Hello my fellow Biggaz, I hope you’re all coping with this heat. For anyone that is interested here’s an update on the rosin press I have been making. Progress has been slow as I’ve had to fit it in between work and a busy family life. So far it has come together very nicely indeed. What you see in the photo is entirely made by me except for the return springs and fasteners. The outer plates and heating platens are all aluminium, guide rods are stainless steel, insulation plates are Garolite. Oh yeah, there’s some brass bushings in there too to keep things sliding smoothly. I went big on this one because I struggle with half measures. The heating platens are 4”x7” and the whole thing as it is weighs 10Kg. The next step is to drill the holes for the heating cartridges and thermocouples and then assembling the temperature controller. Waiting for a friend to help me with that bit. After that it’ll need some anodising. This will go in my hydraulic shop press but I’ve already started a design for a stand-alone unit that uses a hydraulic cylinder and incorporates a tilting mechanism. I’d definitely be up for producing more of these if there is interest but it’ll have to be promoted somewhere else as I need to protect my anonymity on here. This is why you get a black and white image with no branding.

Thanks dude! As an engineer (a proper one that makes stuff) it’s hard to buy things when you know you can make it better yourself. I really liked the look of a fancy one from the US but it was out of my budget. I also really like a side project! If this develops into something people want to buy then I’ll be very happy indeed.

How to decarb live resin for carts? Advice needed!
So, I’ve just done a little experiment trying to decarb live resin badder to get it ready for a vape cart. Went for a low and slow method I had read about. Not sure how well it worked to be honest. Put it in a little sealed jar in a precise low temp oven. Set at 65c for 48h. Gave the bottle a little shake a few times and popped it back in. Never opened it whilst still warm. Just managed to get most of it out of the jar and into the cart with a glass syringe… slightly frustrating process but got most of it in. Has anyone got some advice or a better method?

I usually decarb in 5ml jar around 45min for 230F. Im waiting until there are only a few bubbles then i let it go next 2 minutes and then its done. Im using same method for gummies and carts and it works always fine. But i have only 0.5ml carts due to clogging.
Thanks for the response man. What describe there seems to be the standard process. I’ll try that next time. Just had a few blasts on the cart I made and it tastes great. Potent too. So perhaps it worked just fine. Good to try a variety of methods though.
The ideal thing I have found for small batch decarb is the rosin press itself as the temp control is so accurate and you can easily see how it's bubbling.

1. Hotplate is an absolute game changer for decarb. Don't cheap out though - you need to know the temp settings (make sure you don't get a basic "high/medium/low" plate)
2. Keep the glass syringe and flat tip needle hot. This is way easier with a hotplate. As soon as the material touches cold glass or metal it will thicken and/or crystalise and will be hard to get out of the syringe as a result.

Thanks for the response dude. I pre warmed the syringe etc and used a 14g needle. I think the awkwardness was just from doing it for the first time. Good shout on the hot plate but I don’t want to spend money on that just yet as my available funds are going towards the rosin press I’m making.

Having decarbed different bho types many times - I have come to understand that the biggest variable is that some material is more stubborn that others.
Some will decarb at 70° for 24 hours no problem.
Some will still not stop bubbling after 48 hours on 95°.
I always go air tight - this will matter very little if you go above 80° tbf though - you can smell the terps escaping even with a tight lid.
I tend to start at 70° then judge the rate of bubbling from that as to whether it needs to be higher or not.

Thanks dude. 70* is where I’m going to start with the next batch. Using my new oven thermometer this time. It’s GSC live resin badder. I got a nice 25ml Pyrex media bottle to put it in. I’ll report back.

I’ve just been eyeing up some very well priced live resin options from Myconauts… very tempted to get some for further experimentation.
This is all part of my quest to be able to make my own rosin carts. I’m building my own press etc. at the moment.

Hello everyone, I’d really like to get a rosin press for making flower resin 7g at a time. There’s several sites selling them but I’d love to get a recommendation from someone who’s got some experience. My budget is up to £500 as an absolute max.

