"Famous" people loved but gone before
"Famous" people loved but gone before
Prompted to start this because I just found out Andy Kershaw passed last month. I'm not into hero worship but there's some people that just play a big part in your life. For me Andy, Annie Nightingale, John Peel. Set me thinking about "famous" people that influence our lives whether we like it or not. Of course goes beyond radio. For me literature especially. Hunter S Thompson, W G Sebald, Vasily Grossman, Michael Moorcroft, Denton Welch prime examples. Then music Tom Waits, Neil Young, Ry Cooder. Anyway the list could go on. What are your influences?

That's one I can't go with mate. Sid was just a poster boy. Couldn't play, couldn't write. Just looked good sneering in a biker jacket. For me the saddest thing is he is what people mostly remember about punk yet he contributed so little. He was a sad junkie. As for Nancy I recommend you read "And I Don't Want to Live This Life" by her Mum. It will break your heart.

Sad junkie lmao
Did you ask what peoples influences are just so you can rip on them? Thats pretty weak my guy, sid (john) was given heroin by his mother at 16, dudes life was chaotic and tragic, for him to pass at 21 from the drugs his mother introduced to him is horrible, the guy was gone way before his time which is what your post is about
Also it doesnt get any more punk rock than the sex pistols

By the way noticed you've been going back and voting down all my posts. Well if you're going to be that petty and childish then two can play at that game so will be doing the same to you. Have fun!

Sorry mate didn't mean to offend you. Just expressing an opinion as someone who was there in the 70s. Yes Sid's life was tragic, but as for punk he contributed very little other than an image. There was so many others that really meant something to the movement. John Ritchie was just a sad albeit good looking junkie. You choose your heroes mate, it's up to you.

Wholeheartedly agree.
Tbh I think the sex pistols have always been massively overrated and labeled iconic when you have bands like the clash with actual musical talent

Punk rock isnt about who has better musical talent
"The Clash recognized the Sex Pistols as the vital catalyst of the UK punk scene. They knew the Pistols were the first to detonate the mainstream rock establishment and grab national attention, opening doors for bands that followed"
The sex pistols were iconic

Punk wasn't about musical talent. In fact it was the opposite. That was the whole point. That said just being a pretty boy for the colour supplements as Sid was went against everything that punk stood for. Johnny was dangerous, Siouxsie was dangerous, Sid was a puppet.

Your post is about people who passed before there time and what peoples influences are
To just straight up rip on them for posting theirs is pretty foul, have another drink pal
Obviously people arent influenced by his bass playing skills alone but regardless he learned bass and a few months later was touring the uk and europe
him being an amateur bassist doesnt make his death any less tragic, which again, thats what your post is about, people that passed before there time

Oh grow up ffs. So I'm "ripping on" Sid Vicious. Maybe you need to look at the heroes you worship. Maybe you're just into the whole junkie chic, the shallow image without looking beyond it. He had no bass playing skills, it was purely his image that appealed to easily led people like you. The man had nothing else to offer. He was an empty shell nurtered and created by Malcolm McLaren to fool easily led sheep like you. Get a grip.

"Heroes you worship" lol he simply posted a picture of someone that passed before there time, wind down pal youve had a few too many tonight 😂 yes you did rip on him you just said he was a sad junkie that couldnt play bass
He was a bass player in a rock band he didnt need to be an extraordinary player and even if he was that wouldnt make his passing any less tragic, not surprised at all that in your other post you were talking about being lonely, what an arsehole 😂
Guy is now downvoting my competiton entries how sad lol

I actually just realised you wanker that you're not even the guy I was replying to. You're just some sad tosser thinking he's speaking up on someone else's behalf. You have a particular axe to grind for some reason?

I hate to interrupt a man crush battle but how about the Damme that pimped that ass and built an empire that outlasted punk.

Jesus you really are a tosser. And you're over doing the whole "had a few too many" thing. You're like a broken record. Try playing a different tune, or is that beyond your limited imagination? Face it mate, you're a dumb prick. Go fuck yourself. And in the meanwhile I'll keep on voting down your posts like you are with mine. I'm not proud of sinking to your childish level but whatever. You do unto me and I will do unto you.

So youre triggered because you know I'm right 😂 someone simply replied to your post with a person that passed before there time, to rip on said person because he wasent an incredible bass player is completely out of order, the guy passed at 21 doesnt matter how good at bass he was, put the beer down fella its monday night
I've only downvoted your posts on this thread, youre off your head haha
Guy just downvoted 27 of my posts and comments, hes clearly not well

Grow a pair of balls mate and own up. No one will condemn you for it. Take care my friend.

…
Oh fuck off you pathetic little cunt. You're just a boring little troll shit and I can't be bothered with you anymore. You're probably standing for Reform in some election somewhere. A sad small dicked bigoted mysoginist still living with his parents and trying to big himself up on the web to make up for how sad his own lonely sexless small life is. Maybe you should just have another wank and go to bed now. Night night!

Oh well seems you'd rather vote my comments down than actually present a counter argument. Maybe you just need to grow up and get a life.

I'm just fearing the day I hear David Attenborough has passed. I'll need to take an emergency week off work. As would most of the country lol

I read somewhere the other day that some kid reckoned that David Attenborough was really God and because people weren't paying enough attention to His creations He had to manifest in human form and make engaging documentaries so we'd understand how amazing it all was. I kinda like the idea

Not dead - but I saw Orbital at Sheffield Octagon in the early 90's. DJ booth in the middle of the room. 2 fellas with head torches playing 1800 ravers - with meaning. Changed my view on what one could do with their time that lasts to this day.

Around the time of Yellow and Brown, or just Yellow? One of my worst experiences at Glastonbury was seeing Orbital in '97 or '98 as the acoustics were appalling. Aphex Twin in the dance tent was better, but my mate fell asleep on the grass, in 2 different ways.

Must have been '94 because Snivilization featured heavily and that was the year I quit fixing tractors and enrolled at art college.

I cried my eyes out when Bowie died. Only the death of John Lennon and Terry Hall affected me that way. Maybe Tom Petty too. I was lucky enough to see Bowie play live in '73 on one of the last gigs on his Ziggy tour. The man was a one-off.

Saw Tom live on the Damn the Torpedoes tour at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1979. One of the best gigs of my life. He was so good.

A step closer to the 21st Century
A step closer to the 21st Century
Only recently found out about the index. Glory be and hallelujah. Now all we need for complete happiness is for any click on a link to not take the time to load that porn did on my Power Mac 30 years ago. Seriously, that was a dial up modem, there's no excuse now! Sometimes searching this site is like playing Doom 3D back in the day. Surely the site owners make enough bread to invest a little?

The high as fuck danger wank as the picture loaded line by line... I think the jankiness is part of the presentation of this site though mate. People look at it and move on.

Fair point mate but seriously you do have to ask yourself can't things be improved a bit. I know the old school look is part of the charm of the site but sometimes it can seem a little unnecessary. A bit masochistic almost. A little tarting up shouldn't be impossible and would hardly be expensive.

Being able to block people would be fantastic, as would some less volatile payment method. I joke about it, but I swear I lose money on almost every transaction, especially if I hold it between purchases.

Whilst LB’s bygone clunkiness may be what endears many Biggas to it, I’m not being unkind when I say I believe the hippies that run this place are actually at the limit of their technical prowess. This is evidenced by the fact that they often post asking Biggas for tech support. Transaxe.com is the engine that runs the shop which is why they have been unable to introduce alternative payment methods.
Long live LB❤️

how the hell do you find anything on this site?
how the hell do you find anything on this site?
I've posted on several subjects. Had many recommendations for sellers that I could possibly benefit from. Tell me how the fuck I can find them because I'm probably being stupid but damned if I can find a way. I've tried Google search "littlebiggy ........." nothing. There has to be an easy way to find a particular seller surely? I ask because there is a seller of shroom microdosing capsules I really want to order from but fecked if I can find them.

Opposital digits. And biggy index. I use the former.
Sorry, not meaning to be sarcastic.
The little biggy index will refine your searches perfectly. Search for little biggy index. It will narrow your field.

Hallelujah! I didn't even know there was an index! You may just have changed my life. Thanks

I'd just got on the items page and press keyword and type 'microdos' then you will be left with any items containing the words microdose and microdosing. You can search for vendor if you know their name👍

I know they're here but this site is not the easiest to navigate at the best of times and I'm lazy. Any recommendations welcome. All the best!

Thanks a lot mate. I think they were the guys I was thinking of just that I find it difficult to find particular sellers here. It's my problem not theirs that's for sure. Just I don't find it the easiest of places to navigate.

I've been using RocketDogRonnie's 0.2g capsules for the last 2 years or so. They're consistent, keenly priced, and Rocket is always happy to give any advice needed via DM. They provide a mood lift and help me deal with highly stressful situations.

No problem mate. Rocket will be fine with you sending a message about questions you may have before ordering. I just get another 30 when I'm close to running out. 4 days on and 3 days off worked best for me, or flip that to 3 on and 4 off. Or 1 on, 1 off, repeat. See what works for you. Then look into Stamets Stack, but I don't want to overwhelm you with information.

weed vs booze
weed vs booze
I did a lot of dope back in the late 60s early 70s. Did pretty much everything apart from smack. Then 50 years ago alcohol became my drug of choice. Apart from the occasional dabbling I've stuck with the drink ever since. Trouble is I'm 70 now and my tolerance is so high it takes a lot of booze to do the trick. Plus I know it's fucking me up physically. I need 8% abv beer and whisky to scratch the itch. So I found this site to see if weed could help me dial the booze down. Hasn't worked for me sadly. I do both and I still want more. Sorry, I'll cut it short now. Realised I don't really know what I'm seeking, I'm just whining. Maybe there is no answer to my particular problem. What do you do when nothing is good enough?

Maybe now is the time to accept that replacing one addiction for another won't cancel each other out?
I'm a true believer in that some people are into drinking, some into smoking, others into both. But regardless of your vice, having that desire to chase a feeling isn't something that'll get better by alternating the chase
Just some food for thought. Sorry you're feeling this way mate. Might be worth seeking out some help

I’ve always been a big drinker and I simply love the bloody stuff. Weed just entices me to drink more. I find it a great combination. Yup, 8% beers- lovely kegs of Belgian brews like Kwak, Leffe & Tripel Karmaleit are my absolute faves! All matched with super premium tequilas and bourbons- bloody lovely!
I used to drink every day of the week but now I take Mon-Thurs off and really enjoy the detox, good sleep etc and then pan it for the rest of the week.
Relax. Stop beating yourself up. Be here for a good time, you’ve already had a long time. ❤️😘

Always enjoy your comments mate. You speak a lot of sense. When my marriage ended like you I used to drink every night. Now through willpower alone I've whittled myself down to three evenings a week. It's not easy but I've kept to it a long while now. Of course on those three evenings I binge drink myself stupid. Last night I passed out around midnight and woke up in the armchair around 6am. Was coasting on Skol Super this evening but got bored so just been round the offie and bought a bottle of Scotch. I just need anything that will shut out the depression, boredom and loneliness for a couple of hours at least. Something to take me to a different place for a short while. Take care mate, I maybe wrong but I like to think you are a kindred spirit.

You may not want to hear this but you need jesus christ. Having faith in something bigger than ourselves can help us improve our lives exponentially by breaking us away from our vices. I've never been much of a drinker more of a class A upper kind of vibe but it got so bad I sold the 3 cars I had, lost my home and I shit you not tried selling the clothes I was wearing for a line. It all started to get better when I sought the lord. Even if you think I'm talking nonsense, you can only know if you try.
Stay blessed bigga

Thank you I appreciate your sentiment. I'm 70 now and have been an atheist all my life and will stay so until the end. That said I respect anyone's belief's and will defend their right to believe whatever they wish even if I don't share their views. Take care my friend.

