Dark on Netflix. German show about time travel set in a village where kids keep going missing every 33 years. Stunning production values, really intricately plotted, three series, all ties together. Loved it. Has an English dub but the German audio with subtitles is best.
I almost pissed myself with laughter watching the first episode as I watched the trailer but wasn't really for how out there this really is. A must watch for any sci fi and gaming fan or if you have a sick sense of humour like me :)
Orphan black! one of my favourites.. the wire.. Russian doll..cynical,funny. end of the fucking world. Money heist.. prison break..cleverly written. Better call Saul if you enjoyed breaking bad.
Rick and Morty and weed is my favourite combination. Snoop dog’s talk show on YouTube is hilarious to watch as-well. I find American horror story hilarious, but only when I’m high, otherwise it’s pretty terrifying lol.
Films : seven psychopaths is a must watch, requiem for a dream and pulp fiction, all time faves. and I did write a detailed review and much more but it was deleted :/
If you want a Change and a Tons of one line bombs to drop at work or with your mates there is only one place to go "Letter Kenny" it will almost make you want to live there 10ply/Sally/Hard No and Bonny McMurryyyyyyyyyyyyyy
And if you want some of the best swearing on telly "The Thick of IT" / In The Loop You will never watch a MP without Laughing again The Thick of it is almost a Documatary Malcom Tucker is a Best name calling every "Fuckbob Shitpants"
Sorry about the spelling I am just dislexick @is there a strain that will help with this???
Hey man some good series I watched recently was: The Originals Vikings Battle star galactica (the remake series) The man in the high castle The Magicians Got a load more but too stoned to list!!! Hope that helps a little 8)
To any one who likes comedies don't be put off What We Do in the Shadows, it's vampires but it's not really a "vampire" type show.... it's really funny when high and the second series has just come out on iplayer.
Since it hasn’t been mentioned here , it only proves how massively underrated Wilfred is . Had great laughs :) U.S. version of an Australian cult sitcom about a meek young man and a pot-smoking talking dog named Wilfred (actually actor Jason Gann in a dog suit, whom everyone else sees as just a dog). Won’t spoilt it anymore
The Wire The Ozark Altered Carbon Arrested Developement People Just Do Nothing Peep Show Trailer Park Boys Big Mouth Fargo Life On Mars Dark Tourist The Wolves Of Yellowstone Utopia It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia Homeland The Killing Punisher The End Of The Fucking World
This is what I can think of right now; definitely more to add. If anyone wants a little review/opinon or rundown on any of these shows let me know, more than happy. Also let me know what you're in the mood for, or usually like to watch and I can fire back with recommendations
The Wire - best thing ever written. Slow burner due to complication of story, but it is relatable as the war on drugs does not have a start or end to it, and street dealing doesn't just start, therefore you are immediately immersed in the story without even realising. Only figured that out the second time watching it. Also some great visual metaphors throughout. Also note there is no cue music to instigate feelings. All music is from source, i.e. car radio, night club. Only cue music is when Avon enters the lowrisers for the first time
The Ozark - Although breaking bad is good, it's not worth the hype. This is the older cooler brother of breaking bad. Calculated and intense at times. Story is always moving forward with real character progression
Altered Carbon - Absolutely fantastic sci-fi with great visuals and a great story line. Really left me itching to read the book, and I'm not a sci-fi fan
Arrested Development - Intelligent comedy with so much layered jokes you can watch this five times and still find punch lines you never noticed before
People Just Do Nothing - Threw this on not expecting much which is perhaps why I found it to be so good. Off the wall characters made completely believable by the actors playing the parts. Excellent idea, excellent execution.
Peep Show - This is a classic, you need to watch this
Trailer Park Boys - Another classic everyone here should be able to relate to
Big Mouth - Great for a background watch, but really funny and does take you back to your teenage years at times, haha
Fargo - Beautiful cinematography, great story captured very close to the original film. Billy Bob absolutely shines in this role in season one
Life On Mars - Made in early naughties, but just as relevant as today
Dark Tourist - good short run of a different kind of travel show. The kind of travel I like too
The Wolves Of Yellowstone - Nature documentary that has a story line Walt Disney would be proud of. Really makes you realise the balance of nature
Utopia - Such an underrated British TV series
It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia - Great zany show about dysfunctional friends who live in their own world, and drink in their own pub causing all kinds of ridiculous antics
Homeland - Great series that will always have you wondering what, or who is next
The Killing - Only recommend the first seasons. It drags you along on the witch hunt convincing you you know the answer
Punisher - About time they stuck to the gritty comic. Refreshing that this i not aimed at kids and fattening wallets.
