think is a new strain, I’ve never heard of it and can’t find much info about it, so it was a treat to find out how this bud was going to perform and that the strain had a potent effect on my body.
The thing that really shines with this bud is it’s flavour/ terp profile. This is a real flavour chaser that brings absolutely gorgeous flavours together and then gives you strong medicinal effects. It’s well tasty.
Gotta give credit where it’s due, DIUK have sourced another fantastic product with this strain and it’s a pleasure to smoke too, big up DIUK and much love.
I popped up the pics before but f**k it I don’t care, this is gorgeous bud ; )
