Best games of this/last gen?
So as the world moves on to the latest set of consoles I'm wondering what the biggas think where the best games of the last gen? what are your must plays? did you find any hidden gems? found a good game to play with a spliff in hand? :P
There'll probably be some decent bargains on the way for those games you haven't got round to yet. I'm by no means a hardcore gamer but look forward to taking some recommendations! :)

I have an aversion to "wild west" themes but I bet I'd love this as a game if I could get past it. Might give it a try if it comes up extra cheap and see if I can bare the cowboyary lol
These sorts of big single player games have been getting a lot more popular this gen, I hope the trend continues. Ghost of tsushima looks good, obvs Witcher3 for me but Horizon Zero Dawn is another that's just so, so impressive although I couldn't get into it at first.

Single player was beautifully made, it's a shame that online didn't hit as hard as it could've, I never played online for long.

GTA has to be one of the best games to play when your smashed without a doubt, I could just drive my car round for days when I'm stoned haha

Xenoblade Chronicles 1+ 2 for the Switch and
Persona 5 Royal - Ps4- are my favourites RPGs for the last Gen.
They just feel right, the persona soundtrack is an awesome steak dinner for your audiophile soul.
Xenoblade Chronicles is just one of those good old times 100 hours story
RPGs that leaves a bittersweet aftertaste while the outro takes your experience into memory land.

Ghost of tsukushima, god of war and spiderman, ( all Sony excusive,) witcher 3 qnd rdr2,the only game I want to keep on this gen

It was an amazing game to be fair, great story playthough as well switching between the 3. Mad to think it came on the previous gen, it must be almost 10years old now? I wonder if we'll ever get a new one though?

Got cyberpunk on the cheap, flawed game for sure, not as amazing as expected. Reading that it runs best on Xbox series s, not the x, wtf….

I love racing games so at moment I'm playing Forza Horizon 5 a lot, Red Dead Redemption 2 is worth a look and you'd have to have a heart of stone not to cry playing it.

I recently re discovered the world of Sony PlayStation having been xboxing for years. Got a PS4 on the cheap about 8 months before ps5 came out. Playing their exclusives I have to say some of them are the best, in my opinion of last gen. So my list starts with last of us, last of us 2,any Nathan drake game, horizon dawn. Then you got to have GTA5 and RdDR2. Gems for me are things like little nightmares, hotline Miami 1 & 2. The Res Evil 2 remake was awesome. And my fav game of recent times that has matured like a fine wine, is Days Gone. In case you wondered, I love a zombie apocalypse game….goes well with a spliff or 2. You can get most of these games on the cheap now. A mention for ghost of tshumia , got a ps5 update as well, so if you got a ps5 you can play the last great PS4 exclusive in shiny ps5 mode….

Resi Evil tell ya what Mr. X/Tyrant or whatever that big bastard is called seemed a lot more chewy in the remake he did my head right in lmao I almost walked away from it at one point
Playing last of us 2 atm since it came to PS plus, recently switched it over to the PS5 there's no update for it but it looks amazing anyway and loads quicker now :)

Last of us 2 such a great game, only hated by people who couldn’t get their heads around a more interesting take on seeing different sides of the coin….I won’t say more than that in case of spoiler….

Yeah I'm in the second half of the game so I get what you mean and I agree mate another great game just like the first was :)

Showing my age now perhaps but I burnt out on 1st person shooters a long time ago. I remember playing half life, unreal tournament and the like, playing the first few CODS and Medal of Honours. These games really haven’t changed that much over the years except with better graphics etc, but maybe that can be said of most genres. At one point first person shooters would be all I played so maybe that is why I rarely play them these daysrecent first person shooter games I enjoyed though are alien isolation and Wolfenstein for a quick blast of ultra violence

Playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla atm, not far from the best in the franchise, and you do need to be a hardcore gamer to have fun.

Don’t know if it’s already been mentioned but Goldeneye n64 multiplayer was 💩hot and original series ghost recon online team based multiplayer Xbox ⚡️

Last one😂😂 Rtype …awesome shooter. And did any one play altered beast or curse of sherwood on spectrum 128k🤙 Almost finished far cry 6👍

Smash bros, Mario kart and zelda breath of the wild on the switch. Recently finished god of war and enjoyed that, the first spiderman was good but found the miles morales to be rushed and a glorified dlc.
Really enjoyed hellblade on xbox / pc.
Out of them breath of the wild takes it easily.

I'm 46 now and didn't play games much when I was younger but we all used to play Mario Kart on the cartridge console in all sorts of twisted states and used to have a total blast. Recently discovered PUBG on the IPad and am kind of hooked. It's so much fun and you end up doing stupid dances and stuff yet highly skillful also. Skydive in with your mates and let the mayhem commence.

Some of those old school games were the best for playing with a bunch of mates, some other good examples outside of mario kart. How about micro machines, does anyone remember speed ball…..back in the day the original tekken on PS got played a lot in my group, any of the old worms games, v good for taking turns, passing the blunt….

