I think the upvote/downvote system has about as much effect as a dog barking, it offers nothing constructive. In fact one could argue a dog barking is voicing their issue better than the human clicking arrows. Kind of sad what we have become.

It would be nice if you could block said user so you don't get a notification every time they do it.

I'd love to see some of this stuff man! Someone mentioned a "stock counter" idea recently too and I think that'd be great, especially for smaller vendors like myself. If I could put in exactly how much I had, and then have that number go down automatically as things are sold, that'd be pretty helpful for both me and the customer. Although, now that I think about it, bigger vendors may have multiple kilos of any one product at any time, and that may not be something to advertise!
Either way, I'd love to see some more improvements come to LB, whatever they may be!

LB Backroom boys are still staring at the square wheel every day and wondering why it goes clump clump clump as they try to move forward. Many Biggas over the years have suggested trying a round version and whilst remaining sceptical they have promised to put a team on it sometime in the future….

I'm just not even sure what the site structure is. Are there admins actively working on it? Or just moderators to manually remove bad accounts and suchlike?

Its a bit of a mystery. However if we judge LB on the speed of changes made over the years then you'll understand my attempt at humour.

Its fair to say I think that we are not dealing with a team of cutting edge tech bros, more likely stoned out hippies. Which is kinda nice really but does frustrate some people when they can see obvious improvements that never actually happen.

A good example is a shift to alternative payment methods. This was last hotly debated about 18 months ago when LB offered hard cash for developers to work with them. Some came forward and we received some exciting updates on the projects progress. Then for the last year or more tumbleweeds have blown across the LB prairie as all has returned to what it was with total silence on the taboo subject and many Biggas migrating to the proliferation of alternatives stealing the opportunity.

Yeah and thats a really good thing. Nothing wrong pushing for improvements and offering practical help. It just goes wrong when Biggas fly into a rage when nothing happens. (And generally, nothing happens. That said in the last few years we have gained a Keyword Search and a multiple buy cart both of which have made life much easier. So it can happen, just slowly).

The only complications I could foresee depend on the type of database being used and how the data is structured

I find it much harder to look at a bud and understand how good or bad it probably is when it's dancing around on the screen. Trying to get a good glance is like trying to catch a Pokémon.

When there's loads of these in the feed it looks like homer Simpsons first website. Also I find writing a review harder for a gif product as a opaque moving image sits behind the box you type in. After blasting a few smokes it's most disconcerting.

I think removing the ability to post GIFs as a main product image would improve listings and the experience of LB users.

So it's been a couple of weeks and still nothing has really happened as far as coming up with a solution to bring some stability in the pricing for the buyers and vendors, and now that the dollar to pound conversion rate has very very quickly hit it's worst rate on record, and it's clearly showing no signs of slowing down, what are we going to do about this?

one final thing i would like to add biggas that a lot of you probably wouldn't have even seen at the time, or joined long after, but about 2 years ago, before we had initiatives, i was very outspoken about the fact that the BTC prices on here used to be only set in 5 digits, for example 0.0050BTC, and with the instability of BTC, this lead to us never being able to actually pay the correct amount for our orders (0.0057464BTC < how prices look now) often having to pay way more than the order is worth because we didn't have the correct amount of decimal places, this was hugely frustrating and it was costing everyone a fortune, and after making topic after topic screaming at the top of my lungs about how much we need extra decimal places and then out of nowhere with no explanation we were finally given this much needed change when LB went under it's overhaul a couple years back! i wanted to end on that, for the biggas that thought that i'm just bitching, i'm not, i poured so much energy into those topics to benefit all of us, the amount of money that we have all saved since the decimal place change would have surpassed the hundreds of thousands of £ quite some time ago, just like the change i'm asking for now, it's going to save so many people so much money at a time when we coudn't possibly need it more.

when have you ever gone to your dealer and he's said "sorry mate that quarter is going to cost you an extra tenner today because of inflation"... that's just not how inflation works in relation to cannabis

FOR - Despite the complete collapse of the £ it is still the most stable currency to use because 95% of buyers and sellers are in UK and the £ is the currency we use. This means that a listing of £100 will always be £100 today, tomorrow, next week if its still listed at £100 then you will still pay £100 - this is stability. A $100 listing is £76 then £78 then £82 then £86 then £90 now it's £95even though its still listed unchanged at $100 - that is instability.