I have DabPress 10ton with gauge pump for many years, pressed a lot, no issues. Currently for sale, but sadly in EU
The DabPress stuff does look really good. Shame about Brexit otherwise I could be tempted to buy yours. I’d been looking at the stuff from Devil Press which also looks pretty good. Does one really need 10ton? I see quite a few with just 1ton…
The key is enough pressure for the area of the heated plates. So for flower you need to generate atleast 1200psi, and you need area for 2.5' diameter of the rosin bags (4g-20g, up to you how much you will fill it - pre press it everytime for better yield - without heat, ideal with mold)... Short story you need atleast 6-7ton press for pressing bag filled with atleast 4gs of buds. If you need to know something feel free to dm me, happy to help :)
I had before Qnubu, that smaller one (2-5ton? something like that) and the difference in yield and precise after DP 10T purchase was quite shocking. I pressed flower a lot and bubble hash. If you have a chance to test before buy, do it please. You will see the difference on your own :)
Wow just checked amazon is now flooded with budget rosin press machines that sits well within your budget.
I'd recommend you to get a 7-8 ton hydraulic rosin press (£250-450 on amazon) plus some micron bags and you're good to go. Only press the best buds for the best results.

Amazon's the safest place to buy, they will refund you even for the smallest issues if there's any.

I had also been tempted to make my own as I have the required skillset and tools… but by the time I’ve sourced the heating plates, temperature control, thermometer etc it actually works out more expensive.
You can diy it cheap, I made one about 10 years ago. For the plates I bought 2x aluminium blocks for about 20-40 quid from ebay and 2x rex-c100 digital PID controllers with ssr under 20 quid find the right size cartridge mold heating element about 5 each. Plus harbrour press can go from 50 - 400.
You can put together a cheap diy press for around 150-500 easy

All the mechanical stuff is easy for me, I could even make the arbour press itself if I wanted to… it’s the other electronic components that’ll require some learning. What you’ve written there has already helped me find what I need. Didn’t know what a PID controller was, I do now. Thanks man!
Yes, wiring the PID is the most challanging part. These come with solide state relay (ssr) which "turns" the heating cartridge on/off but still need to buy the heating cartridge seperatly.
So for the plates you need:
2x ex-c100 digital PID controllers with ssr
2x heating cartridges
2x aluminium plates
Need to drill 2 hole in each plate, 1 for the heating cartridge and 1 (ideally threaded) hole for the thermometer.
I used a scaffolding "foot" to attach the top plate to the rod from the press that needed 4 more threaded holes and used high temp instant metal to stick the bottom plate to the platform.

I'm hoping TSM do something to mitigate the number of people who post after the cut off, or even alter their posts (potentially unaware that that bumps it up to the top of the page, so it's then glaringly obviously).
Lots of these accounts are just created to post on competitions too, as there's absolutely no other interactions. Is it a case that constant bombardment may result in wins if there's no checking procedure, hence the behaviour?

Hi mate, yes we record all entries at 10pm on the cutoff day, so any entries after, or edits are not even logged

I’m slightly confused about the mass down votes on most people’s answers including mine? I’m assuming your under the assumption I’ve some how cheated along with the other people downvoted, while I can’t speak for any of them other than your just assuming I can only speak for myself, I completely agree people editing their answers after the cut of time is unfair and should be removed from entering further giveaways but if you decide to change your answer before the final cut off time then I think there’s nothing wrong with that whatsoever as I imagine the vendor notes all the answers from each person with their name during the cut off, that way they know who’s not cheating and editing after, I did say $67k Tuesday but realised I over shot so I changed it to $64,550 at 00:54am on the Thursday which again is before the cut off date. Whole thing just ruins a nice fun competition

The closest estimate to the average wind speed (Meters per second) recorded in London on Sunday 14th will win an ounce.
For example average wind speed was 10.9 M/S last Sunday, so the winner would have been the closest to this number.
If multiple people guess the same number and they win, the ounce will be split accordingly. Entries will finish at 13:00 on Saturday 13th.
I hope this makes sense lol

$78,899 - I am feeling that with the hot weather in the Northern hemisphere there will be a bit of aggro which will make people gravitate to an alternative store of value; many Western governments are increasingly close to a sovereign debt crisis prompting further investments in crypto. But, crucially, I don't expect any fiat defaults in the next week so only a modest upside. I may have overthought this :)

