“ The explosion in vape sales has created heavy demand for distillate. California vape sales tripled from 2020 to 2023 to become a $1.4-billion market, and now only slightly trail those of packaged flower.
To feed this demand, bulk oil manufacturers seek out lower-quality weed, much of it contaminated, to buy at discounted rates.
To meet state screening limits, the extracted oils, or distillates, are blended to dilute pesticides.
One manufacturer who solicits farmers for “dirty” weed defended the practice, saying he provided struggling growers an income source while keeping otherwise unusable cannabis out of the landfill.
The amber-colored bulk oil moves on an opaque market, traded by brokers who operate without license or regulation. It is bought by manufacturers who sometimes will use oil from the same batches to fill thousands of vape cartridges for competing brands.
This cheap commodity oil now dominates the market, selling for a fraction of the cost to produce a clean product.
The cannabis industry’s reliance on low-quality weed enrages old-style farmers such as Mary Gaterud, who nurtures her sun-grown plants on a Humboldt County farmstead that has been her principal means of support for decades.

This is why I am very wary of vaping chemically-processed black-market cannabis: without regulated quality control, fuck knows what chemicals I am huffing.
That said, it is concerning that the same problems are cropping up in legal products from the US. Vaping-related lung injuries are no joke.

My mate used to pick up baggies of pills off the floor in clubs and then neck them, with no consideration of testing nor consequences. How far we've come.
Such a great post Polly thank you! This is exactly why we covered what we wrote about on our new vape because we get this so much! People want cheap not realising it's all mass produced and the care and love that goes into our hand made items are in doubt :( The care and love that is needed for cannabis to stay a healing medicine is as essential as it is for our food to be grown organically and it is because of this lack of care that cannabis is making us sick instead of healing us like it should...organic cannabis is life changing and should only ever be sought after in that way :-)

Dont know how factual that specifically is, but i do agree pens are bad for you

Would this explain some frequent distillate hangovers next day after using 🤔 I try to stay clear of distillate. And stick with live resin and edibles and occasionally RSO more often now. What are others view's on vaping distillate 🤔. And do you feel sometimes groggy next day biggas? .

Courtesy of Sir Edward of Hashbarington we have the Terp Bomb that I shall call Agent Orange and is in fact Mimosa Budder. I mean- Yum! right?🤤
Like all secret military nerve agents it demands respect so was gracefully introduced to Mimosa flower before being loaded into a shell casing (dosing capsule tee hee) and into the bomb bay of a B52 (Mighty).
Releasing it into the lush and verdant landscape of my lungs proved to be a powerfully invigorating Mimosa based experience. Powerful being the operative word. Normally a creeper, this Mimosa literally explodes. An intense sativa rush has the ants heading pant-wards. Normally one for air guitar shenanigans, this Mimosa has big band sounds playing in my head. And it lasts longer than Apocalypse Now- Directors Cut!

I may have occasionally mentioned over the years that I am rather fond of Mimosa. 🤔
Despite not being a huge flavour chaser or a great sativa lover this delicious 70:30 sativa hybrid hits every right note for me. And that pun is intentional becomes no strain makes me crank up the sounds more than Mimosa. Every Wednesday for years now have been Mimosa Wednesday and I’ve now hit every album I’ve ever owned and a whole lot more (thanks for the recs!) and feel I’ve heard them in a whole new way! 🥁💥🎸
It’s a mood lifting, feel great, life enhancing kind of strain. It was Smoggyman’s Portland Mimosa that got me started and oh how I miss that! (And Smoggy!🥲)
So, what do we have here?….I’ve got bud from RB, I’ve got some Dutch bud, I’ve got triple filtered hash from THC, I’ve got a 100% live resin vape pen, sweets and carts from SN2D. I’ve got a TinyMight2, a Mighty, a Vapman, a Puffco Proxy and a Tombstone. I’ll be doing Mimosa many ways!
Let’s start with a little hash in the Proxy. This is a pro device that burns like Hades! I want to look as cool as Bing Crosby but puff too hard on this and you are going to a land far far away but leaving your lungs on the doorstep! The hash is a terps bomb- that mega Mimosa citrus is wild. Crumbles like a Keif. Hits immediately (Mimosa is normally a creeper) and it kinda wants to get my arms up in the air like I just don’t care but is a frontal lobe stoner. It sits heavily….defo one for the hash hounds.
Let’s put RB’s bud in the TM2. You rip (not sip) with the TM2. Fanta like tingle on the tongue. That close one eye tight and squint with the other as you race up fast. And there it is….easing into the opening notes of Wish You Were Here but kind of glad you’re not. (No offence) 😁. I don’t feel good cos I feel great.

