Sativa is exhilarating, it charges your mind and body with revelatory energy. Great for work and sport it's an uplifting daytime high. The downsides can be paranoia and a quicker road to dependence.

Completely untrue. Genetically there is only the cannabis sativa L and at a molecular level they are all the same. The terpenes dictate the physical differences, smell, taste etc. and differing effects are due to the huge variety of growing conditions, climate, soil etc. The indica/sativa classifications have been around so long we have all bought into them, which is fine ‘cos they work for us in their simplicity, but the science disagrees. It’s only relatively recently that this has been fully examined but there are now a tonne of fully peer reviewed science papers on the subject. Whether any of those scientists are also biggaz would be useful to know! ;)

wow my decades long experience is 100% validation of the sativa/indica difference. huge basic difference with energy i derive from them.
in my pursuits of staying high all the time my formula is basically sativa to get it going and indica to insure sleep to make it to another high day. but thats another story ;)

If you are growing correctly and checking with a microscope, you should be getting the perfect mix of what the strain has to offer.

I'm not convinced the science is conclusive . Especially on terpenes . I have noticed that some weed is more likely to produce a psychedelic effect and some more likely to produce a narcotic effect . The most likely explanation in my mind is that different ratios of cannabinoids produce different effects .

These classifications are stoner errors anyway . Earnest Small classifies them as Indica , which we call Sativa . Afghanica which we call Indica , and Himalayensis which we never talk about . All modern cultivars are a mix , so it's impossible to tell how much of each variant they contain .

The Real Seed company collect and sell seeds from all over the world . They have a great website to check out . I've tried a few of the cultivars . The Afghan 90 was one of the best . It came from seeds that had been stored since 1990 in Holland . You can really see and smell the difference between modern and 90s weed . Most of the other landraces I tried came out bad . They haven't been selected for indoor growing I guess .

The proof is in the pudding, there are so many overbred hybrid strains around now it is hard to tell. Only a true indica or sativa you can notice the difference
Most modern strain on the market today, have been breed to be hybrids, hence the ratio indicators giving you a desired mix, and in turn desired effects. That is the beauty, of mixing strains, to create new and exciting, rolls of the dice.

I thought an indica is classed as such when it contains 5% or more of the terpene myrcene which has sedative effects due to the entourage effect with THC. It’s also why people say eating mangos whilst consuming cannabis makes you higher as myrcene is present in them.
Thanks for the mango advice! 🥭 aren't there quite distinguishable plant structures for sativa and indica landrace ? Ofc the terps and grow conditions are irrelevant, and every person's biology is different... but to say that a pure indica isn't going give more sedative effects and pure sativa isn't towards the energising side seems a bit disingenuous... in medical cannabis the terps are stated on the packs... indica/sativa/hybrid categories aren't absolute, but the simplest way to classify... to poo poo this as hippy dippy nonsense seems a lil pretentious...
That was my understanding indica was from India hence the name and sativa from Asia as for the high I always put the effects downt to the strain rather than the indica sativa and don’t think there’s any true sativa or indica on the commercial market there all hybrids nowadays even ones that claim to be 100%one or the other u just wouldn’t get the thc content from it that people are now accustomed too

True, most stuff is hybrid these, but the og landrace strains are 'pure' sativa or indica... you can Try them out here... most cali strains are a mix of African sativa (cookies, durban, power plant, and the chill and sedative effects from indica hindu kush... of course pure indica still gets you 'high' and a sativa can still knock you out eventually

Anyone searching for that old school, original gassy, cheesy flavour this is the one!
Managed to get a lump off Dopey and im glad I did. The variety of cheeses or cheese x strains on here have never lived up to what I remember from the early 2000's to 2010's and I was beginning to think it was a lost cause, but not anymore.
The buds are perfect structure, sticky on the inside, dry in the outside, not super dense like 'cali' bud and absolutely stinks!
Upon exhale you get a faint cheese taste that transitions into complete gas and funk when exhaling that really took me back. Had that iconic funky blue taste with smoke so thick I could've chewed on it.
The high was strong and lasted, at first I was getting creative with a little energetic buzz then 10 minutes later I was hugging m sofa like it was the last time we'd see each other. Then I opened my eyes and it was morning.
Absolutely treasure of a find and I hope it stays on the menu a while because this is a raunchy smoke.
