As I mentioned to Rux, I've been spending this year getting away from combustion and managed to mainly achieve it for flower (volcano) and my puffco peak (extracts) - however, this still leaves all the lovely looking hashes that don't work in either

My good Bigga, if your goal is simply to get away from combustion, then you're already heading in the right direction. Burning flower will always create smoke and all the extra byproducts that come along with it.

A lot of people swear by Volcanoes and other high-end dry herb vaporizers because they let you enjoy the flower itself without actually burning it. If you still love the taste and experience of cannabis flower, that's probably one of the best places to start.

On the other hand, if you're interested in concentrates, then a proper quartz banger and D-Nail setup is hard to beat. The temperature control is incredibly precise, the flavour can be phenomenal, and you're vaporising the extract rather than combusting it. When paired with clean, high-quality extracts, it provides a very clean and efficient experience.

At the end of the day, there isn't really a single "best" answer. A Volcano is fantastic for people who love flower, while a quartz and D-Nail setup is fantastic for people who love concentrates. The real win is moving away from combustion and finding the method that suits you best.

Yes you're right, I do have a peak and it's awesome. But whilst the volcano does the dries and the peak the wets, there's still a range of products I can't vaporize - non full melt hash. It just doesn't work and chars the inside of the chamber unless it's super high end hash or rosin/resin/wpff

I was editing while you responded, sorry, as I'd just registered the non-full melt part. If you're cool with combustion then I'd suggest you get a HØJ KØL for 'general' hash. The mini version is a really good pipe and super easy to clean.

The search for the best hash vaping experience has been long and hard amigo.

For me soft hashes rolled into snakes, coiled and placed in a dosing capsule for the Mighty or Venty (with a little cotton bacon) are about as good as it gets and its not perfect. I agree that the wire pads are rubbish. At least there is no ball breaking clean up as there is with the Vapman, Pufco Proxy etc.

Hard hashes can only really be crumbled into weed in my experience. They need the intense heat of flame. The little Vapman is interesting as you torch the golden oven from below but it takes a fair amoiunt of technique. Get it right and the hits are great but its inconsistent and fiddly to clean. I'll be fishing it out and running some tests with Cats Piatella (which works fine in the Venty) and TGS Mimosa dry sift this very weekend.

It's a bit of a shame really. I find that most hashes, whether they be old school earthy/spicy types or the newer fruity fresh frozen varieties, smell incredible.

That being said, the moment I stopped combusting and moved to just vaping, the taste became imperative.

It almost feels like a gap in the market when there's effectively no good way to vaporize hash unless it's ultra refined

Try a Glenn Briars Hash Pipe with quartz wand…..this is the only way I vape hash. Not too expensive either.

I exclusively vape my Hash nowadays. I now own and abuse a Venty after years with a Mighty and have always had great results sandwiching hash between layers of weed. Either crumbled or pressed into a flat disc, depends on the material.
I bought a Dynavap but couldn’t suss it so it now collects dust in the back of a cupboard.

I use Pax devices - when I get to the end of the flower I am vaping I just open the chamber, make a little hole in the vaped weed, and drop a blob of hash in there. Works great, you get the flavour and the effect quite nicely.

Hash tastes completely different when vaped or smoked other than in a joint, and it has a completely different effect on you too. Get a decent pipe and apply flame to it. It'll taste as near to what you'd like if the pipe/whatever is super clean. I enjoyed using the Køl pipe, but some hash just melted through the gauze. Never really found anything as easy and flavourful as combusting hash, so if you're completely against combustion then maybe try something high quality like piatella and use it in tiny amounts in cotton bacon or in the centre of some bud. Could potentially do what you want at not a large change in cost.

I just realised that you probably never actually ordered from the OG Hashishin. Legendary stealth, shipped from the Middle East, and best Temple Balls (and old school hash in general) most people have ever smoked. $110 for a 10g Temple Ball, plus shipping, if I remember correctly. He earned the name. Hope he's ok as he hasn't been on here for a long time now.

I've been using some fresh frozen fruitopia as bowl topper over shake to really let it stand out (and help it melt proper) but you mainly get a burnt taste when comparing to having a volcano or a puffco

I need to try some of Cat's piatella in my Peak Pro. It's a nightmare to get off your fingers when AI put some of it in a joint, so maybe a Puffco hot knife to get it in the chamber is the way forward.