We each believe what we experience and that is subjective to all of us. Making it to 70 and still finding things to enjoy means you've done something right. I pray you find a happiness true to you and like pollypuff said, dont beat yourself up too much brother.
Have a blessed evening

Have you considered psilocybin (magic mushrooms)?
Many people report that the experience allows them to see their addiction from a "birds-eye view," realising that the substance is no longer a necessary part of who they are.
It can also help individuals confront underlying trauma or depression that may be driving the addiction, rather than just treating the craving itself.
I've been trying microdose capsules from here, just a small, unnoticeable amount of magic mushroom powder added to capsules with other types of mushrooms like Lions Mane & cordyceps and the mood lift is very noticeable after a few days of consistent use.
Also tried a stronger dose over Christmas for the actual trip and that did have positive results long after the trip had worn off.
Have a look at some of the offerings on here, fungal-cate is a good supplier
By the way, I also have chronic tinnitus, the microdose capsules actually reduced the noise significantly, even stops it on occasion (which was utter bliss!)
Good luck 👍

Thanks mate. I've actually contributed to another thread on shrooms. To keep it short I bought a choc bar a few weeks ago with the intention of microdosing. Basically I haven't had the nerve to try it yet. It's 4g a bar divided into 15 squares so works out about 0.26g per square. So a very low dose. Trouble is even though it's so low I'm paranoid in case I have a weird reaction. And as I'm sure you'll agree paranoia is not a good state of mind in which to go experimenting with Psychedelics. So it's still sitting there in its packaging until I get the nerve up to try it.

don't seek the outer world,
go inside of yourself, have a look around and see what the fuck is up.
you'll need a key and a door:
a psychedelic and a willing Soul. (able to actually see the door (with shut eyes) and one brave enough to enter) the doorway leads inside.
eat a piece of that shroom bar and get the ball rolling, or else don't and then what?
find yourself, find your soul, understand where it originates and where its heading.

I think I bought the same one - the Polka dot bar?
I haven't had shrooms for decades and decided to try the chocolate bar when I had a home alone weekend.
I had 6 squares, put some music on, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the positive, mood lifting affects lasted for a couple of weeks, maybe more after taking it, now I'm a regular micro-doser as it helps my tinnitus and the anxiety it causes.
Good luck & don't be afraid to try a decent dose, its really quite fun - music sounds amazing!

I also think I may have replied to you on another thread about the effect on tinnitus? Certainly replied to someone on the topic. In addition to depression I've suffered with screaming tinnitus in both ears for years. If I could find any relief from that it would be so good.

Yes the same one mate! Good to hear about your positive experience. I will go much lower than 6 and work my way up from there. Many thanks for your help

If you want to reduce your drinking further you could impose a minimum 2 days off between drinking days, this would turn ~150 days into ~120 days that's ~30 more days sober a year. Probably a few 3 day gaps to adjust when you want to drink on a particular day will only increase your sober days. Small adjustments to behaviour are easier to sustain.
For me I need nature and fresh air at this time of year, I am lucky to have this on my doorstep but if you don't get outside much try to get out and have some fresh air and watch the world go by for a while or maybe read a book you have always meant to read.
You are doing pretty well to keep drinking to 3 days and recognising that you can't let it control you keep your chin up mate don't be too hard on yourself and if you try that mushroom chocolate please do a topic on how it goes.💚

You've actually hit on another issue. Despite living in inner London I'm blessed with an abundance of green open spaces. I live with my Jack Russell Ziggy. He's been my companion 24/7 for 14 years. We used to walk for miles. Great for him and great for me both mentally and physically. Now he has several health problems and is nearing the end of his life and it's breaking my heart. What used to be great walks out in the fresh air and greenery are now very slow shuffles over a short distance. I know he's dying and it's all fucking with my head. He's slept on my bed every night. He's there when I go to sleep and he's always been there when I wake up. I don't know what I will do when he's gone. I understand people that have never had a dog will think my attitude absurd. But he's been my best mate for 14 years. I love him. I talk to him all the time. Oh well I'll leave it there because I'm getting emotional. Thanks for your advice mate.

Weed=medicine
vs
Alcohol=poison
You already made it to the age of 70! How is your health holding up? Do you not feel ill or unwell the next day after drinking?
If I make it to 70 I will only want to do things that I enjoy and being sick from drinking too much is not on the list.
You only drink 3 nights a week that means you can go on without alcohol! Just push it a bit further if you really want to give it up you can!
It's all in your head you either love it or hate it. Try to think of all the bad things that come from it and try to start hating it instead of loving it.
For sleep there are very strong strains that will definatley put you to sleep even during the day. I would recommend my skywalker og for that.
At the end of the day it is all in your head. You just need to make up your mind how you want to spend your remaining years.

Thanks for your comments mate! Regarding my health I've been a heavy drinker for the past 40+ years. I have high tolerance. Plus I've always managed to balance it with a relatively healthy lifestyle. Yes I have mornings after where I feel like shit but I shake it off pretty quickly unless I've really gone overboard and drunk myself unconscious the night before. Even then I get over it ok. As for if I can go only three nights a week then I can go without totally the opposite is true. Drinking three nights a week is the only thing that helps me abstain the other four. I would drink every night rather than give up the three I have. I honestly don't want to come across patronising but I don't expect anyone not addicted to alcohol to understand. It's complicated.

I think it's a case of spending alot on some wpff hash from the hash collective. Smoke that on a bong and you won't feel the need for any more mate 👍✨ not for a good few hours. You won't leave the house mate. Dopeys sift from the whiskey weed messed me up in a similar way for cheaper. You could get some cheap hash and melt it in with oil and eat it. That wrecks you completely and works with the commercial hash too

Thanks mate. Truth is I just want something that will make me feel happy because nothing does. Beer, whisky, weed, I just feel miserable. I don't think there is an answer for me sadly. I envy people that have found the answer. I really do. Sorry to sound like a whining shit, I hate it, but it's just the way it is for me.

i think that looking for happiness in drugs, however safe/unsafe a particular substance may be, is highly unlikely to work. i'm presuming there's something deeper here that needs to be addressed. also binge drinking wrecks your body and mind, it's perhaps part of the problem at this point.
i hope you can find the answer. perhaps a good therapist could help you?
i hope you can find the answer. perhaps a good therapist could help you?

Thanks mate. Like I said I've tried many different antidepressants. Also had dynamic psychotherapy and CBT plus many sessions with psychiatrists. Nothing has made me feel better and a lot of it has made me feel worse. Personally I think my problem is down to physical trauma. I used to cycle commute to work and had a serious accident. Went over the handlebars at speed and hit the road head first. Had bad concussion. My problems started shortly after. Think frontal lobe damage was the cause. Sadly it's not like the TV where you mention it to the doc and they whip you in and sort you out. In reality they say "yes that's possible, let's try you on this pill you haven't tried yet". Sorry to sound cynical but it's born of hard experience.

I am an alcoholic. I don't drink now. That is the 1st and most important step to get rid of alcohol as it is the cause of all of that unwanted bad feeling. A known depressive that I've seen ruin many lives. If you can get off the booze and have a good strong dose of cannabis when needed then you will enjoy everything a bit better mate.

I can't imagine a world without drink. It's all I have to look forward to. Tried to replace it with weed but the buzz is not the same. I need the hit alcohol provides. Someone told me they add full spectrum oil to alcohol free beer. I've thought about it but have the alcoholic's fear that it won't work. So I stick with the booze.

Quiting booze is the only way forward. Me and a friend both nearly died from it. If you want to remove the devil in your mind then don't drink the devils piss ! I'm with you mate. I take sertraline to block things out and a.mitrazipine at night and it's like being a bit wobbly and sleepy. Both are anti depressants and it works for me. Well that and lots of weed you know 😄✨🤣 i have been at it 28 years trying to find the right combination of meds. So I thought I'd share. You are talking to a man who would drink at every hour of the day 24/7 vodka. I was an absolute mess mate. Hot me up for a chat any time

Cheers mate. I spent four years on Fluoxetine, then four and a half years on Sertraline, then the past ten years on Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine combined. The Mirtazapine with the booze helps me sleep. Well let's face it the combo knocks me out. I couldn't sleep without it. Life is shit. We all need whatever gets us through it.

Fuck the booze off then buy yourself a bloody great load of different strong bits of here. It will be like Christmas. Stink your house out and make yourself smile, get so wrecked you order to much Chinese and fuck it me old china pilate

Only with booze combined with Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine. Otherwise I lie awake listening to the tinnitus screaming in my ears.

Personally, at the age of 53, I wouldn’t overstress about these things
When it’s not enough and you clearly know it, that’s your mind building a new pathway for what’s ahead
If you’ve used alcohol to escape stress or personal issues — fine. If cannabis helps in the same way — fine. If, at times, they both do — fine.
Because in the end, it’s not really about the alcohol or the cannabis. It’s about understanding yourself.
What tends to happen is this: as you become more self-aware, you naturally need less of both. The people who struggle are usually the ones who never stop to look inward — so they end up drinking more, smoking more, and going in circles.
So enjoy it. Have a drink. Have a smoke. Just don’t overdo it.
Deep down, you already know what’s right for you — that quiet voice doesn’t lie.
Take things day by day. If you’re on the right path, you’ll move forward. If you’re not, you’ll learn what you need to along the way.
Above all, look after yourself — and enjoy your life ❤️

What tends to happen is this: as you become more self-aware, you naturally need less of both. The people who struggle are usually the ones who never stop to look inward — so they end up drinking more, smoking more, and going in circles.
So enjoy it. Have a drink. Have a smoke. Just don’t overdo it.
Deep down, you already know what’s right for you — that quiet voice doesn’t lie.
Take things day by day. If you’re on the right path, you’ll move forward. If you’re not, you’ll learn what you need to along the way.
Above all, look after yourself — and enjoy your life ❤️

I finally managed to get through two orders after much fucking about. Tried for a third now and back to square one. It all comes back to the whole bitcoin shit making it difficult. Surely there is a way around it. I don't think the law gives a fuck about us and what we're buying as long as it's not hardcore. For fuck's sake I just want to buy a bit of weed but Coinbase is now telling me I can't send bitcoin to the seller. Fucking sick of it.

Thanks mate I'll try it. Just that I've ordered twice recently no problem. This whole bitcoin business is a pain in the arse. Just wonder if it's really necessary nowadays.

Sorry I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was drunk and feeling very depressed. Was looking for some release and ended up letting off steam. This site is actually great. Just hasn't worked for me recently but that's my problem.

Anyone else awake and lonely?
Anyone else awake and lonely?
Multiple beers, multiple vapes. Still feel like shit. I realise this is not a mental health forum. The one I've joined there's no one online. Was going to try my first ever edible tonight but in the end didn't feel up to it. Maybe that would have made a difference, who knows. Life is shit

I suffer greatly. I have a toxic family that doesn't help. Cut out the booze, start exercising and building from the inside. Weight training really helps me. You haven't messed up your life. Tomorrow is a new day. Small steps, little and often. Slowly, day by day you can build. You are not alone.

Thanks mate but tried it all. Managed to give up the booze for a year. Went to the gym four times a week, went swimming, did other shit. Made no difference. Ended up so suicidal my GP did an urgent referral to a psychiatrist. Still under their care and on the drugs they prescribed. Had already done four years on Prozac and four and half years on Sertraline before I saw them. Now been on "California Rocket Fuel" a combination of Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine for six years. Still depressed as fuck which is what has led me here. Considering microdosing shrooms next. Anything to provide some release.