Sellers don't want to adjust their prices every day depending on international markets that have no baring on their business.

FOR - preferably stable coin, then theirs no issues with payment release dates of 16days for vendors who are then stuck in huge currency fluctuations and this year alone has seen at least 3 occasions of the escrows halving in value within that 16 day period.

It does not make sense, not with the pressures of staying stealth and not being caught by the bizzes we now have to have a degree in economics just to make sure have enough to pay our supplier's in 2 weeks for the reload or have enough money for fuel etc.

The world is at a financial knife edge and if this does not get sorted some poor vendors going to be getting a hiding or 2 from some pissed off supplier who wants their money the plain facts.

100% behind this initiative but sadly I think the site owners don't care. They posted last week about prioritising things behind the scenes. I've not once seen a feature the community has asked for implemented here. I get the feeling the site is run part time by a small group. I know of other marketplaces that have even the most basic of features... dated posts, search features, pages that don't take minutes to load if they have more than 200 topics on them. I can get over the dated posts and loading times but I can't get over the prices. The other place I buy from has lots of flower variety (shit for carts and edibles etc) but flower has always been £37.50 for eighths and doesn't change. It think the LB staff maybe reached the limit of their abilities. Simple functions that any other online marketplace in the world has, the LB staff don't to have the knowledge/time/tools to implement.

The current 16 day escrow is laughable and a potential exit scam waiting to happen... the option for the customer to finalize on delivery hurts no-one

Hey Emz, yeah pretty sure it's null and void at this point, i should have dated the original post i guess but i didn't think we would be facing the same problems over a year later

I think someone mentioned that this topic was open so i tried to revive it and also started a new one.

It has been noted but the issue is the dev work that needs to be done is a fairly big job that from what I am gathering hasn’t got much incentive.

I also know blockhead have announced they are setting up an alternative recently.

for newer biggas that are unsure of the context of some of the replies in this topic, it was created over a year ago when not only did we still have the same problem of literally being robbed by fees, but we also had the problem of every single dollar costing 92p, rather than the 81p it is now which made every single order considerably more expensive for absolutely no reason other than the site being set to the wrong currency for it's customer base

over a year later, all these votes, and we still have all the same problems apart from those same problems essentially being worse than they were a year ago due to cost of living crisis etc,

all these problems could and should have been solved over a year ago

the outcome of resolving these problems means everyone has more money to buy more weed and everyone wins in every possible way

Not gonna lie I would love to save money being on the side of the buyers however, I do feel the conversion rate inflation we feel is balanced by the loss the vendors can take in BTC. It seems like a harmony that is keeping this site going...even if only barely. I will add that if BTC has a nice rise than vendors should reduce their prices accordingly.

What I do to satisfy both the future buyers and vendors is to just give them a 10/10 but give a longer and more thorough review with good and bads about the product

this one needs a lot of work, and a lot of thought given. there's a lot of sociology/psychology to consider i guess? definitely wont be a simple fix. but i 100 % agree this is in serious need of resolution. the rating system is busted as is

I would go in the other direction: fewer, but more definitive options.

So "Would you buy this product again?" and "Would you buy from this vendor again?".

And the "days to arrive" metric isn't much use without knowing what service was used and who paid for it.

You'd think that some metrics could be automated by pulling them from LB: eg orders not sent within four days are automatically cancelled.

But yes, the 10/10 system isn't very useful, as it's entirely subjective with no consistency between users and open to manipulation.

I’ve seen a vendor openly complain about a 9/10 rating that seemed justified. Like you’ve suggested, if the rating could be split between services, like service - stealth - value - quality

That way you could rate for each and the overall vendor rating isn’t tarnished if people honestly rate the quality.

I’ve been fairly disappointed with apparently 10/10 smokes this year and agree the reviews are basically useless

I believe installing a week probation period will limit the amount of spam and directed attacks on the community it also allows for a more transparent accurate voting and comment system and also leads to higher trust.

I also believe certain attacks i've seen calling random people child abusers and terrorists will only make this site more and more suspect to the uk authorities.
