I think the aging is a bit of an Indian tradition (or urban myth) where they allegedly say that hash less than a year old will cause madness🤷‍♂️

Exactly! And hash means so many things now. Back in the day between harvest, drying, preparation and transit I doubt I'd of smoked anything younger than 6 months.

Well said but honestly, cool dark cupboard sealed in air tight jars (kilners etc) and in grease paper, and it wont matter if it's a bit old, as long as the vendor stored it the same way lol

You are half right.

If stored incorrectly, THC does degrade to CBN but it's long process.

If you store it correctly, it can last 5 years without losing much potency.

The bit about your guy saying 1 year old is better is bollocks yeah. Maybe if he kept it in a freezer vac sealed for year, it cured extra, but if not it's just gonna have more CBN

Think you'd have to be storing the hash in very poor conditions for it to deteriorate that quickly

This article whilst about flower does mention the resin :

"Fairbairn and others (6) reported that carefully prepared herbal or resin cannabis products are reasonably stable for one to two years if stored in the dark at room temperature."


I certainly don't think aging is an added benefit, feels a bit like tesco selling you added water for succulence in ya bacon :P Mind you, i've never let any lay about for that long

Good storage helps but yes definitely deteriorates with age. 'Hashish' by Clarke reckons it can loss up to 40% potency in the fist year.