Can't recommend microdosing because I haven't tried it but I know there are lots of studies going on.
I would recommend the Wim Hof method for you as I have to others. Look at any one of his you tube vids and check that comment section.
Ptsd, anxiety, depression, auto immune conditions, skeletal problems and many more suffering individuals are reaping the benefits of cold water therapy and some breathwork.
I started over a year ago and have witnessed the benefits first hand.
Say no to pharma

It may seem patronising, I do not mean to be. I don't know what hardships you've had
Sometimes I have thought too that life can be shitty and wouldn't it be great to change it
often times we cannot
we can only change our perception. I have sometimes allowed the external pressure of life to take its control and impact my mood. I have recently become aware of the fact that everything in this world around us is actually within us and we are a part of all of it.
We use our senses to interact with the world around us. The experience of all of it is 100% an internal affair. We have the power to decide if that twat at work makes us angry. We can decide whether we allow that person or life situation to affect us. To give someone or something the power to affect us in such ways is slavery unto ourselves.
Don't listen to the voice in your head telling you your shit or life is shit. That voice is not you. You are deeper than that. If you look and leave all the shit outside the gate you may find the peace within you.
Cold showers, breathwork, meditation. That's my best advice. Hope it helps
All the best brother

Ohh mate, I hear you and been on most of these and some heavy pain stuff.
Everyone’s different, let’s get that out there. What works for some might not others, for me.
Outside of the advice and activities I’ve mentioned. I had to learn and read about how the brain works, how we manage our feelings and stuff. Some are boring but others can really help you visualise the demon AND understand yours and how to keep them at bay day at a time to slowly improve.
Change is hard and slow but never too late!
Mirtzapine was my final med before I was off them for good ( just weed, coffee and gaming now, and a good bit of porn).
It was a very hard journey, but set a written plan, have a wall of activities, some you’ll hate for the mood, some might work .
You’re a smart fella I’ve read most your posts, you got this.
Cbd weed is good too now, nice flavours and feeling without being baked.
Care looking at path of new drug to replace and fix issue, need to drill down and find your demon and it’s tactics to rid ❤️

I'm really sorry to hear that, man. I hope you at least get some respite this weekend. But, there are many of us here to listen. If your own cloud is grey, try to be a rainbow on someone else's... If I am unhelpable, then maybe I can help someone else. Wishing you well today.

We can highly recommend micro-dosing and have many clients that use it for depression. We know from personal experience shroomies help alot too. Only thing is with these kinds of meds is you cannot be taking any big pharma stuff or use alcohol in anyway. And as much as we love herb and believe in the power it has too, its better to use it when you're in a good mental state otherwise it could actually make things worse...that's our experience anyway.
Its best to not only rely on one thing like friends said here below...exercise..healhty diet...who you surround yourself with combined with the use of psychedelics is a good place to start :-) and of course then there is Ayahuasca...there are many tools but in the end its all about your will...you need to really want to change your life...own it and then things will start to change ;-)
Best of luck friend

Might sound silly to some, but do you game at all mate?
Age is irrelevant there’s a game for everyone ❤️
Online one would let you find little community too, and there’s always someone awake around the world to chill with.
Helps keep mind occupied on game, and then social elements too 👍

Only game I play is an MMO called World of Tanks. Been playing it off an on for ten years. Sometimes I can get lost in it, but it's become harder recently.

Never really appealed to me, not sure why. Just something about the tanks ticks the right boxes for me. 😊👍

Dude world of warships is so sick! not gonna lie, a friend of mine used to play this game and at a point he wanted to play with me together, I was instantly hooked by the game, it really is fun :)

Hello Khasi,
sorry to hear that you experience your life the way you do. Since we are not knowing each other we dont know in what kind of situation you are in and the way you got to this point of depression. We don’t recommend drug consume when feeling lonely or depressed since it is a devils circle which will make you even more mentally dependent. Life is not shit, life is your responsibility and what you make out of it. Most important thing is to distract yourself the right way, do sports and what you like and what you are passionate about, eat healthy, tomorrow you can always be the better version of the yesterday, every single day. Anyways we wish you just the best in coping with your depression, stay safe and feel hugged, you are not the only one suffering from depression.

its hard to motivate exercise or even a walk when you feel like this but it has a better success ratio than weed when you are really in the hole mate.
jah bless.
jah bless.

Try find hobby, go outside try not to spend lots of time sitting home, riding bike helps me a lot

Fair point. One of the problems with depression is that it kills your motivation. It gets harder to get out and do new things. I walk my dog 4.5 miles a day and that does help. I used to cycle commute every day when I was working! But I'm 67 now and not in the best physical health.

I’m really sorry to hear that you are having a tough time. Depression is tough and especially when you’re having struggles with your health.
Trying to do what you can to be active is helpful, I found doing mindfulness pretty helpful. I was sceptical but found it pretty positive to take some time out and quiet the noise in your mind and also help you be a bit kinder to yourself.
I’m not sure self-medicating is easy to get right.
I find some kinds of weed helpful some have the opposite effect. Cbd can be good for anxiety and there seems to be a good amount of evidence that psilocybin can help with depression, whether that be the larger dose or micro. Whether that’s right for your situation I don’t know.
I hope that you find some way through things and manage to get into a more positive state of mind.
Eye of the tiger and all that jazz.

Thanks man for such a thoughtful comment. I agree self-medicating is a very inexact science and so easy to get wrong. That said, my own experience of how inexact medicating by professionals can be makes me think experimenting personally and following your instincts to try new things has the potential to lead you to positive outcomes.

Hi Khasi
I'm sorry to hear what you are going through.
If anything this thread is 40+ posts so you're not alone.
I went through this 6 years ago and it took a while for it to stop.
Now am wary of pharma treatments as I've seen several people get hooked without thier symptoms improving or going away.
What is more there is controversial evidence regarding Prozac possibly increasing suicidal thoughts:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluoxetine
https://www.theguardian.com/science/2000/may/22/drugs.uknews
If you can get hold of the latest New Scientist magazine there is an article about latest findings about depression and possible new treatments, I haven't bought it yet:
https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg25734220-100-fresh-ideas-about-the-causes-of-depression-are-bringing-new-treatments
Now there is plenty of good advice and supprt from nice biggas in this thread but I would offer a word of warning about mushrooms: do not use them on your own.
I do that myself but am a user with 25+ years of experience. They can send you to heaven but also to hell so do not try to self-medicate with psychedelics.
If you want to try them by any means try to join one of the experimental UK studies in a clinical setting with a medical professional.
I hope you do get better

Your not alone Khasi. I live in a caravan in a field in the middle of nowhere on my own. Not by choice but as a result of really painful split with the mother of my child who I still love and care for to this day. I suffer terribly with loneliness, self doubt and depression. 3 years on my own and I still don't feel independent or strong and at times I've wanted to give up. I get through it because I believe it will change and because I want to see my daughter grow up and be happy.
Drugging yourself does not make you happy. Booze makes you more sensitive and clouds your head, weed can make you overthink everything and while they may numb your pain and help you drop off it will wear off at about 3am and you'll wake up and be restless and feel depressed.
We all make mistakes in life, I know I have, but to forever see yourself in a bad light is harmful to you and others. I'm sure you've done some good things in your life, whether for yourself or helping others. Remember those things and give yourself some credit. Now plan to go and help someone, do a nice thing for somebody. They will see the real you and that is who they will remember. You will hopefully see a change in yourself when you feel appreciated. Happiness comes from what you give not what you get. Good luck my friend, Feel free to message via this post anytime. I'll always listen and help if I can :)

Bro/sis ur right life is shit!! But it can be better!!! Sometimes you just need to sit bk and reevaluate your life, goals, aspirations and see how you put the shit in a bag and in the bin.... there's always gonna be that bit shit in ur life its just how you deal with it that matters... my other half has depression and she has just recently started on a vape and it's changed her moods dramatically... I've never been a fan of doctors depression/mood medication as its all just basically shit... everyone's different bro try what natural medicine you can... its on this planet for a reason bro.... Best of luck to you ✌️✌️✌️

Ever thought about selling up and moving somewhere cheaper or just going to do voluntary work in some hot country?

Maybe if I was younger mate but I'm 67. I wouldn't have the energy. Plus I have two kids and my house always remains their home for when they want to visit. And I'm still being treated for cancer so kind of want to stick with what I know if you know what I mean.

Hi Khasi
I didn't know you have cancer.
Hopefully you're one of those people who have a good loving relaitonship with their kids - hopefully.
Going back to the mushrooms if anything you might want to get in touch with the folks at the Imperial College London Psychedelic Research Centre - they are looking for participants for a microdoing clinical trial:
https://www.imperial.ac.uk/psychedelic-research-centre/trials/microdosing-study-20/
There is also one at King's College London:
https://www.kcl.ac.uk/research/psilocybin-in-depression-resistant-to-standard-treatments-psider-study
I'm not trying to tell you what to do but whatever you do do not take mushrooms on your own if you never had any.

life is some journey. we probably do it to ourselves. choices and decisions old boy, bit of a buzz kill but do this = that. if i drink those beers (i drink) what is the likely result. hugs and uggs x

believe me I know mate. I have 67 years of choices, decisions and actions to mull over and regret. I've fucked my own life up, that's one thing I'm under no illusions about!

Chin up, you sound like a good person, i've respect for my elders, some older folks are nasty and bitter.
I'm never lonely, was bitten by Christianity at a very early age and my faith keeps me going.
I was content and comfortable with the thought of physical death as early as my late teens /very early twenties.
This life is just a ride.💫🙏

67 years young. There is always time to change. Remember to use 'up to now' more because forever is a long time!

Just come back to this thread I started probably three or four years ago. Been interesting reading through some of the great and helpful advice I was given. Don't even know if those people are still active on here but if they are thanks again guys. All these years on I'm still depressed and lonely but reading through your comments really gave me an unexpected lift. Making even online contact with strangers can be really helpful. Bottom line is we're social creatures and we all benefit from connecting somehow.

I've only just found this thread. I'm 25 and feel exactly how you do, I've been out of work for the past year and don't see a life past when my parents are gone, they're my everything.
Reading these posts from so many people do help to know I'm not alone. I'm really trying to get back to work. I want to work in my head and something just stops me. I worked for 6 years before my depression got really bad and I now just don't see a way back. I don't really know what I'm trying to say but thanks for creating this thread because I wouldn't have said this otherwise

you are not alone but you are brave and caring and that's why you will overcome this challenge

So sorry to hear of your struggles mate. Stay strong. Things might look bleak now but you can overcome them and things can get better. My personal advice is at all costs avoid dwelling on negativity. I know how easy it is to slip into that trap. Find a diversion, any diversion, that will take you away from that mindset. Just remember your life is important and people close to you love you. You mean a lot to them. Sorry, didn't mean to lecture you. I'm no expert, just someone that has hit bottom myself but knows that there is always a way out. I'm happy to talk more if it would help. Take care my friend.

Really appreciate you taking the time to respond, and it's helpful just knowing people care enough to do that. I try to keep as positive as i can. My constant worry is losing my parents and I just dont see my life past them and it scares me what's going to happen when that eventually, god forbid, happens. Take care my friend, I've been reading quite a few of your posts and comments and you seem awesome, feel free to reach out if you need the same.

Worried purchase not legit

Recently bought a shroom chocolate bar. Intended to microdose to help with depression. Came quick and good stealth delivery. Before could try someone else gave a one out of five review and said they tested it and it contained MDMA and other substances. Haven't dared try it now. Don't want to name and shame but wondered if anyone else had bought doctored stuff on here and how common it might be? I've blown my cash now and it's just sitting there looking at me! Thanks

It doesn't make much sense to me to lace a product with mdma, I don't know the street value of shrooms vs mdma but I can't imagine the latter being so considerably cheaper that it is worth tarnishing a product for profit.
I also can't imagine a micro dose of MDMA being that bad for your depression? Maybe don't yam the whole bar but have a nibble and see how you feel. Mandy gave me some of the best times of my life but yeah what goes up must come down.
I imagine staring at it wondering what if will be just as bad as giving it a bite. Sorry if this is the wrong advice, not a medical expert.