The End Of The Fucking World - Two out there teens who decide to adventure together with, maybe, disastrous consequences
If you're into Sci-fi I'd highly recommend Altered Carbon on Netflix. Really cool story and visuals. I seen somebody recommended Ozark, excellent as well. If you like animation and feel like a laugh give Rick and Morty a watch, The Midnight Gospel is also new to Netflix but really trippy / funny in my opinion. Happy watching!
End of the fucking world is really good. Strange and offbeat which I like. With some characters that don’t give a fuck. And it’s British and very relatable (even though it’s about a lad that thinks he’s a psychopath haha).
- Happy! - two seasons so far - year of the rabbit - avenue 5 - silly, but really reflects the reality (nobody knows what they are doing literally). - american gods - miracle workers - self made: inspired by the life of madam cj walker - when they us - man, this one is strong. - for life
Yeah I agree, I liked BB a lot but I came to it a bit late and like UKgrower hearing the hype maybe expected too much. Better call Saul I didn’t expect much of at all, didn’t think it’d get past Series 1 but now I think it’s better than BB.
The much anticipated delivery of Gelato Dawg has landed! :D There was a lot of concern regarding RB and deliveries (totally justified worries!!!) And I would just like to confirm for those waiting, I placed My order on the 11th and it arrived Saturday 18th. This is not normal for RB in My experience, and I will go on to expalin why I think there has been delays, when talking about the stealth. However, if you are still waiting on RB mail...I hope this gives you some faith that its coming. (Or RB has responded to you at the very least!)
So! The package arrived in its normal outer stealth. Not going to describe...but repeat RB customers will know what I mean. To my surprise, inside that was another of the same packaging...Then THREE Mylar bags. Needless to say, I suspect there has been some compromise on security with RB. They seem to have gone to extra lengths here to make this parcel discreet. So I would lean towards thinking that this compromise has lead to delays. Hopefully, all is sorted now. My package arrived...and I see others are now receiving theirs, so I guess the ball is rolling again?? Time will tell!
Right then, the juicy bits ;)
Gelato Dawg -
Once I had battled My way through the most rewarding game of solo pass the parcel ever, I broke into the inner core and saw some pretty large, but rather dry looking nugs! On appearance, I wasnt too sure I had received the strain id paid for...and im still not 100% convinced...but I will go on to talk about that in a moment. The smell of this strain is deep, fruity and a little earthy. Floral, Piney tones with a whisp of berry. Quite nice. A little muted but I find that can often be the case with these hybrids. A definite reminder of My time in spain, smoking their version of Gelato 33. But perhaps no presence of "Dawg" anywhere to be seen or smelled! Hence My suspicion that this may not be "Gelato Dawg" as described. We all know that Chem Daddy dominates....hmmm. I stand to be corrected, but I am particularly familiar with both of these strains, separately. Nevertheless!....
The taste is incredible! Exactly what I expect of Gelato 33! Spot on! A little disappointed im not getting that Dawgy Dawg double up...but hey ho! This is tickling all of My fancies! The flavour is very floral. Perfumey, but in a good way. Very flavoursome! Those berry notes are particularly fruity on the exhale. The smoke is very clean too. Very well cured. Would have loved a little more moisture, but its okay! I just will avoid the vape for this one!
The buds are hard, dense and very crispy dry. A little like cali weed. But the dryness is again, something that suggests maybe a lack of Dawg. I can't see Gelato 33 being the Dominant character to this hybrid...but again, I don't know it all...I'm just going off My own experience and knowledge. The size of the buds is to be noted, also! They are so big! Not squashed, prefectly preserved and a fine example of Gelato 33! Tightly packed and littered with curly orange hairs! Mmmpf! Haha. Not much in the way of crystal (again...not Dawg-like) and a little stalk is present. I think they have made up for that by sending .3 over though.
The high is as euphoric as you would like! Floaty, happy and generally pleasant. But don't be fooled! Even if you can't agree with My accute tastes, you will be bowled over by this powerhouse! Something I already knew and was excited to re-experience with #33!! This strain has literally had me seeing things in the past!! (And making an utter fool of myself haha) so I can assure you, there will be zero disappointment for both novices and long term tokers! I judge a weeds strength on how quick i smoke 3 joints. 3 in a row - not upto much. 2 - yeah were good. 1 with pauses...wow! And this is one with pauses!! Onto number 3 now and becoming painfully aware that this review is getting lengthy XD
I really like this one. And I have a feeling you will too! I hope RB are back on their normal game now, and I hope My review has reassured you, somewhat.