The hot knives are brilliant for handling concentrates. You can get budget ones from Amazon if you type in "510 ceramic hot knife" - got mine for £25 instead of like 70

If you're into concentrates I highly suggest THC23s WPFF. It's basically rosin with a tiny bit of leftover plant matter which you can get off w a q tip easily

I have been solely a consumer of hash for 30 odd years. Smoking to cutting out nicotine and using only a pipe to vaping. Can honestly say with the vapes I have owned— sapphire, xmax pro, Dynavaps, fury edge, xmax roffu and tinymight 2–I have never failed to make them work fine with hash, any type of hash or even concentrate. Imo THEbest way to vape it is to sandwich it between 2 pieces of vape wool/ organic cotton. UNLESS the particular vape is conduction only( oven walls are heated to provide heat) as opposed to convection ( air is heated and flows through the hash). Hash needs to be in contact with the oven walls with conduction vape. Just takes a bit of experimentation but it definitely works. Connecting them up to glassware bong makes it so smooth you can take massive hits with zero discomfort…it’s mental. 6 months ago I took the plunge and bought a tinymight 2. For days I couldn’t get the results I wanted with hash. I thought fucking hell I’ve wasted my money it’s not doing the business I’ll have to sell it….then one day I tried using a basket screen and in it 2 very thin discs of vape wool with a flat piece of hash in between and well fuck me! Massive clouds time after time. I’m saying some electric vapes will work with hash. If you want a budget one that will defo work get the Roffu. It will work using the sandwich method. I got blasted on a mountain at 3, 500 metres and it was fucking cold too! Dynavap absolutely, even better the madheaters tempest 2( never used one but heard very good things) Hope this helps. Vaping is the way for me. Oh aye, forgot one VERY important point…always stir the hash after the first hit. Agitate it, move it around. The second and third hits will be massive.

With a Glass Charley mouthpiece you might be able to remove the capsule...unless you have already purchased because they are so much easier for cleaning than the a tube of balls or a multi piece filter

Works ok, but too much of a faff, and damn messy.

I bought a Peak Pro 3DXL earlier in the year so I'd me intrigued by input on this. I'm clueless, apart from watching a few videos with people with ludicrously coloured attachments. I don't even know how to choose a terp pearl, or how they spin around.

AFAIK (from my yocan orbit) you can get these joystick replacements that blow directional air in, spinning these quartz pearls that heat up and keep the corners unstuck

So all in all you get better yields and bigger clouds without having to fidget supposedly

Well that's the catch - the pearls don't spin with the standard build, so you need to get a replacement spinner cap to get quartz balls working on your setup. But as davedawgg mentioned, the wym looks to do the same thing and be much cleaner so I may opt for that and report back 🫡

Oh, of course there's additional expense/mods! I'm sticking to joints then, and I'm going to put B&H cigs in it too.

Bro I’ve worked it out, for hash rosin 60 seconds on 60 seconds off is about 600c for bho id heat for the same amount of time and leave for 90 seconds, I used to have the temp things so I made sure just to time it, every dab I have is on point, dabs are only wasted if it too hot, you can just buy a dab rite then you can hit it at what ever temp you like, I just don’t like the fact is all made in china

Yeh in UK our options are very limited compared to the US. The ‘new peak’ version of 3dxl atomiser is the 3GXL but again that’s an import from US. The bay has it as 3 grams puffy peak chamber but again it’s a US import. You hear mixed reviews about spinners for our version of the peak. I ordered a Wym stick and had it sent over from US…she’s a beast! I love it so much…huge milky hits with it and Wym himself is awesome to deal with.
Id love to take the plunge and get the 3GXL atomiser and be able to get lots of sick glass pieces but b4 you know it you might as well of got the peak pro with the money spent 😝
Tuff tethers have a good adapter for our model but I can’t find any peoples reviews of it so I haven’t looked to much into it (but in theory it’s a beast)

For me personally I’d say it was. Changing the air flow restriction is what I was looking for. It does put extra strain on the silicon grommet when it hangs and mine has started to come apart. That is why I’m interested in the tuff tethers adapter as spending £30 on a new grommet seems bs to me.

The one with the grenade bubbler? I got that one. Less expensive than others but fantastic. Used terp pearls for about 3 sessions, realised there was f all difference to hit, flavour or experience, apart from more cleaning due to sticky balls... so they now collect dust.

I know this thread isn't about e-rig alternatives but unless someone else can really, really convince me about terp pearls/balls whatever, I would recommend don't bother. Then again, each to their own but if anybody does buy some, buy plenty because you will lose some!

If you have the grenade bubbler for the peak then omg I am so jealous! That top looks ace! My friend got some pearls for his glass rig and when it actually worked then I could notice the longer, more cloudy and better hits. But my god was it a pain to get going for us. Needed to be on a completely level surface and always needed a quick big pull at the start to get them spinning and that in turn can lead to product going into areas that are a nightmare to clean. I totally see that they are great for people who have the rite setup and know what they are doing but for us it just wasn’t practical which is a shame. Like you say, it just creates more cleaning (which sucks if you don’t have them working like others do).
