Thanks for the linkagge!

"Wireheads are beings who have changed their reward architecture in order to be happy all the time". Sound like any being you know?

i think lb is a good start

amazing piece

Eye opening POV

kuppens 2007

"The study showed that the correlation between valence and arousal was person-specific (negative for ~30%, positive for ~30%, no correlation for ~40% of people)."

this makes the divide between stimulant and depressant enjoyers unilateral.

good read.

Forget the Sativa vs. Indica myth - it's based on botanical plant structure, not pharmacology.

A better analogy is that major cannabinoids (like THC and CBD) are the engine, setting the baseline strength and intensity, while terpenes (Myrcene, Limonene, Linalool, Pinene etc) and minor cannabinoids (like CBN or THCV) act as the steering wheel, dictating the direction of the high.

Strains with high concentrations of Myrcene (especially when combined with Linalool) yield relaxing, sedative effects regardless of leaf shape.
Strains rich in Limonene (mood elevation via serotonin pathways) and Alpha-Pinene (promotes alertness and counters memory fog) generate stimulating, daytime effects -even in indica plants.

This is the main reason my drops are crafted based on the terpene content of the strain & why they work so well for their specific purpose.

I don't believe the terpenes have much effect . And Sativa is just the botanical name for any cultivated plant . However , I have noticed that Thai and Haze are more likely to induce a psychedelic effect . I recon It has more to do with cannabinoid ratios than terpenes .

Everything you've written is simply untrue -

"I don't believe the terpenes have much effect" - science would disagree.

"Sativa is just the botanical name for any cultivated plant" - not true

"Thai and Haze are more likely to induce a psychedelic effect" - cannabis is not a psychedelic

"I recon It has more to do with cannabinoid ratios than terpenes" - again, not true.

Plenty of information online, I suggest maybe reading up.

Sativa is Latin for “cultivated” and appears in scientific plant names. You can easily verify this fact for yourself .
As for cannabis botany , I read Earnest Small's book which is the definitive book on cannabis botany . A very interesting read .
There is weak evidence that specific terpenes reliably change the human cannabis high—the proposed “entourage effect.” Human clinical trials are limited, often small, and don’t consistently show that common terpene concentrations substantially alter THC effects.
More established predictors: THC dose, CBD/THC ratio, route of use, tolerance, expectations, and individual biology. Marketing claims such as “limonene is energizing” or “myrcene causes couch-lock” are not well established and shouldn’t be treated as dependable rules.
I've done plenty of reading into this subject which is why I'm not convinced by terpenes .
Cannabis may not be classified as a pharmacological psychedelic , but it can certainly produce a psychedelic effect equal to if not greater than the serotonin receptor agonists . It's a shame you've never had the experience .
You're one of those people who just blurt out anything you've heard as fact and gets angry if your preconceptions are challenged . It must be hard for you . No hard feelings .

They both make me low energy but I prefer sativa landraces - too many hybrids nowadays

Sativa and indica indicate growing traits more so than feelings you get from inhaling them. All of this "energetic sativa" is just a myth and marketing strategy

All the modern cultivars are hybrids . There used to be some truth to it , but there was never a variant called ' Sativa ' . Botanically Sativa just means cultivated

Not a fan of couch lock, sleepy stuff. Though I did twice have a ‘nope, can’t move’ experience without any soporific effects. No idea what / why 🤷

upvote for vocabulary 🎓

Haha 😆 👍

Thanks I looked this up and found a vid about the details. This is currently working better than brain invasive approaches because it doesn't get taken over by surrounding tissue, it holds a lot of hope for paralyzed people for a start.

I read a while back they were using nerves from dead people to help create A.I consciousness, great post!

I’m more impressed you pay for the Financial Times

what would you say to a brain for some people that speak already?

it's real time now - and can sing!

thanks, very helpful :)

What a video. Coherence is key

Great video! We believe that Micro-Dosing helps with this awareness, the thinking, feeling and e-motion is under a spotlight. We have felt that Micro-Dosing gives you the time and mental clarity to become more conscious. And after time you start to become more in tune with that heart-brain coherence even when you are not Micro-Dosing.

@samCHED thanks for sharing ;-)

id settle for every other day

why doesnt he talk about how to have coherence consistently or how to avoid this? :( or did my high ass just not listen properly.

putting all that old gear in you skull? i just can't put my head around this ;)

sure, but you can only watch movies

Don't computers have something like mirror neurons? That's like the basis of machine learning.

Deep. Some food for thought: Elon musk recently said that raising a child is just 18 years of “prompt engineering”. Similar to how we would train an AI model, from its original training data to the parameters we set, it’s able to be trained to do ANYTHING - all dependent on the prompts we input. Therefore the real value lies in engineering the “best” prompts to get the desired results. Akin to raising a child, if we can engineer the right environment or thought patterns to allow the child to make the connections and conclusions based on that environment we have solved the puzzle to get whatever outcome we want from that child. This is why they call them neutral networks because they are literally modelled off the brain. I imagine watching an AI model grow and make its own connections between data points is just like watching a child grow and make connections between different data points in the real world. Interesting stuff.

Didn’t Elon musks child disown him? 🤣

This makes me both lonely and less lonely :)

True talk

its insane that all of them aren't open source

doesn't this effectively make our brains open source at some stage?

Its worth noting that they were NOT using the processes usually associated with tdcs and so it not something that can be replicated at home.

Fascinating! so if the chip can convert signals from the brain and use them to control a computer, does that also mean there is potential for the computer to control the chip, and therefore control the brain?

i suppose none of us could even make an educated guess but still very interesting

yes, very

Can't see a scenario where that does not happen.

It will have too much to offer because it will understand what we want moment to moment.

Wow that’s insane 👏🏼

Insane in the brain

Interesting characters but it doesn't seem that original

I think that's it, as archetypical millennials they give Buddha a context for our age. They are a specific antidote to the online wuwei of today.

But you know this has to lead to an app

now that would be dope