I am very happy with My purchase, to spite delays. I feel reassured with the new levels of stealth and in all fairness, I only waited a week, but I know others have been waiting longer. I wish RB would be more attentive with their customers messages. It would save so much stress and the snowball effect that happens SO fast on the threads here. Definitely room for improvement there RB! But all round, you have always provided good quality weed at the best prices. I believe you are safe when trusting your money with RB and you will get a great product. This one in particular!
Would Recommend!! A ++ for sure!! (Not sure about the 3rd + haha)
I hope you have enjoyed My review and I hope it helps you with your future purchases, here on LB!
So the batch I got is very very nice.definitely a nice split between the 33 and the dawg.cured really well and the density of the buds are calisque.Really tastes smooth and peppery. All the dawg strains I've got from RB are spot on with all different varying qualities to each one.even RB's star dawg is nice to revisit occasionally.Just got some of his 24k and I've being doing cocktails with GD and I think mind/brain has pasted by pluto about an hour ago : ) highly recommend this strain
Thanks for the review you swung it for me I'm going to order now. Find quite a bit of bud lacking the oomph when it comes to getting high. This looks just the ticket. I love the way you judge the strength of the weed (I do it also!) many thanks.
Nice review PF, sums it up perfectly. I’m getting more Gelato undertones today, but they seem to be more subtle for me. Can’t place what this really is, can’t detect any dawg either. Reminds me of really great Northern Lights back in the day. Had one this morning and had the giggles good style so it’s a banger for sure effects-wise! Super value for money in comparison to other vendors.
Great review PF and the buds looks quality! The one man game of pass the parcel made me lol but good to know because extra stealth is always appreciated :D I was worried I was going to miss this one but a really good friend of mine offered to spot me enough for a saucy Q! Happy days and can't wait to try it xD
I smoke before every workout. Really beneficial apart from giving me slight anxiety in the gym occasionally lol.
If building muscle is your goal I’d recommend it. Smoking really helps with mind-muscle connection, which is a really important factor along with proper form in making sure you’re working the muscle correctly to get those gainz
I do this all the time. I find it brilliant for those moves you need to concentrate on esp. abdominals. Your pace is more methodical and it just seems to make a workout for effective. I am normally fucked afterwards but it's all irie my friend!
Dont let the slightly lazy trim put you off this bad boy. This weed is terpy as a motherfucker, stinks of the orange terpy dankness and tastes and smells great! Smokes clean. Keep the orange strains coming JJ!
Well as we are all in lockdown and likely to be tasered for talking to a tree anywhere in the world -- let's get all of you into a chat about films. Or monty python or similar. Hard to start but at least it might help the feelings of monotonous hours and cabin fever.
My best film is "The Life of Brian " - I have several stories associated with it cos I was at a private Christian boarding school. The shitiest place on earth it was but at least there were girls there too. I don't mind any jokes or innuendo- just keep them coming. Even stoned thoughts....... I was apparently a "Blasphemer" and god theres plenty more. So just write any shit you want to.
Actually I've just also watched "The Good the Bad and the ugly ", in a quest to watch something funny. It's not always funny I guess but I love the spaghetti westerns so I'm watching all of the ones I can find. Clint Eastwood is a fine actor. The music in these films is fantastic I just love them.
We watched Life of Brian the other day, first time in a while, & it's still a cracker! Very British, as you note; very sarcastic but not throwaway. EasyMe33 suggested Oldboy, which is a good movie but maybe not while stuck in isolation! I could waffle for ages about movies cos I love them but I'll throw in Twin Peaks the Return, if you can get it. That is a Mindbender & long enough to keep you both engaged physically and mentally, no matter how long this Covid thing lasts!!! Good luck to you all! ;-)
'Withnail and I' does it for me every time. I think when i first watched it, seeing these 2 guys (for example) drinking lighter fluid and offending country folk in the local tea rooms. Was so Simple really but executed so well. And so british! Twin Town is another favourite after I've had some strong smoke. T
I watched it for the first time ever during lockdown. Lived it. Lived the ending too. 'Withnail and I that is. I saw a lot of comedy and heard the simple minds classic again or rather watched live videos of it - :Dont you forget about me" .
I've heard of that film but never watched it. Is it a comedy?
I have to admit to watching the "Carry on " films too. I've been looking for more and more tv and film stuff to watch and I've just watched " carry on camping" and the one about hospitals -- carry on matron I think it was called, but my head gets boggled with staying at home. (With a ton of chocolate!!), all the time. Mind fog I think it's called. It took me a while this morning to realise it is in fact Monday. But yeah please share your stories about staying in and watching films / tv / getting mashed etc.
