I also decided to go through all the old classic GTAs on mine and they work perfectly as ported games.

Sorry if that's not what you want to hear but performance is terribly distracting, the bugs are out of control and all in glorious 12 frames per second.

Combat is the best thing in the game but you'll spend all your time getting lost, back tracking and awkwardly running across walls picking up useless cosmetics and talking to random assholes in the middle of nowhere.

I'm on Xbox Series X but PC is worse I think. The PS5 version is the "best" but that's not saying much.

I'd wait for more patches AND a price drop.

Just finished Subnautica. Really nice just looking around after a smoke. More relaxing than FPS. The Outer Wilds is another similar open world. Fantastic looking.

I gave up on normal servers a few years ago, I've been playing a RP/PVP server for all this time and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Peoples RP can change each wipe or stay the same if they like what they are doing.

If you have a PC it might be worth it looking into VR and buying a headset. Half-life Alyx is really good and will hopefully set the new standard for AAA VR games if they do end up really taking off.

If you want a break from the norm I would recommend trying a few indie titles, I loved the little nightmares games, hotline Miami 1 & 2,

res evil 2 remake is good too. If you got a good pc, cyberpunk maybe.

Indie is where I think you find more interesting games these days, but there is also a lot more junk to go through to find the gems.

I have also been playing older indie titles again like limbo and inside, shadow complex and mark of the ninja, all great games in my opinion

If you want to check out something completely different mount and blade is a great game, you can get vanilla on xbox, or all sorts of mods on PC.
Or if you don't mind going really old with a game, X-com: terror from the deep. The gameplay in the older X-com games really puts the newer ones to shame. Terror from the deep in unfairly difficult, but it has a good atmosphere and you should get plenty of play time out of it.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - I had so much fun with this game. Not one I would usually play either but I genuinely couldn't leave it alone for a good while

I’m of the same opinion of you, not my style of game butttt! God damn it’s one if the best games I’ve ever played especially stoned, the music, the lore, the gameplay, all completely mesmerising, not sure if anyone has already suggested these games but the dark pictures franchise games are really good as each game is like a horror game where you control the players and every action has a different consequence, some of the games are better than others but it’s a new story and cast with each one with 1 normally recognisable actor.

If you want a real challenge of an adventure game with amazing graphics and gameplay check out Sekiro. One of my favourites and slept on. Similarly ghosts of Tsushima is pretty good too. Sleeping dogs is also pretty good (few years old), was meant to apart of the True Crime series and is based in Chinatown LA I think. I’m more of a FPS kind of guy like Warzone but those games were something else 👌

Look up slippi and faster melee, you can play it online lagless now and takes 2 mins to find a game. Challenging though! People have been playing for over a decade lol

Sports: UFC 4 – It’s tough to get for a newbie, but once you get the hang of it, it’s very addicting. There’s nothing like MMA.

Racing: Forza Horizon 5 – Amazing graphics, realistic driving, sounds/feels real.

Shooter: Insurgency: Sandstorm – The most realistic shooter on console, it’s unrivaled.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – The games’ been out since like 2015(?) but it still holds up, it’s comparable to search & destroy on CoD, but with the element of Battlefield. It’s easy, doesn’t require an absurd amount of skill, barring you’re facing sweats, it’s still a top 3 shooter IMO.


Misc: Chivalry 2 – It’s literally gorey, medieval first person sword combat. It’s a sick ass game.

Yeah you need to take a break from those triple aaa games like that, they all bleed into 1, like COD, let’s face it, it’s been the same game for years now. Try some refreshing indie games, play little nightmares 1 & 2, it’s great. The hotline Miami games are fun too. There are others, can’t think of them now, but will update if my stoney brain remembers…

2 words. Hitman Trilogy. If you like roleplay with tasteful incorporated violence then youll be well away. Its AAA, but is single player only. Sandbox levels so intricately made it has unlimited playback potential. The vr on ps4 isnt great but i bet pc would be immense, although i haven't tried.

Borderlands 3 mate. Or Spider-Man miles morales if you like superhero games. I play cod all the time and like those two when wanting something different.

