If I may, I am also based in Ireland and my rate of success is unfortunately 1 in 3. I am a fucking nobody so I guess I have been unlucky. In my experience, the smallest the amount the more chance to arrive. It seems Ireland is becoming difficult to get to: while it is true lots of stuff arrives, it is also plenty of people complaining about their package being seized, receiving love letters from customs, and so on... some claim that they have x-ray machines in one of the largest irish post center and it is difficult to pass those. Stealth is of course very important (no smell, at least for humans - dogs can still detect it seems), but IMHO I would add extra layers of camouflage (which would make the packing process more laborious so more costly, still): can a small piece of electronic junk be added in, or a pair of keys, a lego man, anything that would get the attention of anyone monitoring or touching the envelop away from the actual stone or flowers? maybe it is just a rant... i am just pissed most of my order did not arrived!
