I agree. There is individual fear, and collective fear. Individuals in America have stressful lives and poor parenting for the majority. Individual fears that hold people back include fear of death, fear of failure, fear of inadequacy (not being good enough). Mass fear includes fear of authority, fear of pandemics, fear of being taken over as a country. Fear can be dealt with by acknowledging and facing the fear with nonresistance. Still, fears are often not recognized because they are not on a conscious level. I do believe that meditation, psychedelic therapy, and transpersonal therapy can uncover subconscious fears and be released from their power.
State-sponsered fear is not unique to the US. Capitalism and communism both generate fear, but in the US, where capitalism has run amok, it is more subtle. US citizens tend to believe that they live in a democracy, yet there has been no progress in the 1 percenters sharing resources with the middle class and poor. Individuals have less rights to express their views because the powers at be that transcend political parties control the agenda of the media and the government. Through TV and other newspapers, citizens are programmed to live their lives in a controlled state of mind. The most pertinent of issues do not make the headlines. I could elaborate more, but just note that societal fear is a response to the denigration of individual rights, where the average citizen thinks that nothing they do or say will be acknowledged or change anything.

Rush would agree that today the only health care systems completely controlled by government are those with socialist-run systems such as Canada and GB. Health care is available to everyone in the U.S. (as are other essential things like food and shelter) and the care here is among the best in the world (if not THE best). The idea that health care is something more special than, say, food or shelter is an idea born in the mind of Marxists (hard to say which) as a means to take control of the masses. I have 3 weeks off this August and would like to see the United States for the 1st time. I can get a visa but I am worried about hassles from immigration, the police, etc based on everything I see that happens there. It’s not a cheap trip and if there’s a chance it’s going to get ruined I’s rather go somewhere else even though I have always wanted to drive across America.
When people talk about America, they speak as if it’s all one place but it’s actually different states all over so if you can imagine Texas can be Scotland and California is England. So what we see on the news doesn’t happen in every state as some states have a lot of mixed communities in comparison to others. So I guess you would be fine in general just be careful where you go.♥️

Then I went to Vegas and did a bit of a Harley Davison road trip. I found nothing but warm generosity from everyone I met along the way. As those above, people of all races went out of their way to be more kind and helpful than I've ever experienced at home.

It's not as bad as it looks on tv! Black people are a hugely important part of American culture and the object of love and admiration across a lot of different sub cultures. The immigration and law enforcement officers you are talking about are very likely to be African American themselves.
Yes there are some places where the inner city conflicts with the suburbs and its surely a racial situation but that's an isolated phenomenon and is unlikely to come up on your trip.

I’m a white American leftist, and I’ve got my eye on social policy all over the place. Obviously America is reckoning with its generations-old, overt racist culture right now, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go see a gorgeous country. Wherever you go, the police will likely be 100% dogshit because that’s what police are. Absolute bottom line, I hope this post is old as fuck because PLEASE don’t travel, PLEASE don’t push these guidelines for COVID
You should be fine, just avoid Washington and Oregon if possible. They aren't the most welcoming.
You're not likely to get any hassles from immigration. As for the police, you should be OK. The precaution you'll have to take with them will be to a) avoid as discreetly as possible and, b) if they do engage you, cooperate at all times and never be argumentative in any way. If you have a legit problem with an American officer, take it up through legal channels AFTER the incident. Never during. That is a sure way to escalate.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Once the accent is evident and they know you are a tourist there should be no hassle, provided you are breaking no laws - also something to be careful with since laws vary from state to state. Smoke safe, smoke free.
It's not to that degree at all. Some may go out of their way to accommodate you out of shame.
Have an awesome time, in the south you will be the majority race in most situations (at least the fun ones).

Simply replace dumb offensive weapons with intelligent defensive ones.

A huge industry is waiting once this direction is set and it’s a rare example where a leader can set something so important in motion. A police force equipped with such weapons would not only save lives it would restore confidence, replacing fear with respect.

There have been attempts to make guns smarter. It seems they have been stymied by legislators that tried to make them mandatory before they even got on the market. Then the NRA got busy.
Guns are not the problem, they never have been. Why not start laying the blame where it belongs, with the people using a gun to kill and injure other people. A gun doesn’t kill or injure anybody unless a human being is pulling the trigger. You are partially correct; Guns are not the problem…..the bullets are. It’s bullets that kill. Let the loons have/keep their guns. Just get rid of the ammo (not easy I know, but spring it on the population in a surprise move and watch the killings drop).