That looks like a hell of a party! I'm smoking some of THC's Superboof right now, and it's unbelievable good hash. Probably the best I've smoked so far, but there's so much more to try!

Yeah I know, I had a weak moment. I managed to convince myself that I still hadn't found the ultimate portable battery device for hash. In fairness the Proxy is better at extracts than hash but I still prefer the AceCup for my dabs.

Weed with extracts is always a good idea but mixing in sticky concentrates to make a ‘Roulade’ (my take!) is a bloody great one! 👨🍳
Ingredients:
Wedding Cake by Druids Magic🧙♂️
Blue Dream Caviar from Canadian Imports🇨🇦
Method:
Grind weed and use a dab tool to spoon caviar on top. Use fingers to work into the weed until covered (weed will prevent fingers getting too sticky), and compress into a cake (roulade!)
Load roulade into a dosing capsule and bake @ 195c for 2+2 minutes.
Inhale deeply and say “I DO!”
Terp Bomb! 💥🥁🥁💥
Big hitting rolling euphoria will ensue heading 🚀and the most tremendous sense of well being🤩🤩…

I also personally feel that less is more and am after 10mg+ edibles these days.
They're hard to find though, most vendors seem to compete in the 50mg+ heavyweight league.

Hi TWDuke have you thought about the cap's they come in the lower dosage? Then you can regulate the dosage better I'm sure they go as low 5/10mg a few venders have them. I know Eleveeats did and UK dispensary.

Otherwise I use to buy from edibaby69 which had nice melow 50mg and right now I am using Gassed 100mg Worms spliting them in 50 and 25 doses.
I'm aware that a couple of vendors do sell 10mg doses and I have ben delaying my last purchase until yesterday waiting for elevatedeats to relist some of their low doses...Guess what they've just done it today :-(

It will always be the flower mate…. but mixing the flower with extracts can be amazing, so Mimosa wax, rosin, badder etc would always get me! 😍
I've been looking at getting the flowerpot vape where you can do both at the same time, there pretty pricey though but the end game I think.

You can do both together in the Mighty by using a dosing capsule (my next update will be the ‘roulade’- rolling shatter or resin in herb😋). I also use a pie tray in the little Vapman but I’m a bit of a klutz with butane!
Is that Evo though? I have tried Evo from Barneys Farm and whilst it’s a beautiful grow from KIG it’s not a traditional Mimosa- it’s indica dominant for a kick off whilst Mimosa is a sativa hybrid. I find it gives me a head stone rather than the normal desire to tune up the air guitar!🎸😜

No, it's the absorption issue we've discussed before. Have to hit at least 150mg really. Last nice edibles time I had was the 3 truffles I had from Elevated Eats, and with that I felt 1 more would have been perfect. It's my cross to bear.

What do we have here?….some very tasty very traditional Dutch Mimosa but sandwiched in a Mighty dosing capsule with THC’s triple filtered Mimosa Hash. The hash has more of a powerful stoner effect than the normal Mimosa uplift, but combine the two and 🪇🪇
Mimosa never gets me edgy but sativas can put ants in your pants. This is mellow and strong and a power treat….🔥
Whilst I was going to crank up Setting Sons by The Jam that cerebral push is more The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. (All my albums are very old indeed 😂). Time to tune the air guitar! 🎸

I only put soft hashes into the Mighty, normally roll out a snake and then coil it into a dosing capsule on a bed of cotton bacon. 210c seems to do the job really nicely. I probably get a bigger hit in the Vapman if I get the butane just right. It’s kind of a ‘sipper vs a ripper!’

When you order from a seller on biggy, you send your funds to transaxe who hold it on behalf of biggy for 2 weeks (in most cases) so that if a problem comes up, lets say your order does not arrive, you can dispute and potentially get a full refund. Its called escrow, if you ever bought a house its the same system. Prevents anyone from getting scammed.
A bitcoin wallet address is a unique 33-56 character long.