Hey biggas, IV been off tobacco now for 2 years but still smoking abit of green, one thing I do miss is a nice long joint, could anyone recommend a substitute for tobacco as it's expensive smoking blunts and prefer the smoking experience of a j, I've also tried vaping but didn't particularly like it
i know exactly what you mean, gave up fags 10y+ ago now & miss them like a hole in the head - a nice long joint is a different matter though. you can just buy cheap shake to use as a smoking mix or herbs like people have suggested but honestly i think it's actually the buzzy nicotine/weed combination we're really missing so probs no solution for that. i just smoke really small joints of bud, mostly, like americans in old films.
Can second the marshmallow leaf. Doesn't take long to get used to and actually adulterates the terps a lot less. Burns fine but quicker than tobacco cos its dry but its way better on your lungs and makes great zoots.
I was just looking at a pic of Rux's spliff on Budzinho's post and it made nostalgic for spliffs, i need some Notbaccy too, seems the Professor Herb might be the way to go for me!

Then I gave up combustion completely and got a S&B Mighty +… it’s not the same, it’s just not but I have gotten used to it. It can feel like hard work puffing my through 400mg of flower though. Now if I smoke a blunt it’s like eating an ashtray, so gross! I have really enjoyed live resin carts, they really hit the spot. I think the future is rosin, either dabbing or decarbing for carts. You get the hit of the whole fruit and it’s so convenient in a cart.

I've been using a product called real leaf a mix of marshmallow,mullein and raspberry leaves. It's great...smooth no roughness on the exhale
I either buy some low key landrace (Thai etc) or keep hold of a pleasant but weak strain in a jar for a long time, then use that when I want a blunt. Mostly smoke hash worms rolled with it though
I went through a period of using Damiana leaf after talking to a coffee shop owner in Dam and trying it. They banned tobacco in the coffee shops I seem to remember. Not the same as tobacco but quite pleasant.

There seem to be some flaws in the current reviews and orders system the way it used to work was much better.
The issue is this: When someone mistakenly leaves a 1/10 review, we used to be able to do a bit of detective work through our recent orders. It would show something like "based on 10 orders" (I can't remember the exact wording), and from that you could narrow down which order the review likely came from by cross referencing which of your buyers had left reviews and matching the numbers.
Now, there's no way to do that. This is going to hurt vendors who have sent out exceptional products but get penalised because a buyer either doesn't understand how the review system works or has simply made a mistake. It ends up reflecting badly on genuine vendors through no fault of their own.

For sure, those that are starting out or don't process many orders will have the worst impact of this.

Lucky enough we started up a couple of years ago I think things have changed since then in terms of how you get noticed or seen on the wall.

For a low calorie option I nibble chocolate coated rice cakes. Even if you end up eating the whole pack it’s not that bad.

Back when I was a lad the local Tesco had practically a whole aisle full of different Sodastream syrups made by various manufacturers that were no doubt full of dodgy colourings, flavourings, and various E numbers, but it was a glorious sight to behold. Can't remember if you can upgrade to premium parts like Sanwa Denshi, but I think you could. I'd go with one of those for general UK house space constraints. If I lived in the US then a massive room full of old actual arcade cabinets would be amazing. An alternative to the cabinet I mentioned would be to get a JAMMA-compatible cabinet and buy actual JAMMA game boards. That way it takes up a lot let space but is still the fully authentic experience.

Who actually can recommend the best Live Resin Disposables/50-50/shatter Carts on here and any honourable mentions?
Want something that is good quality and is a heavy hitter similar to a spliff.
Also bonus points for flavours that have a stealthier smell as discretion is much needed in my home.

For me, though carts can hit hard they also generally fade fast and don’t have the depths experienced when using weed, they literally can feel a little hollow. That said there is simply nothing to beat the convenience and stealth of a good cart. The secret is to get the very best quality you can as there are simply too many nefarious ingredients finding their way into your sauce.
Recently, I’ve been enjoying the live resin from Kid Carti which are also incredible value.

What are your thoughts on Canadian Imports Live Resin Carts, I've bought my first one today and it hits significantly differently, for relaxing in the evening I would go Live Resin every day of the week vs Distillate.
Yeah, I think they are very good. The only reason really to stick with distillate is for those on a very tight budget.
I ordered tracked 24. Ordered dispatched Friday and till now it's showing as they are expecting it from sender... I don't know what happening

Our pure gas cake sugar crumble carts have no d9 distillate no Pg or VG and no added fake terps they are 100 percent gas cake crumble decarbed for a very long time at a low temperature and added to high quality full ceramic carts .I think people will struggle to find carts with no additives .all of our products are totally natural
We make our own D9 with natural terps from cali, the only thing is they ain’t in a fancy package but the product is 10/10

I do think strain effects can vary enormously by individual. Many people don’t even have any faith in this sativa for energy and Indica for relaxing categories. I know I certainly get a buzz from some strains and I get to chill out on others.