Those kart games are so much fun when stoned with mates, Crash Team Racer was our favourite back in the day good times haha :)

Minecraft... After this I started feeling beta and watched Mike Tyson videos to restore the balance. Great on last and next gen. Incredibly relaxing.

When I first saw Horizon Zero Dawn, I thought this game was weird, I never did play it at the time and it's usually not my sort of cup of tea but then my mate showed me it and I kind of enjoyed it, I enjoyed it so much I bought Forbidden West, I've finished that, which was an amazing game, now I'm patiently waiting on the third part of the series!

Just finished the Mass Effect legendary edition I'm going to put that out there as the best trilogy, first time I've played all 3 properly and on one save - I played it pretty much every day for the past 3 months lol at this point I am Shepard, my best friends are a Quarian named Tali and a Turian named Garrus and I AM commander of the Normandy! :P
Genuinely going to miss my jaunt around the galaxy but suppose at least now I can do some real life for a bit.. or maybe Andromeda? we'll see lol

Just curious about what Biggas listen to when they are high...For me,as my biggy name hints,I'm a MASSIVE Tangerine Dream fan(70s to mid 80s)(seen them live in over 20 concerts!) and all things of the "Berlin School" genre...Theres nothing that compares to classic "Phaedra" while vaping my fav strains...Then theres also Redshift,Klaus Schulze,Thorsten Quaschning(solo),Stefan Erbe,Brian Eno,Arc,Ian Boddy....the list could go on and on!....Currently I'm listening Koan on Spotify....blissful and exceptional combo!....Whats your favs guys????

Probably 70% of the time it’s Frank Zappa but I’m always on the look out for new music, any genre and anything goes. Love to have people over, smoke and listen music as well, that for me can’t be beat.

Love a bit of Zappa when I'm getting high. "At St Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast....Where I stole the Margerine" Cracks me up everytime.

Early Floyd works great for me…those albums are like stoner jamming sessions designed to be listened to the same way. I didn’t realise it the first time around as a teenager but it all makes sense now! 😵💫😂

yeeee Polly! a little bita Syd Barrett...early Floyd is thee best...
get on kind of blue Miles Davis. A masterpiece which will introduce you to the other side of the ether...

Oooh yes! Syd Barrett....God rest his fabulous soul....this is beginning to feel like the "Ole farts brigade of Prog Rock"!! Next we will be expounding the virtues of Elp,Genesis & Camel to name but a few! Not arrrf music lovers! Lets Rock!!!!!!!!

Oooh don’t get me started on early Genesis- no one is going to convince me that Gabriel’s lyrics make any sense if you’re not stoned! 😂😂

Yes i agree! Pink Floyd is quite surreal when listening with some good greens!...ever tried to listen to "Ummagumma" when flying high??...Amazing!

Now THAT comment is VERY spooky my friend because today is Wednesday and I have a Mimosa session on Wednesdays (my go to strain for music) and on my Floyd rotation for today, I swear to God is: Ummagumma!! 😳😵💫🤯⚡️👍❤️

...think that lyric quote I just made was from "Obscured by Clouds" and not "Ummagumma"...."One of these days I'm gonna chop you into little pieces!"....can anyone confirm???

Neither…it was ‘Meddle’.🤓 That lyric is ‘spoken’ by Nick Mason. Jeeez I am a Floyd nerd!

Oh yes of course it was Meddle! And yes...you are Floyd nerd!(which in my book is a compliment!)

LOL🤣
In much later live performances of that track they cut out that intro line 😖…Mason, who kind of looks like everyone’s favourite uncle these days decided it wasn’t really appropriate with his kids in the audience 🙃

Yes...I think Mason has "mellowed with age"...but its a great line and sounds totally amazing after a bit of Sativa!(or perhaps in your specific case...Mimosa!)(I must get some of that...heard a lot of good vibes about it!)

Mimosa & music is top👍 and will be hitting it in about 60 minutes🥳
After all this build up I’m going to add some of ULC’s Mimosa Wax to the weed for a ‘Mimosa Turbo’ 🤯
Will report back….😉

Sounds like a great night ahead! As its a week night sadly its only a warm beer and a packet of pork scratchings for me!!!! lol!

Miles Davis Panthalassa - remixed by Bill Laswell is spacey tripped out vibe
Utopia Strong - Tang Dreamish modular synth stuff from a band who include a member of Gong and Steve Davis (yes the snooker champ). Check out the track Brain Surgeons Three
Latest Gong album Universe Also Collapses is space riff-a-rama.
Anything by Cardiacs. Best band ever.

Usually something P-Funk, but I do enjoy Rap, not the mumble jumbo shit kids listen to these days, more the old skool viby type stuff

My favourites are Ozrick tentacles and Hawkwind ( mostly early 70’s Hawkwind) when I get high I seem to pickup the higher frequencies of the tweets and bubbles..if you are not aware of any of these suggest listening to “Masters of the universe” by them

Hawkwind & Gong, I used to hang out with both in early 70s. Private gigs/parties too when they were able to play, being too wrecked to tune up was Hawkwinds tradition. I don't listen to it now, I don't like it!