Thanks a lot my friend. I understand what you're saying and totally get it. I'll take it easy and see what happens

The photo of that test kit is weird as a Control line plus a Test line should mean it's positive, and a Control line and no Test line should mean negative. No Control line and the test is invalid. So, that suggests that the bar contains loads of drugs.
User error seems more likely than that, surely?
I gave a few of these bars to a mate ages ago and he saw lizard people after eating a bar once. Probably wasn't the best idea for him to keep eating whole bars and hiding in his shed so his family didn't know he was tripping... His only complaint was that they weren't that strong.

Agreed that it's user error but the photo of the test clearly shows that Test+Control lines means negative, Control line alone is positive and any other variation is void. It just depends how that particular brand of test is calibrated.
As with any line based test ANY visible line is considered valid so technically all of them are negative although THC is probably verging on positive and detecting very faint residuals.
Also, if it was positive for MDMA I'd expect to see much fainter lines on the MET and AMP lines. These will almost always cross-react with MDMA metabolites in these tests as they are chemically very similar.

I've never encountered any antibody based test that works this way. They work like pregnancy tests as it's the binding of the metabolite to the antibodies that cause the line to form. How would its presence remove a line that would be present in its absence? Be interesting to read the data sheet for the kit.
*Edit* So apparently the antibody bound gold particles are washed up the strip in the presence of the drug, leaving just the control line as they're both in competition for binding. Interesting. Never encountered this, ever. In that case it's negative for everything as there are lines on all of them, albeit very faint for 3 of them.

That last line made me snort so loud my weed I was about to roll scattered everywhere. Well played sir.

I'm not going to tell you what to do. That is up to you. But a couple of points about that review.
1) It's a urine test. So you have to trust that the person who has just bought a magic mushroom chocolate bar from an online drugs website has definitely not taken any other drugs.
2) I'm pretty sure all of the results are actually negative except for THC.
3) It's an established seller with a pretty decent reputation. I've used them numerous times for weed and they've always been great.
4) They sell mushrooms, of various varieties, and make the bars in house. An MDMA chocolate bar would be a fucking wild thing to do when you have dried mushrooms to sell right there.
5) There are numerous other 10/10 reviews. If these were dosed with MDMA you'd have more than one person saying it. It's not exactly a drug with subtle side effects.
Take all this with however much salt you prefer but if it was me I'd just eat it, especially if you are only microdosing anyway.

Thanks mate. I'm just nervous because I haven't done anything stronger than weed for many years and I suffer mental health issues as it is. Don't want to fuck myself up. What you say makes total sense.

Thanks mate that's really helpful. Just that I've been away from this shit for a long while so I'm a bit edgy. What you say is common sense. Thanks again

i used to mop the left overs of vape cart and disposables onto papers to smoke.
not a good idea but i generally was careful with it.
i done this with a dispo the other month and had a fever like no other,
no sweats or temperature, fever was in my head, puking (horrendous) and migraine.
worst was the fever, fever dreams from hell night into day.
i've since quit the mopping.

Sorry mate, I'm not that experienced here. I was voicing a genuine concern. If there's something you think I should know I'm happy to learn. All the best

Hi all. I'm an omnivore myself (in other words I love eating meat) but my eldest daughter has moved in with me and she's vegan. She's dealing with some bad mental shit and looking for some relief primarily from any non smoking options so basically something edible and vegan choices seem limited. Gummies obviously tend to contain gelatine. Oil or tincture could be a choice. Any recommendations?

Distilate is cheap and already decarbed but the high doesn't agree with a lot of people
Rso is a lot better of a alternative from what I've heard from friends it's a great body high
I would look on here for rso
Squirt out a little grain mix it into some food or just out it under your tongue
All it takes is a little bit the size of a grain of rice
Rso is literally the medical standard for THC you can't really get more medically beneficial

What's everyone's Friday evening tunes?
What's everyone's Friday evening tunes?
Started the evening feeling pretty hardcore so went with Throbbing Gristle then Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Feeling pretty mellow now so have just put on Keith Jarrett "The Köln Concert". It's a go to of mine when I just want to drift with the music. What's everyone else listening to?

These mixes are pretty good and a decent duration:

Really gets into your head like nothing else. Not easy listening but they were so good.

Never listened to them, will check them out. Probably should have mentioned I'm an old fart of 70 so a lot of stuff from the past 20 years will have passed me by :)

Playing one from the golden age of the sampler album. You heard music you would never otherwise have heard back in the day. Music on TV was shite as was mainstream radio. These albums did the job, and they didn't cost much either. This one was released 1968.

Just switched to PJ Harvey "Rid of Me". Fuck me was this really 33 years ago. Where did the time go?

Hash Brownies
Hash Brownies
Hi all. Want to make some Hash Brownies. Going to use the Betty Crocker mix. 415g of mixture to fill a 20x20cm cake tin. Can anyone advise how much hash would be appropriate because I can't find an answer online. Want it enough to provide a mellow high in small chunks. Basically not looking to send my head into orbit, just mild and relaxing. Cheers.

Have a quick read up on dosing on t'internet first so you don't go overboard mate!
Probably aim for 100mg a dose, (dependent on tolerance) so start by estimating how potent your hash is before deciding how much to use.
eg; if hash is 40% thc then a gram is 400mg, put that in your mix and eat a quarter for 100mg dose
Normally will be best to decarb the hash to make it fully psychoactive first and then make hash butter,
but I totally appreciate you just wanting to bang some hash in the mix for ease ; )
I reckon it's still always best to decarb your hash by heating in the oven at 120C for about 20-30 mins, then go bake with it
or go see Odins for his ready decarbed hash, it's really great stuff, especially for making my fav, hash coffee!
Then have the most slooow motion tank battle across Redshire ...

Prostate Cancer
Prostate Cancer
Well here I am about to pour my heart out. Not because I'm stoned but because I'm drunk. Six tins of Skol Super down my neck. Listening to early 70s Bowie and wondering where life went. I'm 70 and alone apart from my beautiful boy Ziggy. He's a Jack Russell Terrier. He's been with me since he was 9 weeks old. Now he'll be 14 next month and he's dying. He's going to go before me. It's breaking my heart. Why does life have to be such shit. What's the fucking point. Anyway, anyone else a prostate cancer survivor? I had three years of androgen deprivation therapy so three years without testosterone then when I came off it another two years without T. Now my libido has come back after years but I have total erectile dysfunction. My life is shit but I keep on living. Fuck it

Such a sad 😿😭 story, so sorry to hear that, can't imagine what you going through, I hope you will find what you looking for.

Aww, poor Ziggy, he's done well there fella.
Having a lifetime of various animal companions myself, I gotta say that willingly letting them go at the end is always the hardest part.
Just have to take some pleasure in the joy you brought to each other over the last 14 years and hold on to that.
He has a huge impact on your life mate, but remember, you ARE his life. Start to finish. The apple of his eye. The reason to wag : )
Gotta be proud of that mate.
Edit: Also, congrats on the cancer prognosis, Well Done!

World of Tanks
World of Tanks
Anyone else here play World of Tanks? I started playing December 2012. Fucking drives me mad to the point where I question the point of living but I still go on. Doesn't help that I'm shitfaced most of the time that I play but I still cling on to the possibility that things will turn out fof the best next game.

Holey moley!!! What's your hours dude? That is un real!! I wish a game held me for that long! Fallout franchise is what i've spent most time in probably. But those hours, over all games, ain't gonna touch nearly 15 years of tanking!!

Played on console for a good few years, havnt played it since they added the newer tanks though a few yr ago

I played for many years and clan wars on PC but now on console for quick sessions. It's one of the games that draws you back in and there's nothing like it.

Warships never appealed to me. Seems a little like just playing arty. Too long range. Looks great though

ffs have I done it at last?
ffs have I done it at last?
Bear with me this is a long one. Old story was with Paybis three years ago and made many orders no problem. Took a break and came back recently by which time ID expired and had to resubmit. Wouldn't accept it so looked elsewhere. Went to Coinbase couldn't get a payment through. Switched to Bitpanda tried to buy got rejected. Took it up with help got "Following further examination by our security department, cryptocurrency withdrawals as well as the use of the Bitpanda Card from your Bitpanda account were disabled in order to ensure the safety of your funds and comply with local regulations. We apologise if this security measure causes any inconvenience." Then told could never send BTC again. Went back to Coinbase under a different email address. At time of writing I appear to have been successful. Fuck knows if it will be. Going nuts to be honest. Whatever happened to the good old days?

Personally recommend a revolut account, its a banking app with the functionality of a crypto tab to allow ease of purchase! 🤞 if coinbase doesn't work this might 💪💪

Thanks mate. Things seem to have changed so much since I was last here. Seems to be so much more difficult. Maybe just me. Will take your advice

I had the same issue, Revolute is a lot faster and actually cheaper and more easy, I also use the app for other things now like free fee currency exchange that you can add too ur Apple wallet to use a local things

Thanks I'll keep Revolut in mind for if things go wrong. Fingers crossed at time of writing I seem to have successfully placed an order through Coinbase.

Hi dude, Paxful and Bittylicious are both good option. Paxful is P2P so there are plenty of payment options

Is it just me?
Is it just me?
Hi Biggas. Been away for three years (it's a long story). Anyway come back and trying to score some hash. Has the whole process somehow become more difficult? I used to be with Paybis but they won't verify me now so have opened a new account with Coinbase. For some reason it all seems more complicated now. I'm trying to pay and nothing is happening. Feel like giving up already and I'm only just back.

It's all about changes to KYC (know your customer) rules in the UK
If you have a coinbase account you need to also get a non-KYC wallet or even better a cold wallet.
On coinbase you only buy and send it to yourself then from your wallet you can do whatever you want.
Good luck 👍

Great to see you back KK!
Nah it’s not just you, anything they can do to push down on the little crypto guys like us they will so that the bad boys can play.
Bitpanda is taking new UK customers again and I’ve never had a problem as such….but there’s time!

Weed and Booze?
Weed and Booze?
I came back to weed that I hadn't touched for years for many health reasons. A main one was pain relief from cancer treatment. Another was a last hope of saving my liver, speaking as a 67 year old alky. Naively (with retrospect) I hoped vaping bud would help me cut down on the alcohol.
In one sense it has because I used to spank down tins of Kestrel Super like lemonade. Now I drink draught Guinness instead. But conversely and perversely the weed makes me want to drink more - lower strength maybe but continually.
Shit, maybe I just have addictive personality. Or maybe my mental health issues can't be resolved by whatever combination of stimulants. My biggest problem is loneliness. The depression just follows from that

Hi The Khasi of Kalabar,
I have read the comments that have already been said and can't disagree with most of the comments apart from the mushrooms as I can't comment as I have not tried it. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, so they say. Heard good things tho.
Like most BL's that have commented and on the site have had issue / issues at some point or other and ongoing issues.
Now I have went though life so far and up until recently ( within the past year) not had a drink. If you knew me you would have bet your life on me not doing that. Now I have reasons behind that. that I won't go into at this time. I was a functioning alcoholic previous to that about 5/6 years ago. Now I never lost a job and always dealt with what I had to but being hungover was just normal as was drinking 3 bottles a wine a night and having a smoke.
Now I was in a different position and in a toxic relationship where we both liked a drink and removed myself from that. Which was not easy.
There after I started to reduce my booze intake. That would not stop me from counting down the days to my day off so I could have one.
You say about addictive personality. I have went though life and at some point done all your party prescriptions to the extreme but the two consents until recently has always been weed and booze.
Now It's just weed.
Now I have still to try and give up tobacco. Which I'm finding harder than booze.
Now I'm no fucking shrink and feel like the fat PE teacher eating a mars bar telling all the wee fuckers to run faster.
The main issue as I see it and this has been said previously by others. Is dealing with the issue not trying to mask the issue.
Now! not for one seconded do I think this is easy as you sound like you have a lot on your plate.
The main take from what I read,
My biggest problem is loneliness. The depression just follows from that.
From that statement the driving factor is loneliness.
You have made one step in that direction by reaching out on here and having that interaction/ support. Because I have.
As said set goals and make sure that they are within your reach.
Lately I have been hitting the weed hard. So I have set myself a routine. To help lower my consumption. I will never give up weed! (Just being honest) I do however want to give up the tobacco.
I look at it this way. There is so much on the wall that I can't afford but want. Give up the tobacco and add that to my weed budget.
What else do you spend money on that you enjoy? Something positive that will put a smile on ya face?
Just thoughts and letting you know that it can be done.
Good luck and power on! make the most of what you have

thanks for taking the time for such a comprehensive reply mate. Given me a lot to think about.