Odins decarb hash is my favourite for putting me to sleep.
Roll it up, pack a bowl/vape, line a blunt or infuse with your hot chocolate before bedtime mate this is the most versatile hash in my opinion, especially as it’s already decarbed.

You want to look for an indica bud with dark amber crystals, that means the thc is converting to cbn and cbd, cbn is what you want.
You could try aging it by leaving some bud in a jar for a few months burping the jar to refresh the oxygen every day or two.
Ideally if you could grow your own just let the crystals mature to deep amber and that will be really sleepy
Decarb is also a really good shout as you can consume it in so many ways and it always puts me to sleep.

I always have a sleepy time strain in the house. Either in the form of hash, flower or a live resin cart. The stains that have been most effective recently are; OG Poison and Gumbo and Yoda OG.
I don’t find distillate carts effective for sleep as it’s just THC and I really need the hit of the whole fruit. So if it’s needs to be a cart then live resin is the way but it needs to be based on a indica strain.
Some vendors have excellent descriptons on their listing but if not then Leafy.com is a great resource.

I would try adding a g of hash to a teaspoon of cooking oil heat it on the stove untill it boils a bit and mix it all in, add to anything = sleep lots

Sod's Law that this is the one that would go wrong huh?.... you could tell when he asked a dozen times if it would hit hard and fired off everywhere when his Friday order hadn't arrived by Monday morning that it wouldn't end well LOL!

In future, would you like Carti to take a few hits from it to make sure it's working first? It's an electrical product. They can be faulty.
There is no coil, my carts are the same. Are you using the battery that Kid Carti supplies? Is it charged? Did a light on the bottom flash when you screwed in the cart? Does a light come on the bottom when you take a puff?
I use same battery. I put it to charge now but I don't know. Light are on when I take the puff and nothing comes out

If I may, looking at the pic the cart and battery should be flush there should be no silver showing.

The contents of vapes are like honey: when cold, it gets thick and doesn't flow.
So you need to warm it up before you can vape.
Some batteries/vapes have a pre-heat function: you press a button and it warms the coil.
If yours doesn't, you need to do it manually.
Leave it by a radiator/heater for 10 minutes or put it down your pants/under your armpit.
I do recommend you stay away from naked flames though.

My go too is don loco for me perfect menu well priced always good comms and bud is always quality. If your in ireland u should be ordering off him he also lands in 3 days to rural ireland somehow
I’ve been using The Green Team for bud and hash. Their comms are not good at all which I curse them for each time but the stuff always turns up in a fairly timely manner and the quality is good. For carts I use Vapeplug and they are excellent is every way If my latest order from TGT isn’t waiting for me when I arrive home tonight then I think I’m going to jump ship and go to the Spacemen.
Canadian Imports are a sure bet for Biggaz on the vaping side :)
I’d highly advise the gentleman dealers, stay clear of new sellers with less than <100 good reviews as they tend to treat this as their local street. (Was it sent? will you get a reply at all?) but they all write nice fancy posts tricking you.

FULL CONFESSION: I normally smoke spliffs full of tobacco, not very medicinal but certainly wherever i’ve been in europe, everyone does it!
I have a MFLB (magic flight launch box) which is a small portable dry herb vape that’s been gathering dust. Been using it again lately, the efficiency and lack of stink is amazing but you can only get small tokes off it so it doesn’t really ‘hit the spot’ like a nice filthy spliff. And i don’t really trust carts/liquids since synthetic cannabinoids are such a big problem here in UK.
Anyone recommend a preferably portable dry herb vape with a bit more power? I got the MFLB like 5 years ago so I imagine the tech’s way better these days.

The Mighty is epic imo but very big, bigger in person actually, the Crafty plus is where I’d be going if I were you.
I tried about 3 cheap ones. In the end I invested in a mighty. Worth every penny. Only downside is it's pretty big. I mean it just about fits in my pocket but it's kind of a home use only thing for me. For out and about I use my best cheap one which is a nectar v2. Cost about 60 quid and is small enough to just slip in your pocket next to your phone or wallet but still hits the spot.
You’ll be hard pushed to beat the Storz & Bickel Mighty, I tried not to pay that much but inevitably the road to getting the right thing lead me to it! Buy cheap twice (or three times for me!)
If I need portability the Mighty isn’t too bad but I prefer carts attached to a small 510 battery!