Oh i think you should!...I discovered Tangerine Dream after listening to late night John Peel way back in the 70s and they are STILL my favorite bands today! AND...I'm listening to "Rubycon" as I type this!!!

I discovered Rubycon the other day after reading a recommendation. Went very well with my chocohash

If you liked TDs "Rubycon" I would therefore suggest anything by Redshift or Arc...Mark Shreeve(sequencer genius) is in both bands and Ian Boddy is the other half of Arc...both sound very very similar to TD(Phaedra,Rubycon & Ricochet eras)...Have a look on Spotify as there are some great "Best Of" mixes from both :)

Yes I'm very aware of both my friend...in fact it was Harkwinds "Silver Machine" & of course the true DJ legend John Peel that got me into my obsession with Tangerine Dream & all things electronica!...I'm just listening to "System 7"(Steve Hillage) as I type this!

If you're into Tangerine Dream and more contemporary electronica, try a band called Reformat!

Thanks for that...will try them on Spotify...haven't heard of Reformat before so will let you know how I rate them :)

Yup: Zappa, Floyd ( agree - early!), a lot of jazz, usually 1945 onwards - a lot of stoners and as many smack users amongst those musicians of colour inc., Gillespie, Davis, Oscar Peterson, Mingus, Roland Kirk and many others. Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee ( ... amazing blues). Dusty Springfield ( check her out, from 60-70's she could rock and sing da blues up with the best), Patti Smith, Marley and a lot of real Irish/celtic stuff ( not River Dance level crap).
Little Feat ( been my fave USA rocky type band since they began - Lowell George was incredible), Tabla and other Eastern/Asian music - try Shahbaz Hussain or Sukhvinder Singh "Pinky" (Tabla - incredible) when stoned ( these guys really rock- you'll be blown away) .... I have many hundreds of albums, I could list all but LB would ban me 8)

ive been really into a lot of midwest emo bands lately whilst smoking, with the weather it fits perfect

Sounds brilliant....Tonight Ive got some Royal Gorilla(from the great guys @ Northern Organics) accompanied by Tangerine Dreams new "Raum" album....doesn't get much better!

Just discovered Banco de Gaia on Spotify which is totally amazing to listen to with a nice haze! Check out the track "China" and you will be in "euphorium"! :)

Pretty sure I was at Glastonbury in about '94 or '95 or '96 not sure....make of that what you will..but Banco De Gaia played on a little bandstand out the front of our stall in the Greenfields...at least I think they did. I remember lying there coming up on my first something or other and it was a real moment of the the festival for me. Great memories...I think.

Yes they were there in 95!...the set was incredible and if memory serves this was my first foray into "bud" when previously Id only experienced "resin"...Happy haze-daze!

Must listen to some of them with my next smoke been chilling to kota the friend for a while now just gives me that vibe

Not sure if this is a necropost, sorry! Wish these posts had dates on them haha. But couldn’t resist a chance to share my favourite part of getting high; the music.
When I smoke I tend to go with stuff that has deep and layered production, stuff with a slight psychedelic/neo-psychedelic element, I love to sink into the sounds and hear all the little elements.
This tends to lead me to moden rnb; Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz. But to give one recommendation – Greentea Peng. Superb production, great vibes, and great lyrics on all her tracks. Perfect for me.
Alternatively, Left In The Dark by Galster Lustwerk is brilliant, perfectly captures that deep and mellow production.
Sending love biggas!

It's been pretty varied lately. Lots of Hospital Records... but on a different tangent... I've been getting really into this dude...

Currently tokin some of mercedes best and listening to nusrat fateh ali khan remixes - superb snd also some ambient stuff

Wow....loving this!!!....Totally my kind of music! Just about to fire up the Flowermate with some rather decent Orange Sherbet,so this will go brilliantly with that! Many thanks...."see you on the other side!"(yes,I know...I nicked this expression from Tyler Green!!!! lol!)

Just discovered Nils Fahrm on Spotify...this is very sublime stuff and very meditative, minimalistic and serene...if you like your ambient with a touch of "Berlin School"....please give this a try.....

The big news for me on the music side is the release of "Osiris" by Klaus Schulze this June...This guy is a synthesizer legend and even in his 72nd year on this planet he continues to produce mind bogglingly beautiful music that's made in Heaven...Heres a 6 min taster of Osiris Pt1......Enjoy!

Normally start off in one genre and 10 minutes later something completely different ❤️Life in music😄 where ever the smoke takes me funky 80s through to Marilyn Manson maybe ccc and Santana who knows man that’s the beauty of weed n music. Beautiful combo😁🙏

Yes,good to change genres occasionally...variety is the key! Loving Carlos Santana also! Hes defo THE MAN!

Dreamer420🤛 Love a bit of synth🤙 A few big tokes headphones on klaus Schulz eyes closed volume up goosebumps 🤯 👍

Great stuff mate! Yes,"Osiris" PT1 is on YouTube but we all will have to wait till mid June for the whole album release, but PT1 is truly exceptional,so buying the CD in June for me is a given!!