I’m the same as you mate, I drink a lot more when I’m high (so every day then! 😵💫). The higher I get the more I drink. I’ve never been able to grasp the cannabis as a replacement for booze concept- I drink when I’m happy and I drink when I’m sad. I drink in company and I drink alone. My only concession these days is that I only drink the good stuff. Billy Connolly once said he changed his drinking habit by deciding “if you are going to do it, do it well”👍
So no, I don’t think that’s a “perverse” outcome at all. For me cannabis and booze compliment each other perfectly- in fact with complex spirits the cannabis heightens my taste buds and appreciation in the same way as it does with music etc.
The only caveat to that is that I find cannabis compliments booze but booze doesn’t compliment cannabis. So I aim to get high before I drink rather than the other way around. When I was younger we would always do our weed at the end of the night after the pub etc. I think that’s why I didn’t love it nearly as much as I do now.
Not much help huh?…sorry.
I think cannabis overall is a better choice for you than booze but you need to want to make that choice and willpower definitely slips away when high. Try having no booze in the house when you get high. (Wouldn’t work for me as it would take about two years just to run down my stocks😳). We all need to understand what our personal relationship with the drink is and why we do it. I do. I’m not saying it will end well for me but then what does?🤔
Good luck with your trials buddy, wish you well 👍👍

always love reading your thoughtful comments. gives me a lift! thanks for taking the time to reply in depth. I relate to all you said. 👍

A lot of my favourites (like Stoney’s Chocolate by Pistach) are not currently available, but these would be my choice right now, they are great:

Do you smoke / vape a J before ingesting alcohol mate?
i always found a strong J in morning with coffee helped break my morning drink (when I did).
nico, alcohol and diazepam I found harder to break the addiction than when I was on morpheme (and one of highest recorded regular doses at time)!!
Its no joke...
As much as I hate it and saying it, gym or exercise can really help get body and brain in check when quitting something.
set goals and wein while replacing with other bits, gym, cbd and coffee were mine.
IF you even want to quit or cut down of course 👍
If you do, then writing why you want to on paper and sticking it up worked for me. sounds stupid but that physical reminder can help.
Also, I found having a tasty sativa for mornings and strong Indica to switch to night.
it's hard but can be done mate.
know the struggles and hope you get to where you want to ❤️

all good advice. thanks a lot mate. i really do want to cut down (1) because of the effect it's having on my physical health and (2) because of the effect on my mental health. it makes my depression 10 times worse.

Could be worth seeing if you can break the addiction on booze.. some folks here sell shroom microdose kits which may have positive benefits for this. If interested have a chat with mycomattic about what your seeking is a knowledgeable vendor. Worth checking if safe to do with cancer treatment tho.

thanks man. have thought about microdosing shrooms. trouble is i live alone and am scared of getting stoned out of my gourd with no help around. been 50 years since i last touched hallucinogenics. that whole scene is scary

I recently did a microdose course and I felt like it really resets your perspective in quite a gentle way.
I took my dose each evening before bed, rather than first thing in the morning because I work with machines and wanted to be safe.
The effects of taking the dose were pretty mild, you certainly don’t trip, but the actual changes at the end of the course were definately noticeable. I felt like i’d broken out of a depressive funk and had reset some of the patterns of thought I’d fallen into.
The vendor I used was the fun guy, I’m sure they would be happy to talk you through the process.
They do recommend that you steer clear of the booze and weed for two weeks before hand.

well it was worth a try. fell ill a couple of weeks back. felt sure it was covid but tested negative. for some reason was really put off getting high and that tiny opening was all that was needed for the booze to creep back in. now back on super strength cider and whisky. my weed and edibles metaphorically gathering dust. fuck it

although I don't really drink, I love the head rush you get from drinking/smoking. I'd consider microdosing on shrooms if all else fails

Either ask the doctor or order from India . But a lot of people have success with it. Have a look on Reddit;) take care

AVB recipes?
AVB recipes?
Having read somewhere that suggested vaped weed might retain 20% of its THC I've been keeping all of mine in a jar. It's brown and smells of popcorn! Can I really use it in an edible? If so recipe suggestions would be welcome, including dosage if poss. Cheers!

Apparently you can mix it with yoghurt and/or sprinkle it in on your cereals🤩
I have to say I won’t be trying either of these🥴
I have to say I won’t be trying either of these🥴

That's the way, if needs must... Definitely beats trying to eat it 🤮Haven't had to do that since the mflb was the cool new vape, some edibles still make me feel sick if they have that avb taste 😂

Save a ton, wash it then make canna coconut oil and use that to make edibles. Highest I've ever been.

I make butter from mine, I follow the below but tend to add a bit more avb just to be sure. I then freeze the butter for a rainy day and use in cookies or just a spoonful in a coffee. Have a few family members that need to medicate and are on a low budget so always give them a batch when I see them.
I use a dynavap and do toast my bud but there is still plenty of use left in it to make a potent butter

Here is my recipe.
Avb mixed with the bin;)
If your avb has 20% of the thc left then maybe you vape needs an upgrade;) what vape are you rocking ?

Haha, good point mate. Only going on what I read, could be total bollocks! My vape is a budget model, a Nebula Fuzion. Would love something better but times are hard. Don't have the money.

No, no green, pretty brown and crispy. Did have doubts there was any good left in it to be honest.

I think there would be some cannabinoids left but I doubt 20%. Some people do cook with it but I used to save it for if I ran out of bud and need something;)

Water cure it for a week or so to remove the taste. Then, infuse in coconut oil in a kilner jar heated in a slow cooker water bath (4+ hours)... Use a cheesecloth to strain and use in food. It works... I use about 28g+ for a batch of cookies (28 or so)... Enjoy.

I get the thinking behind consuming AVB but not the rationale behind it. If someone is taking only one or two draws on a vape, for example, it is because they don't want to get too high, for whatever reason. If it's a tolerance thing then why would they want to save some for an edible hit and a potentially stronger effect? (Ok the AVB edible will more than likely be weak, I suppose?)
If it's not tolerance then surely it is just a waste? (I'm not in the mood to get pissed, so I will open this high strength lager and take a couple of mouthfuls and pour the rest in jar to drink later... who does that? Just drink a light ale.)
I would say it is better to vape until dark brown and use the correct strength of weed according to circumstance and if you don't want to get "too high" - maybe don't indulge at that time or take a smaller dose?
Made my own AVB butter (using coco oil) one time, had success with herb cannabutter so know what I'm doing. Even water cured the AVB, took effing ages to get the final product. Tried a couple of times with no "high" and just got headache and felt groggy/sleepy - Now if that's what you want, then fine but it's not for me! :)

I can tell you my rationale.
Vaping bends my mind but doesn’t do much bodily beyond a little ease. Vaping at higher temps or 1 hit bowl clearance just makes me anxious and adds back a lot of the worst chemicals I quit smoking to avoid.
So I vape lightly but still thoroughly toasted (dynavap) then use abv to make edibles that put me on my back and make the music go wahwah. Will also occasionally vape concentrates to bridge the space between.

That's fair enough Gunga Din. I agree with you that vaping also gives me a racy, almost anxious, heart rate increase of a high which isn't for everyone but I like to ride the wave, if you like, and tell myself I will calm down and ease off into a mellow high. Which does happen... eventually!!
Ironically I think it is the LACK of certain chemicals - cannabinoids? - that are no longer combusted or at least reached/extracted by average vape temps that leads to a lack of body stone. So your method is suitable in this case and I would recommend it to others.
I think what annoys me is when reading on the net about quitting smoking and switching to vaping herb, it usually mentions your sort of method (again nothing wrong with that!) but if you come from smoking/combusting I would say it isn't satisfying taking a couple of "draws" and throwing the rest in a tossed salad with croutons.
Maybe I'm too harsh on the AVB edible but my AVB edible experiences haven't been up to much.
Each to their own though, eh? :)

Put them in some gelcaps and swallow! It is already decarbed by your vape so will be active when eaten. Never indulged myself but then told it hits like a freight train, would be interesting to know the science behind it. I imagine cannabanoid ratios are different

Betty Crocker is your best friend, I opt for a cookie mix or a brownie mix. Brownie is better imo as you use egg and milk really gives it something to hold onto as it dances in your stomach. I usually chuck in anywhere from 8g - 18g of avb. Should be enough to keep you conversing sublingually with the spirits on the other side

Also if you have vegetable glycerin then you can infuse that with the AVB or any decarbed bud or hash and make a potent syrup for which extra decarbed bud or hash can be added or substituted if you need the syrup to be stronger 😋 this can be added to drinks or drank straight and is very discreet and could be taken places and consumed stealthily eg that a movie or circus or a day out 🥷

Once I’ve collected some AVB in a jar after vaping for a while then I usually make cannaoil out of 75% of it by infusing cooking oil with the AVB and use an Ardent FX/ Flex for infusing and decarbing. then I get some empty 00 capsules off Amazon they are very cheap and then I fill them with some of the other 25% of the AVB saved from earlier and then fill the rest with the canna oil and they are very discreet and you can dose them depending on the event and requirements 😊 or you can use the canna oil for baking brownies and can always add a bit of other decarbed bud/ hash for extra strength edibles 😋

How widely known is LB?
How widely known is LB?
Anyone seen DrewisSharing on YT? The guy is only in his mid-20s and seems to be permanently whacked. The boy needs to pace himself IMO. His room must smell like a Rastafarians Tam. Yet he has 306k subs. He's just put up a two part vid "Is Dispenseroo Real?". He's a total stoner but has never heard of it and can't believe it's real.
Reading the comments below, none of his followers can believe it either. I was tempted to tip them off about here, especially as Dispenseroo is way too expensive. But then I thought hold on, if they all come here there will be less to go around for the rest of us.
Anyway, the real point of this is to flag up how a pretty substantial chunk of UK stoners are totally unaware that LB, or indeed any other online resource, exists.

I'm pretty confident I'm the only person In my small town that knows about LB, I've tried linking some random smokers I've worked with now and again but tbf probably didn't believe me
Fr was a blessing to find this 4 months ago, I’ll continue to give out LB to people I fuck with but I’m just glad I never have to bother with travel and locals anymore.

LB gets mentioned a few times on r/uktrees but the mods turn in to proper bitches and remove any posts mentioning locations or where to buy. I'd hate for LB to get too big to the point it gets the wrong persons attention and gets the silk road treatment. I know zero IRL dealers and depend on this site. PS I can't stand that Drew guy. He seems relatively normal until he randomly does some wierd outburst laugh. And his nails knock me sick.

This. I wasn’t confident enough to use dark web, but if this is taken down I’d have to. LB been up for years tho so I doubt it will go anytime soon

know what you mean about his nails! I'm not a huge fan. but then again I'm old enough to be his grandfather, so not exactly part of the target demographic! agree totally about LB. even though i'm a new boy i can see there's something special here that needs to be protected.

