Nas, BIG, Pac, Eazy, Cube, Rakim, Red & Meth, DMX (yikes now tough), Snoop, Wayne, Outkast - the list goes on man these dudes were all I heard growing up. Admittedly it has been a while since I've visited the decade, I'm about to take a trip back in time and get all nostalgic. Cheers. edit: can't forget Beasite Boys
Thanks for repping Funny Death lol, he's a great guy and very passionate. I've never actually known anyone who has listened to his stuff and not liked it. The best albums for me are Love letter to Japan, Magic is Real and Half Present.
I haven't for a long time but I used to love making beats on FL years ago, simple stuff though. I was thinking about getting a cheap midi keyboard and getting back in to it. Not making lame beats haha, just music.
That’s really cool, FL can be a lot of fun. Have you ever tried Reason? (Reason 11 is latest version). If you haven’t, it might possibly be what you’re looking for . It’s quite intuitive to use and it gives you an almost unlimited bank of seriously powerful sounds to play with. I like to run it through a daw and mix reason sounds and live instruments.
And yeah, it’s a just a hobby these days. I’m a guitarist first, played in a few bands, was never well known but did ok, have toured and been on radio etc. Looking back now though it all feels like another life. Still love music and being creative though.
Oh man, gotta get in touch with the inner Dre haha. But let me know if you check it out. I’d say Reason changed my home production game the way LB changed my weed game, it gave me access to so much. Oh and deffo not famous, never signed anything, but I seriously wish I had that one hit wonder.
Oh no man, it’s cool. Always a funny moment though, I’ve had a few like that myself. When I was in my teens I found it hindered creativity so I didn’t really mix the two but as I’ve got older and grown “more In touch with weed” I’ve found it enhances creativity massively or maybe I’m just really damn high but either way, it’s a lot of fun.
There seems to be quite a few songs with Royce tbh, it's a good album, but i need to have a re-listen myself, as some of the song's are bangers, but others i weren't feeling too much, but as em is a lyricist, the lyrics probably just went over my head.
Still haven't had a chance to listen to it, will put it on just now. Just noticed that actually didn't even look at the track list. Yeah I get that sometimes, also sometimes his rhymes are a stretch. =p
Last night i was just listening to the album on repeat and it's grown on me really quickly. My opinion has definitely changed, at first i thought it was an average album like a 6/6.5/7 out of 10, but now i honestly will give it an 8.5 or a 9. It just keeps getting better tbh.
