Well, it depends on BTC price and wallet you are using. Can't really complain, because I use ledger nano s, but yea, the second option should be available. For example, XRP has the fastest and if I'm not mistaken, the cheapest transactions.

Ok thanks mate. Explained really well. Think i will keep the coin for a while until the situation gets better fee wise. Just isnt worth it at the minute. Will go local for now. Shame as im sure im not the only one is this situation. Another payment method on lb one day will be good as this way is getting expensive. Hopefully the day will come when you just pay as advertised without any extra fees.

I’ve only bought a few times and I use Blockchain but late evening/night time seems to bring the fees down. Or have I just been lucky? It has been suggested on lb to send custom fees and set it low(ish) which will take longer to send but will be cheaper. But what I’m unsure about is when placing an order it says pay within 30 minutes (I think that’s right?) Does that mean the actual funds within 30 minutes or the instruction? ie can you set the instruction to send over several hours but set it in motion within 30 minutes? Does anybody know? :)

Usually depending on what wallet you use you can set the time the payment takes to go through. From ‘fast’ around 30 mins to ‘medium’ a couple of hours or ‘slow’ for 24 hours. Of course the fee is higher the quicker the transaction. The OPs charges sound really high. Mine is around £7 for the 30 min option and I use Mercuryo wallet and bittylicious for purchasing Bitcoin. Both very good and reasonably priced compared to others. Also both have really good help/chat service that can walk you through any issues.
Put in an order over the weekend for $100 and the transaction fee was around £7.
Strongly advise the OP ditches whatever service he’s using as it sounds expensive.
And yes, later in the evening/early hours is a much better time to do any transactions.

No worries. At the end of the day BTC isn’t dirt cheap to use generally, there’s always costs and fees involved. The upside is that it’s very difficult to trace payments and is great if you need anonymity like we all do here! The usual trade off. ;)

Do you know if you can set it to really low, say 24 hours but still get it to the vendor on time? On Blockchain I choose the within 1 hour option and it registers as “sent” usually within a few minutes but the “activity” tab shows as still processing for 1-2 hours or so but all is ok with the vendor. So do I have to send it so quick? Am I making sense? :)

Do you mean a payment sent to a vendor took 48hrs? If so did your order “process” within the 30 minutes? Or did it cause a problem?

Yep, I understand what you’re getting at. The simple answer is I’m not sure as I’ve never tried to send here slower than 30 mins simply because the payment timer here is set to 30 minutes.
I suppose it’s probably worth getting in touch with the vendor to see if they’re happy to have a slower payment, AND that the payment still goes through after the thirty minute timer IF it’s set to 24 hours?
I have no idea why LB payments have that 30 minute timer, perhaps someone here knows the answer who can share that info?