Every toker I know now knows about lb. I've also hooked up a few randoms in my messages after posting on UKtrees. There were loads of people without a plug after London Caviar went awol. I'd like more people to know about lb as I think it would be better for buyers and sellers. But I don't want everyone to know about it.

i got a couple from uktrees too bro, feels good helping someone out when you know yourself the struggles when you didn't know about these sites.
I actually got IP banned from reddit and have no idea why, sucks because that was my favourite app and It's not the same when you can't comment

See, i’m the opposite. A large proportion of my friends are smokers, from casual to habitual, and not one of them has/had heard of LB. Ive introduced 5 who now buy on the site, but not one had heard of it before i showed them around.

i dunno on the one hand i think it's amazing to be in a place where a pro (ok semi pro) youtuber cant keep up with a cool old geezer in a turban.
on the other hand i just wanna tell him to pick something he wants here and ill send the coins to pay if he uses my reference code for an episode.

A few mentions on Reddit might be ok but YouTube is the last place I want to see this site mentioned. If it did start to cave in here it would be messy, even compared to a DNM exit or bust. I'm guessing most people don't use PGP or obsfucation.

I'm glad you did!
I must have been transitioning over to LB at that point from the markets. Paranoia was high.

My first edible. Interesting!
My first edible. Interesting!
Bought some gummie bears from uWakeiBake. Thought I'd take it easy to begin so just chomped down half a bear before taking the dog for a walk. Got back 45 min later feeling nothing. Put it down to not taking enough and forgot about it. Was not going to repeat an earlier mistake and take more!
Then 90 mins after taking it hit! Both my cheeks went numb like I'd had a dental anaesthetic (is that normal?). The high has continued to build since then. It's now 2hr 20 since I took it and I'm flying high and feeling pretty mellow!
PS. thanks to all who replied to my whingeing post last night. I really appreciate it. made me feel a lot better reading your comments. ❤️👌👍

Sounds like you’ve had a good night.
That goodness you resisted the urge to have more before it hit. I made that mistake a few weeks back and I was a mess.

Yes I made that mistake with my first try of a vape pen. Hmm not working better have another hit. Four hits later my head exploded!

Wise man!!
I’m too greedy, every time I’ve dabbled with eating it.
Lot gone in first sitting, then I’m beyond stoned for days.
Sounds like a great buzz for the night with tasty gummies too 🤤
Do you smoke on top of the edibles too?

Weed and reading books
Weed and reading books
Best books to read about getting stoned - number one of course Hunter S Thompson, "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas". What else could it be. Aldous Huxley "The Doors of Perception" has to be up there. Any jazz autobiography can fit the bill - "Straight Life" by Art Pepper is essential. The 1965 novel "Stoner" is an excellent novel, but sadly has nothing whatsoever to do with drugs! Any more recommendations?
As for books to read while stoned that's another matter. Personally I can't. Have to be straight when reading. That said. I should think "Ulysses" would be quite a trip.

I find Graham Hancock’s work fascinating whilst stoned. Fingerprints of the Gods, Magicians of the Gods and Supernatural: Ancient Teachings of Mankind. Are all very interesting talking about a lost civilisation and ties into the ancient Egyptians and Atlantis and other stuff. Worth picking up.

Mr Nice - Howard Marks
Snowblind - Robert Sabbag
Waiting for the Man - Harry Shapiro
Haven't read them for a good number of years but I enjoyed them at the time! Second two are quite old so you may have difficulty in find them (at a reasonable price!)
I read Waiting for the Man in pre-internet days. That thrill of looking around a bookshop (yes, shop not website!) and tucked away in the corner some books with a picture of a (looks over both shoulders with a small grin) cannabis leaf... wow a book about drugs... in public. Oh how times have changed! :)

Thanks CB- like everyone I’ve read Mr.Nice but hadn’t come across your other two recommendations. Just bagged both of them off Amazon for £3.49 each delivered (Used “Very Good”)…the Shapiro has been fully updated….I’m going to enjoy those- cheers mate!😻

Good! From memory, Snowblind similar to Mr Nice regarding funny/detailed accounts of the drug trafficking process and WFTM I only have hazy memory of as it was a while back when I read that and it was before the updated version! I just remember it was fun reading about each recent decades music style and drug of choice. Have fun!

Haha 😂. As I said above I have to be straight while reading. Reading when you're spaced out is the same as watching TV while you're fucked up. You can't remember any of it the next day!

I know this is going to sound weird but I actually enjoy reading when I’m high, although it does depend on the strain. I can pile into some pretty heavy books AND remember what I’ve read. Strange🤷♂️

What, you mean you can still follow the story AFTER the cat has sat on the mat? Wow... 😁 :)

Seriously mate I go for the big stories and I often get quite emotional. When I realised they weren’t going to be able to put old Humpty back together again I sobbed😢
And the fat Controller is a right cunt 😡
And the fat Controller is a right cunt 😡

Bloody hell, thanks for the Trigger warning! Who do I report you too?
I tell you what has just popped in my head. Remember those old Children's books, Ladybird I think. Three little pigs and the like? Some of those pictures could get quite graphic if I remember. No trigger warning in them days, you just shat yourself, got on with it and suffer from night terrors and cold sweats for the rest of your life. :)

Too right…the gratuitous roasting of Bambi’s mum (don’t put that phrase in a search bar🫣) had a profound effect on me and I never much liked venison after that…😞

👍👍…the only thing that does my head in about ‘Fear & Loathing’ is the sheer quantities involved, I just can’t believe that an elephant could remain standing. In the booze version: ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ at least Nicholas Cage is genuinely trying to kill himself! (Great film imo👌)
For modern day drug-athons it’s hard to beat the grit and outrageous humour of Irvine Welsh. Obviously ‘Trainspotting’ is a classic but I love the total sleaze of ‘Filth’, ‘Ecstasy’ & ‘Porno’ …books that really give a clue in the title😂.. and they leave no doubt that Welsh has seen it all.
Joyce had to have been off his noodle on something when he wrote ‘Ulysses’ …it’s the only explanation 🥴

I'd agree about Fear & Loathing, but having just read Thompson's letters (he was a copious letter writer) from the late 60s to the mid 70s, he really was a major stoner. I think he got bored easily and had this restless, almost manic, energy. Think drugs were his way of scratching that itch. As for Joyce, yes! Only read it once and that was about 30 years ago. Keep telling myself I'll read it again one day but haven't done it yet!

Reading Ulysses once is a major achievement mate, I can’t believe anyone has ever read it twice 😂

David Nutt ( Ex government drugs advisor until he said some things the government didn't like so they kicked him out..... ) has a few books you may find interesting.

From weed to hash and beyond......
From weed to hash and beyond......
Said before I'm new back to weed. Over the past month I've done SA and Thai landrace, some excellent shake from ReaID, and some vape from Dr Extract. I have some edibles on order as my next transition, but in the meantime have been ogling all that fudgy hash.
I've not done hash since the early 70s when, by the way, it was far more common than weed in the UK (which was about 40% leaves, stems and seeds!). If it wasn't Afghan Black then you were slumming it. Take a bit of foil out of your fag packet, twist your lump of hash in it, and cook it over a match. Crumble result into a "three skin" joint.
So I'm very tempted, but I can't smoke. My herb vape is good but only recommended for weed. Trouble is I can't afford to splash out on a new device so I either use it in a dry herb vape somehow, of take it some other way - eating it was pretty common back in the day. Happier to do that rather than smoke or vape, but I'm worried about the dose.
What edible dose would anyone recommend for a low tolerance newbie?

What vape do you use?…I agree with Dazzler- you can easily use hash in a vape by sandwiching in with the green (or you can just add to the grinder)…there’s a tonne of great combinations.
Or you can also protect your oven with a little cotton bacon. You will need to crank the temperature right up though.
If you are adding anything to your Xmas list, the tiny Vapman is superb with hash..l👍😻👍

cheers mate. I use a Nebula Fuzion. Stainless steel chamber, gauze bottom, good air flow. Works much better at higher temps - 210c or more according to the digital display.
Very tempted by the sandwich idea. How much hash to weed would you recommend? Still low tolerance so don't want to blow my head off!

I sandwich with my dyna, no science to amount, just a layer of flower a layer of hash and a layer of flower on top.
edibles are a different ball game so if you have not tried them before I'd start with something like the canna caps from Northern organics as there quite a low dosage about 10mg I think so you can experiment until you find your right dosage.
Another thing to look at if your into edibles and vaping would be what you can do with your avb.

I can’t see any reason why you can’t put a sandwich into the Fuzion. You’ve certainly got the temperatures. Perhaps try some of those 1g selection packs that are going around because you’ll only need a little. You are basically just turbocharging your weed and with extra flavours for a bigger all round high. Nice👍
Personally I wouldn’t eat the cheaper commercial hash on here, but that’s just me. I would eat the top quality imports such as those from Hashishin, but I don’t because I’m very susceptible to edibles and they would blow my noodle. A good way to find out how that’s going to work for you is hash oil caps (as opposed to Cannacaps). I find the Lebanese smooth and uplifting and the Moroccan absolute rocket fuel but again that’s just me.
I think Hashishin is out of stock at the moment but I’m sure they’ll be back👍👍

I got a 2nd had dynavap on gumtree for £33
Depending on your vape you could make sandwiches with your shake and hash.
I’m not sure your budget but I’m sure a new dynavap was released and it’s £40 new. Sure I seen it on vapefiend
Dosage no idea but like everything else depends on the strength and quality of the hash I assume 🤷♂️
Pollypuff20 is the sandwich master 👌

Somewhere in a sorting office in SE London...
...there is half an oz of weed with my name on it. Just my luck to discover this incredible site just as there's a Royal Mail strike.

😂 😂
know the pain mate, waiting on mine though think today's cancelled so stuff mightve moved along 🤞 we both get tomorrow
know the pain mate, waiting on mine though think today's cancelled so stuff mightve moved along 🤞 we both get tomorrow

yeah first time on this site and still nothin from two separate vendors. One has been 8 days! I'm tryin to be patient but frankly I'm pissed!

won't name names but they had a high rating, almost 10. also had comms with the vendor so I can't complain about that. just frustrating given the positivity about many vendors and orders

3 trusted vendors I could name with good reviews/service are greentech, pistach and drgreenthumb. Don't just look for high review numbers, keep how many people have ordered in mind also.

yeah the more time I spend on the site the more I read. I'm seeing a lot of good things but it's always gona be tough to nail it down to the right vendors for you. I've seen plenty of ppl that seem to have found the vendors they like, aint givin up yet...or at least until next payday lolz

yeah you find yourself on here alot trying to find out the best bargains, personally pistach is the best i think as he does oz of good hash for 180 and other good weed. Like at the moment hes got his zoy smallz strain I'd say its easily above average and cheap, frosty af. does little deals like that time to time. You'll see he does have over priced stuff but that's because its really good stuff

yeah i saw some of their stuff, plenty of variety in price, quality and quantity. Although an oz would do me I'm startin small scale and plenty do that so it's interesting for sure

yeah appreciated, that's what's interesting about this place...seems like most ppl wana help out. always gona be the negative side to it but mostly it seems pretty chill and positive so we'll see how it goes!

No probs mate, we got you there's a lot of good folk here, vendors and buyers.
Keep an eye out for my smoke reports as I try review as much as I smoke 👍
Keep an eye out for my smoke reports as I try review as much as I smoke 👍

Yeh be patient it's legit just the mail service. If you're pissed you don't really appreciate it i guess. High rating vendors arent the best just shilled by loads on here. whole topics boards been controlled now. They'll land eventually.

