Seems the consensus is the Pax 3 for Vaporizer choice, Am happy to pay the amount for it but not until I work out if vaping is for me. Is there a half decent cheaper version I can try out first to see if it's for me before investing into a decent one like the Pax? Thanks for any help :)
Not tried a pax, but a lot of people criticise them these days for being a PITA to clean, using lots of herb, and having so-so vapour and taste. They are still good for being discreet out in public due to the size though. If you are spending pax 3 money, you might as well go for something like an Arizer or Storz & Bickel vape which are rated highly. On the lower priced end, check out the Fenix Mini/Smono 3 (same vape under different branding), the Storm Sapphire or a Dynavap.
Pay the money get the Mighty, false economy to get anything else apart form a decent desktop, you’ll get a cheap vape, think it’s shit and then give up on the idea of vaping, and that’s all from expierience. The Mighty is the closest thing to a spliff you can get, helped me cut back on spliffs when nothing else worked. All the Dynavap talk is ok if you barely smoke weed or microcode but it’s really not gonna get you there if you smoke a decent amount of herb unless you reload about 17 times, got 3 sitting here and just don’t understand the love and hype for them at all.
I agree with all of that Noxa. This must be an old topic because I posted above how much I liked my new Dynavap- since then I’ve binned the fiddly little bastard and got a Mighty. Total game changer. I don’t regret my FIVE previous vapes as it was part of the journey I guess. I’m just glad I got to the Land of the Mighty in the end!
2 years ago I was smoking 21-28 grams a month. Now I almost exclusively Dynavap and get through about 10g per month. Two guys I've smoked with for years have now both moved to Dynavap after seeing me quit combustion.
If you still have joints in your life maybe that's why it's not working for you? I'm the other way now. I get way higher from whatever I can fit in one Dynavap bowl (with a little bong) than I can smoking a blunt. Go figure.
I've got a Sapphire by Storm and it does the trick for me. I usually only vape flower if I've had a few beers so it's not used daily but it's easy to use, easy to clean, can produce some decent clouds on higher temps and when my first one stopped charging they sent me a replacement for free no questions asked.
+1 for Dynavap, as they are flame heated by a jet lighter ( electrical induction heaters are also available); the flame thing & the stick thing held in fingers satisfies the "like a spliff/pipe" brain & muscle memory ....Works well with flower, solid, wax ( with an insert) .
I have had a Pax 2 since launched, don't like it, a lot of work to clean, does not get to the temps required for solid, has poor airflow, is fiddly etc.
The XMax Starry is also good, various versions, removable power cell, I have a V2 (also sold under other brand names) and is not too expensive, vapes well, a bit fiddly to clean but I read that the V3 helps with that.
Tried a few and just got a Dynavap M which is defo my favourite! I suspected the battery vapes didn’t generate enough heat in the chamber whereas the Dynavap uses flame. Great smooth hit with all the benefits, eco on volumes but not worth going back to IMO- charge up fresh each use. Enjoy!
Think I'm going to have to just bite the bullet and go to the dark side. Hard to change habits when all i've done for 25 years is smoke it mainly through a bong. I tried a Vaporizer nearly 20 years ago. It was basically a heating element with a brass bowl encased by a glass jar with a clear tube hanging out the side. It tasted feral and didn't give me much of a buzz. I assume things have moved forward since those ancient relics.
I use Flowermate V5.0 my first vape, it's done me for a year or so, I am quite happy with it and it was cheap as chips, I am curious to upgrade though I heard Pax 2 is good I would look at Pax 3 though, not cheap as chips tho -only for flower the Flowermate, not for solid
Also worth checking out a TinyMight vaporiser. Handmade in Finland and hits like an absolute beast! I’ve been vaping for years and have used Storz & Bickel Mighty, Crafty and many other portables. Nothing hits the spot like this! Made from Solid Oak, Metal and Glass. No plastics! Lovely vape.👍