I use a pax at the minute, before that I used the Flower Aura which was only about 50 quid and worth every penny!
I use an arizer solo2 -expensive but amazing . My last one before was a flowermate V5 nano also really good to-great for outdoors as uses discrete pods

Quality is German level so not quite Swiss but still better than anything else. I use a quality 510 cart sourced from here with a Nectar Honeybee for out and about… and to get me through dinner time with four kids.
Edit: just reading through some of the other comments… the Arizer Solo 3 V2 does sound really good. It does the one thing I wish my Mighty did; work whilst charging. The only thing that puts me off is the glass tube that sticks out the top as I would have broken that at least twice by now.

I'm using a Boundless CF, which was a lot cheaper than the Crafty, Mighty or Pax3. It works great, I really like how discreet vaping is compared to smoking, but I seem to need to consume double the herb to get the same effect. Is it the same with the Pax or S&B vaporizers?
I found with the MFLB that no matter how much i vaped and reshuffled my herb, I could still smoke it afterwards!

I have a Pax 3 and Arizer extreme Q with Ddave mods. Both are great. For Pax3 make sure you buy an original one, a lot of fakes out there. The arizer; get the Ddave mod. Vaping is great, but there is a learning curve. A bit like pulling a good espresso. Ones you get it down, it is great and I think a nicer high.
I use a Pax 3. Superb range of temperature controls via bluetooth to your phone. Nice size bowl with different portion size adapters if you prefer a half sized bowl of herb. Good battery life as well. It has a stealth mode which eliminates any vapor smell

But a ball ache for heavy user and when you burn yourself, that was enough.
Grabbed a mighty and was great for daily use and fishing. However, must stay on top of cleaning, use kegs for ease of dosing and loading.
Now for home use I got the ruby twist and glass from recommended vape supplies.
This thing hits like a fucking truck with smoke like thick milky clouds that are full of terps!
Will use less and get VERY baked but it’s not portable at all.

Might I suggest the Arizer Solo 3? I think it's a touch expensive, but the build quality seems excellent. Out of my DHVs, this is more powerful. In fact, the clouds that you get from it have a similar throat feel to a joint IMHO. I've also an Xmax V3 and a Fog Pro, so I'm able to make a meaningful comparison, I reckon. The vapour path is all glass and it has two oven sizes. The larger of which seems to take around 0.3g, which may address the bowl size issue you were concerned with. The Solo 3 is easy to clean, too. It's a bit bulky, but then that's probably the tradeoff when making a powerful unit like this.
I've had a few higher end dhvs inc mighty plus and I think for cleaning and hit and taste and effects the arizer solo 3 is the best to tick all the boxes, the mighty is a shithouse to clean, arizer just one glass tube in some iso prop alcohol rinse and I'm good to go, I don't even use the gauze
If you're coming from smoke and trying to quit, electronic vapes wont touch it for you IMHO.
If you're not planning to ditch tobacco you'll struggle. If you are, get a Dynavap or more likely a StickyBrick. Same concept as MFLB but neater and easier (dyna) bigger hitter (stickybrick).
Once the tobacco is long gone, electronic vapes become more useful.

I mainly use my Arizer Solo 2, its an absolute workhorse. When with friends who vape, i use the Dynavaps. I still have the odd spliff but 90% of the time im vaping and its the Arizer. .great bit of kit and there might be a few deals soon due to Black Friday events.

I got a Pax 2 a couple of months ago. Pretty much all I use now. Was on pipes, bongs & the odd spliff mixed with mallow leaf or cbd flower before. Love the way you can treat it like a spliff & go back to it for puffs. Also my lungs don’t feel so fucked when I go for a run.
No reason for me to use anything else at the moment. Does the trick well. May have a bucket session just to plumb the depths again soon though ;-)

Have a look for a Flower Aura Vaporiser. They are class. It has a chamber for hash and one for wax too. I'm the same as you. I need a kick in my throat to make up for it not being joint. This definitely does the trick. I have a Pax 2 also. Equally as good but the Flower Aura is about 55 quid :)