Yeh Mail since the first strike has been slow. Guess they'll catch up after Queens Death and crap.,,,

A new boy's BIG mistake
A new boy's BIG mistake
So my weed smoking days were back in the 70s. In the years since I've become a functioning alcoholic. In addition I have serious physical and mental health probs. Have sought out weed to help with both. Also hoped it might help me cut down on the booze because not only does that rarely give me a lift any more, it actually makes my depression worse. And I'm not talking the day after I mean while I'm actually drinking. I can feel my brain shutting down.
Anyhow, I knew I didn't want to smoke. I have breathing difficulties as it is and knew I'd cough a lung up if I smoked. So I came here interested in vaping. Bear in mind my last experience with weed was a couple of hits on a weak joint over 15 years ago so in modern terms I'm a complete newbie.
So I was drawn straight away to a Cart and bought one (Mimosa) with a battery and charger from the excellent Dr Extracts as my first order. Then I did a little more research and found out for the first time about dry herb vapes (I said I was a newbie). So I bought one (Nebula Fuzion). Then I turned my attention to actual weed. Given my long absence I looked for lower potency, and found some old school South African Dagga from DIUK and some Thai/Lao from mrb4real and promptly ordered both. One of these, with my new vape, was going to be my gentle reintroduction to the world of weed.
Anyway, thanks to all that have made it this far but to cut an unintentionally long story short both the latter have been held up by the postal strike. So two days ago sitting here half drunk and feeling very down mentally my eye kept wandering to my as yet unused vape pen.
Maybe just a little hit to see if it could lift my mood? Put it on low setting, pre-heated it, and took a small hit. Sat and waited, nothing happened. Thought maybe the hit had been too small so took a bigger one. Sat and waited, nothing happened. You can guess the rest. Took a third big hit, and a fourth just for luck.
Holy shit it hit me like a freight train. My legs turned to jelly, my head went into orbit. I was seriously fucked up for the next 3 hours. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I knew what kind of high I was looking for when I came here. This went way, WAY, beyond that.
It was bad to the point it's made me scared of trying again. I'm still waiting for the weed and will try that very carefully. Going to buy some CBD bud and cut it 50/50 to start off with. Just a shame my first experience has been a negative one.

Sorry to hear that buddy. 😢
Extracts, whether it’s distillate, resin, rosin, RSO, shatter, wax, badder, crystals etc etc are all high strength and not the place to start your journey. They can hit the high 90%+ in virtually pure THC. 🤯 By contrast the weed you have ordered will be around 12% (compared to an LB average of c20%+). But even that will be a fair bit stronger than the norm back in the day when 4-6% was the going strength.
That said, vaping at lower temperatures delivers less of a hit than combustion. The Thai is a lovely old school hit. Dial your Nebula in at just 160c to start and you are really going to enjoy it but still just take a couple of hits for your early session. Mixing with CBD is a great idea too.
Please come back and tell us how it works out…🤞🫠

I think heard this tip from Seth Rogen. If it’s your first time smoking a new strain, take two small puffs from a 1 skin (pure) joint, put the joint out and set a 30 minute timer. See how you feel, you’ll know what to do, if you’re high then congratulations, if not relight and take a couple more puffs. I still practice this tip every time I pick up or order from here. One man’s heaven is another man’s train. Tread carefully and it’s great to have you here.
I used the same technique with the cart that I bought from dr extract and my mind left my body 😂, I’ve been a daily consumer for a while now so don’t feel put off if something knocks you for 6. It still happens to the most experienced weed consumers.
Again welcome!

sounds like you just took way too much for your tolerance level that's all, I hate this always feels like the room is spinning horrible stuff, suggest taking 2 alright puffs and you'll be sound

also if you worried about your lungs don't smoke at all just either do edibles or they have some cannabis oil pills on here i've seen, you could save your lungs completely

I've thought about edibles and will get round to trying them. Just a bit worried about getting the dose right. Came into this thinking try a bit at a time (yes, as my post here confirms I screwed that up) and though edibles are all in, once you've eaten one you get the full whack, no backing off so to speak. You can't really take it a bit at a time?

You can very much take edibles a bit at a time. A noob dose (and my favourite dose) is 10mg. Many Biggas laugh their socks off at this dose and some will claim to be able to eat 50 x this (literally 500mg) in a single session (in reality many cheap edibles wildly exaggerate their strength).
To put 10mg into perspective that is now the only legal dose in the US for a single edible.
Buy quality edibles, ignore big strength claims. (SayNo2Drugs sends 10mg edibles from the US) but most on here are 40-50mg per sweet. Simply slice off a quarter BUT you must wait at least 45 minutes for it to kick in- don’t top up because you think it’s not working. Just always limit your first doses to 10mg. You can simply build up in time but personally I don’t go above20mg and when I have I don’t enjoy it. Some are more susceptible than others to edibles soI’m just lucky I guess 😂
For me good quality edibles deliver a fantastic euphoric high that is very different to vaping.
Another way to go is Cannacaps. Northern Organics have 10mg caps, both sativa and indica or both in a mixed pack. These are a high quality fixed dose that deliver a very nice ride- you should probably start with the indica for getting chilled out.
Good luck buddy! 👍👍

Most sellers don’t get their edibles tested. We take a leap of faith based on what is says on the pack. Cheap edibles claiming high strengths generally don’t review well.

totally agree mate, I went way overboard. I've had a couple of small hits since I made my post. Just little ones spaced apart by an hour. Been all good so far. Just have to learn to pace myself with the stuff that's around now

That doesn't sound pleasant, everyone seems to have a similar story when they first started out.
The vape cartridges are very strong as they're made with a concentrate. They're also deceiving and it's easy to over do it with them due to the lack of vapour they can produce, you think you're not getting anything, so you take another toke..and another.... then all of a sudden you're part of the sofa 😅
Strength wise, you've picked 2 good strains to start off with as they are on the weaker side of the THC scale. Give them a go and see how you get on. I honestly think you'll be fine if you take a single small toke of the vape (make sure you have eaten before hand)
I'm sure it didn't help that you was half drunk during it either 👍

cheers. yes on reflection i was a total noob. too many outdated memories of the old days. didn't appreciate what i was dealing with. never too old to learn i hope!

Vape carts are creepy (as in the high creeps up on you).
In much the same way as you would be conservative with an edible, the same for vape carts.
When you get this understanding of your own tolerance down, my friend it is easily the most effective way of administering a controlled hit.
A friend of mine is a very occasional smoke with low tolerance, but he loves carts.
Put it down to a touch of misadventure and don't let it put the fear into you, sir.
As a rule I would suggest waiting at least 10 minutes inbetween your hits should you be of the mind to use the cart again.
Good luck.

I’d recommend trying some of northern organic’s products, either the thc capsules or the brownies. The capsules are at a low dose but enough to feel, and I think would be good for your tolerance level - they’re also extremely reasonably priced so if they’re not for you then there’s nothing to worry about.
As far as NO’s brownies go, as someone with a reasonable tolerance for edibles I typically eat half a brownie at a time, occasionally a full one of I want to push the boat out lol. For someone just starting to delve into edibles I would say a quarter of a brownie would be enough to have a pleasant experience without it being too much. And as another positive, they taste absolutely sensational.
Whatever you decide to try going forward I hope it’s a more pleasant experience than you had with the carts lol, all the best pal

Sorry to hear this experience has put you off. I think it's just down to the potency of the carts, though - they're very strong and even someone with a high tolerance (like myself) might need to approach them with caution. The first time I tried one, I took two small puffs and was baked for a good two hours.
The weed you've ordered is likely to be much lower strength so it should be easier for you to find the right amount for you, however I'd always say just start small and work up. You can easily have another puff at the vape but you can't undo one too many!
I hope your journey works out.

thanks mate. totally agree. like cooking you can always add more seasoning but you can't take out what you've already added!

Newbie "kid in a candy store" syndrome?
Newbie "kid in a candy store" syndrome?
I'm very new here. Have put in three orders but thanks to the RM strikes haven't received any of them yet. I'm hyper like a kid waiting for Christmas! But, having found this site another problem is I want to buy everything. I assume that's a common issue among newcomers?

We all have things in our carts saved for when we have to make a decision come pay day. Having found LB only around 6 months ago I find myself here daily just checking in with the topics/posts and I end up adding something to my cart everytime. I'd be lost without this place as I don't know of a backup. Which items did you go for mate?

Having found it I can't quite believe it's real to be honest. I kind of want to buy as much as I can in case it disappears. Stupid I know

It's not stupid at all. I've been buying more than I consume and have some items stocking up. If stored well they can last a while. I was so sceptical of LB at first myself, to the point I was convinced all of the 'users' here were super advanced bots having conversations with eachother.

if u weren't sceptical of this site at first u probably the type of dude to believe anything:D I sware I've made locals in my small city loose shit tons of business got everyone I know on here lol

I found Lb just after the first lockdown. Its been disastrous for my bank account but thats the only downside as far as I can see/be arsed to look for! The kid in the sweet shop thing sounds familiar. Just get about 10 different items in your cart from a handful of vendors and it'll be like Christmas all week ;-)

It’s not stupid at all…every time LB goes down for ‘technical reasons’ I go into a blind panic and then buy everything when it comes back. I’m sure they only do it to boost sales! 😵💫😂

for real I love coming on here and learning more about bud, getting excited for deliveries. I'm glad I didn't have to download a tor browser or go to my old local anymore, been on here for like 4 months and it's a blessing!

there's phases my favourite is the 1st
holy shit this is actually real?!
then there's
holy shit i'm free!
then
whoah how do i sort through all this shit?
then
shit! it came!
a few steps after that its
same shit another day.
i try to not take this community for granted but it's human nature, thanks for reminding me what we have.

This part "holy shit i'm free!" has been the best one for me so far.
First found out about LB in Feb after being let down (temporarily) by local guy and took the plunge this Summer after more supply issues.
Not having to go through all the usual bollocks of sourcing it on the street is pure liberation.
And that's before even talking about quality, choice, prices and the fact that the only risk you take is when the postman hands over the parcel :-)

Good luck buddy, your going to have a blast but it’s going to be expensive. I literally spent thousands when I first joined and stalked my postman with the gusto of a young David Attenborough.
It’s like living in a damm cafe and with the next day delivery equally dangerous and amazing. Enjoy bud excuse the pun, if your after a total treat try out Canadian imports Gary Payton x runtz it’s the best weed I’ve had this year bar speaker knockers

I got carried away buying weed at first too. Like you said, stock up before it goes pear shaped.
I found cannazon first and think I wore out my postman and my bank balance and I had like 15 strains on the go at one point. It was fooking great!
Calmed down a bit now to avoid a divorce!!!! 😂
But this place is great, so easy to use and decent choice and nice like minded folk on the whole.

Long live LB 🤞

Enjoy mate, few of my fav vendors:
Druids magic
Pistach
Riley packs
Dr Green thumb
Bulldog
Canadian imports (yet to try but always looks sick with high reviews)
I'm sure I missed a few the other biggas can fill in, but those are always on point 🤜

I totally agree with what has been said so far. I’ve only been using LB for about 5/6 months
I was introduced to LB by a mate.
I was like fuck off no chance am I fuck ordering you will get bumped but then I took the plunge as it was the only way to get carts as I did ok for bud off my local.
I used the gorilla 🦍 warfare tactic of in purchase piss off.
Then the “issues” start because you scroll 📜 and your like a kid in a candy store.
I also started to use the topics page more to find new sellers and gather info and talk shit about cannabis in general. Most have committed. Hope your all good.
Anyway carts lead to bud and bud lead to and truly I can’t believe I’m typing these words HASH. Yes you read that correctly
Working my way up to science weed lol 😂
Like everyone else finically I have been ass raped but all in a good cause lol 😂
The main thing is enjoy and it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon. A journey as sorts
Just remember the wise words of the profits Cypress Hill
Inhale exhale I just got a once in the mail

most inspirational rapper?
Just diving in because it's a music thread and I'm crazy about music. That said I love all kinds from blues to classical, from jazz to opera, and of …
2pac, pick any of his top 20 tracks. (Untill the end of time, hell razor, never had a friend like me, picture me rolling etc.)

I absolutely live and breathe 90s hiphop, so if I could start from the top, I'd probably go with GZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep and Pete Rock.