It's a cross between a survival game, RPG, Minecraft, Ark... It's hard to explain. But you basically have to level up a Viking character, build everything, craft weapons, etc. However it's all woven into a HUGE procedurally generated map (different in every game). It's SUPER chilled, but also great fun, creative, and rewarding. Check out 'Valheim worth a buy" on Youtube.. but don't watch any other videos as you'll ruin it for yourself. You'll get lost in this game... as will your free time.

God of War 2018- Ragnarok, both phenomenal, the lore is really cool, the combat is so satisfying when you get the full hang of it, plus you truly feel like a god of war but as much as a fan of the the original god of war series I’d be lying if I didn’t say I prefer the newer rpg style god of wars,

the Witcher 3 is a game that to this day shits on most modern games, it’s got a amazing story, great gameplay mechanics but what really sets it apart is all of the different things you hunt and fight, there’s pretty much every mythical creature you can think of in the game and each one has a specific weakness which you can craft certain things to make killing them easier or potions that give your character certain buffs, it’s a game you’ll get extremely addicted to and playing for 40+ hours easily, one of the few games I can genuinely say the world feels alive even when your not playing.

Cyberpunk, pretty decent game and is free on game pass, the game had a lot of potential and was definitely rushed, that being said though it’s still extremely fun and satisfying to play, the stuff you can do by giving your character cyber enhancements, also you can can decide how you want things to go mission and story wise the same as the Witcher which makes sense considering they are made by the same studio.

A huge classic is l.a noire, it’s 1947ish (I believe) you play as officer Cole Phelps and you start off as a street officer then work your way up into different police departments it’s your job to go and solve crimes that have been committed by searching for evidence investigating witnesses and interrogating suspects all while getting in the occasional shootout with criminals every now and then, it’s made by the same company as gta so it’s got a sold studio behind it.

Metal gear vengeance, I’ve never played the other metal gears but forget them right now, this game will put hairs on your chest with the pure dosages of testosterone you get playing this, the fighting is just chefs kiss, each boss has a badass song to go with it to give you that full nuts to butts experience, your basically a ninja in a metal armour suit that goes around destroying everything, the end boss fight was so good it made my dad come back from the shop after 15 years with the milk just to watch me beat it

I've been playing Greyzone Warfare recently, been really enjoying that! Haven't been doing much of the questing tbh xD just roaming around looting and hoarding, but still been enjoying it all the same!

Dayz it's hard but once you got the hang of it best game by far

I fell in love with sim racing. Assetto Corsa, BeamNG, iRacing. You can start with cheaper Moza R3 direct drive wheel with pedals and H-shifter and enjoy it from the first moment, if you like cars. SuperHot is a novel take on FPS I enjoyed on Mac. Really good after a smoke. It's a unique flavour, time only moves as you the player take actions. So you can do some proper mad slow motion spinning around headshot type nonsense.

If you've not played it you'll pick up "Spec Ops The Line" for dirt cheap these days and its one of the best shooter-story games ever made...

circling back once again - gaiming on mac - other recomendations would be PCSX2 - PS2 Emulator, and RPCS3 for PS3, shadPS4 - not quite there for PS4 yet but its getting better.

And also xbox cloud (grab a cheap account on g2g/z2u ) - decent games with gamepass and as long as wifi is decent your good

There is also stuff like WINE/CrossOver you can use to get windows games set up but its either complicated to set up / CrossOver costs money

Just been trying it this afternoon. Go on a site like G2A for game keys etc... and find the best deal for a months XBOX GAME PASS ULTIMATE (needs to be ultimate for cloud gaing to work) I found one for around £5 - log into the account they send you - and then you can play a whole heap of XBOX 360, to present day XBOX games in browser through cloud gaming - works on Mac. Pretty sweet, just been playing some fifa and skate 3.

Can use a variety of controllers as well, I use cheap one i got for my iphone via bluetooth

To the games, ARC Raiders is pretty good.
If you like cars, Assetto Corsa (Classic with CSP and Pure graphic, Rally, Evo, Competizione) or classic BeamNG.. It is a deep down hole if you will like it because as soon as you will start to realize how realistic is, you will probably buy sim rig, direct drive wheel base, gaming monitor or triple monitors... Like weed, you starting on 500 budget, then easily go 5000 and above 😃

I got to meet one of the developers and play the game before release at EGX a few years ago and kept it on my radar. If you like similar side scrollers I recommend Axiom Verge, The Messenger, and Carion. They’re not rougue like games but each unique and fun in their own way.