Big Daddy Kane. Absolute genius. Was your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper. ...but now probably your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper’s favourite rapper. 😂

Just diving in because it's a music thread and I'm crazy about music. That said I love all kinds from blues to classical, from jazz to opera, and of course hard rock, synth, pop, soul and everything else - apart from rap. The one music genre that does absolutely nothing for me. Bought the 12" of "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash when it was released and still have it. And that's pretty much where it started and then ended for me...apart from the Fugees doing "Killing Me Softly", but that's all about Lauryn Hill, which is another story.

Without question Tupac Shakur 🎤☭ a man who understood that the struggle of the proletariat didn't end with my manifesto, but merely found a sicker beat!
His lyrics on poverty, systemic oppression, and class warfare were essentially *Das Kapital* with a drum machine. Had he been born in 19th-century Prussia, I have no doubt we would have been co-authors — though I must admit, he had far better fashion sense than Engels and me combined.

I'd like to add edubble
Idk if anyone knows of him but he was a absolutely great rapper. Shit always added a kick to my step
Sadly passed away from cancer a good few years ago now. Rest in peace 🙏

why is a country as corrupt as thailand so fucking great
Ask Gary Glitter
Corruption in Thailand greases the wheels, cutting through bureaucracy and making business predictable.
All taxes convert power into money, Thailand's corruption does the same in a more decentralised way.

It’s not just Thailand it’s every country in the world we’re just a bit more discreet about it in the west

Well it depends on what you mean by great, all I see is old white men going there to abuse the under aged Thai girls 🤔

i dont know how many mates you have but Thailand is a country of 72 million (non-white) people

(High thoughts)
When you look back in time, what year is the one year you would go back to in your life and happily relive again ?
How old were you? What are some of the best memories? I think my second year of university was an unforgettable year 😂 I definitely took it for granted and would love to go back

The time period after my GCSE's. Innocent but not so innocent. No responsibilities except selling weed, chasing girls and playing football

Exactly this lol I can never forget that year, GSCE finish early so nice long summer, completely free doing the stuff you mentioned

Honestly? Probably like 2 years ago when my current relationship was the best thing ever. It's rough now and I would give anything to have that back

16. No doubt. 1996. Just finished my GCSE’s. Was in the 1st 11 school football team and we’d won the Surrey cup. Had a beautiful girlfriend who was that teenage first love. Brilliant football summer with Euro 96, (Sheringham, shearer and Gazza). Being British felt awesome (not like it does now). Amazing music. Massive oasis fan and knebworth was about to happen. All my mates together with their girlfriends. Drinking, smoking fags and soap bar ;) Had got into rave and hardcore and went to lots of little rave house parties. Absolutely magical. It’s my absolute happy golden place.

When I was 12, I had a 10 week break between going to middle school and secondary.
I lived on a new estate still being built among the woods, so there was plenty of material laying about for building dens, and plenty of unfinished buildings to climb on or mess about in.
We built fires and cooked sausages, drank the odd beer, smoked the odd fag and handed around dirty magazines. We genuinely thought we were the shit 😂.
The dens never lasted long as they either got pulled down by locals or rival kids, but that was all part of the fun. I even managed my first kiss and fondle that summer.

Now…the past is the past,I’ll always enjoy life now, know matter what’s happening even though I’m early fifties 😄

16, one year before the last year of high school. Living in Switzerland during summer, eating mushroom chocolates, hitting bongs of Swiss Dank, swimming in Bodensea and being lost beyond belief. Ahh, the Swiss dream... :)

1995 young free single and no children. Going to the Arches and sub club,my weekend started on a Thursday and finished on a Sunday afternoon.Dancing for hours on end not a care in the world.Good memories of crazy weekends Always saying never again but always back out Thursday night

I thought I was 27 for 3 years - woke up on my 30th birthday and was completely ok with that. Just didn't fancy 28 & 29 that's all 🙄

The minute I grew up and found out the cruelty of the real world was the minute the fun stopped.
I know that sounds heavy and I always answer these types of questions like this, I got diagnosed as Diabetic when I was 11, mum died , up until I was 17 my dad and me were bumping heads and I hated it (not linked to my mum I was adopted my birth mum died) I had times after where good stuff happened but I feel like I got dragged through maturity quickly because loads of stuff went to shit because of bad luck In life, my dad used to get pissed and just rent every night about needing to grow up and make money, came in the night before my 13th birthday bladdered and went “you’ve got copied video games for your birthday you’re a man now so do you need to do silly birthdays ?” And it went on from there.
Struggled hard as a kid, was very clever but could NOT wrap my head around things and did what I could, got to uni after winging it for years and failed miserably, went from hated job to hated job and here I am now at 31.
Got my own mortgage , beautiful amazing wife and a baby due in 3 months but I’ve had a wall in front of me for so many things for years that I’ve never been able to explain or get past, the depression for the last 12 years where no treatment, meds or CBT has helped has made me so cynical, jaded and overall angry and disappointed with myself.
I looked at a diagnosis for ADHD in my early 20s and got dismissed as a young man after Ritalin and after 11 YEARS on the NHS register with nothing and 4 on two private lists I was finally diagnosed 2 months ago and started medication ten days ago.
Decided to tell my dad about it last night he linked a daily Mail article saying it’s a myth so I spent two hours disproving everything that article said and he basically just said “You’re fine as you are you’re just anxious “ I’m not anxious.
So the meds are supposed to be working now but you can’t mix it with other stimulants like coffee and I drink about 4 pints of coffee or energy drinks a day to stay awake, same for weed apparently conflicts with the tablets which I smoke daily and alcohol (drink when I get the chance to feel chill).
So even though I’m on meds and titration to see what dose works for me I’m drinking on holiday, was assigned them maybe last Monday? Had to get my Bichon put down on Tuesday he had kidney failure and it came out of nowhere and because he was so silly and daft still it broke my heart to watch the life leave his eyes even if it was the right thing to do, so I’ve got grief, depression and drinking all on at the go when I’m meant to be seeing if these tablets stop me losing my temper at the smallest change.
Sorry for ranting, this wasn’t even the question I’ve just listed off everything wrong with life. Just needed to get it off my chest it’s been brutal lately.
My answer though, probably 17 to early 20s. First time getting my feet out into the world, I was a little geek until I was about 15 until I started coming out of my shell and really capitalised on that from 17 haha tried a lot of new things did a lot of new stuff but ultimately I wouldn’t relive any of it, just trying to do my best now for the sake of my soon to be daughter and don’t want to be freaking out because I can’t handle her crying so meds it is.
It’s funny, they were only really prescribed at this crucial point because if I hadn’t had meds at this point (been getting told for 6 months it’s a few weeks away) my fear of not being equipped to be a man let alone a dad would have probably been causing me to have a mental breakdown at this point.
I don’t want anyone to think I’m asking for pity, I’m not I’ve survived this long and will keep surviving but I think all your choices in life have clearly led us to where we are now, and even though I’d love to be back getting a blowjob and a stripe and feeling like I’d finally gotten free, the lessons I’ve learned from them have taught me some very important life lessons.
Cheers

Mate. Sounds like you've got lots on and are spooning out about becoming a dad. Take a breath, it'll all be good. Help your wife with the practical things so she can concentrate on the baby and everything else will follow. My dad's a cunt and it made me a great dad. You'll be grand.

When I was 14 some local flats were getting demolished and me and friends went there everyday for the summer the holidays I think for two years actually it took so long we had free run of the place broke through the roof and everything lol

Honestly, it's hard to pick. Life is unique, precious and fragile. We can't go back, only forward. So, I'd say now, purely because we've made it to the fucking future!

For me personally, I'd go back to a time before My kids had been brainwashed against me. So maybe 4-5 years ago, was a happier time for me. I took it for granted and life made me pay the price hard. 4 years later and 1 run through family court I'm still at square one.
Honestly, I'd give anything to have my kids back, but I am starting to accept I probably never will and one day I'll be fine with that, just not today.
Big love biggas 💚

theres always a square 2 bigga or maybe even a (family) circle, love and time can do that

Probably 23.
I was heavily into a full blown career path and doing well but taking life far to seriously and had this terrifying vision of the next 30 years just flying past. On a whim I jacked it all, sold up (had my own flat!), headed to Corfu and bought a bar. One Monday morning I was chilling on the beach in the sun realising I would normally have been sitting on the M25 in the rain. Although I was there for 5 years that moment really hit hard. Amazing!

Definitely my first year of uni!
But I’d also like to revisit my 20’s.. the youthful, handsome young me didn’t live life to the fullest back then and it is one of my biggest regrets now that I’m creeping into my 30’s.

For me the second half of the 70s then much of the 80s. Moved from Bedfordshire to Notting Hill in 1976. Had a girlfriend, music was amazing and evolving constantly. Punk, synth, new romantic etc. I was a poorly educated working class boy but my sister's boyfriend really expanded my mind. Got into quality newspapers, magazines, books, theatre, films, TV. Went to so many great gigs. On paper I was thick but I educated myself. It was a great time and now all these years later when I'm a sad old man I still look back on it as a golden age for me personally.

It's like in that slightly corny but sweet Richard Curtis movie 'About Time' - it's very hard to go back to a time before my son was born, in the best sense. Some of the most joyous moments have been with him and my wife, and they keep happening. A day on the beach with them :). In fact, we did that last weekend! 25oC in Brighton in the sea after a week-long insane heatwave. I'd go back there ;).
But to really go back it would be to when I first met my wife, those first few months together. After a lifetime of various heartbreaks and bullshit to be utterly comfortable with another person, from the first time we met (after talking online for a month). Getting married just 6 months later - never thought I would or that I would find it romantic. But I did, in the True Romance sense. Had to do it for visa reasons, so we had never even lived together at that point. Moved in after getting married and found we were both messily compatible in that too.
My friend always says that life loses sharpness from 18 onwards - that nothing is as precious, exciting, intense and captivating as being a child. Everything dulls over time (probably one reason we use drugs ;). And there is a lot of truth to that - being a kid in the countryside with my grandparents, I’d go back there just to feel it one more time and be with them. Being carefree and playing football with my friends there, running wild, being in the forest, picking mushrooms. It was a proper, wild childhood til I was like 5-6 (and then later I’d go back every summer from age 13). I try to give that to my son too for at least his summer holidays.
I don’t know, some sharpness is definitely lost but then depth is gained; experience and experiences. You understand the deep well of life more. And I think people can romanticise childhood too - there’s so much angst as well, and lack of freedom in another sense or at least lots of restrictions. But still, those were (mostly) wonderful times. And I get to experience some of the sharpness through my son now :). My university years were nice in certain ways, and would have been great, but my mum had severe depression then, which overshadowed everything (she's very well now ). And then a lot of my twenties was spent depressed because of those 3 years trying to study and care for her. So yeah, everything before and after that, I'd happily step back into for a few moments. But I'm also very happy where I am.

4-11... no responsibilities, loads of family and good friends around and I could play and daydream all day without consequence 🙃

Europe’s generals are warning people to prepare for war
"We have to accept losing our children.”
General Fabien Mandon, head of French armed forces.

I can accept losing our leaders and generals who are bringing this senseless murder to innocent children.

They WILL get to their ‘2030’ agenda any way that’s necessary.
I even bought a gas mask and filters- but why I do not know.

That photo instantly reminded me where n when I had a go on 1.. You’re just not gonna forget that are ya? 🫣
I remember my sight disappearing as the face mask filled with creamy goodness.
That would have been hash definitely.
Weed wasn’t as prevalent yet.

All I can say is that I'm 70 now. Lived through the Cold War and the nuclear arms race. Wasn't always great but wasn't too scared. I've never felt such existential dread before as I do now. Of course doomscrolling the constant access to the news now doesn't help but things feel so different now. What with the orange madman in the White House and his mate Putin in Russia, added to the fascist Netanyahu in Israel, it seems like we're heading for the mother of all fuck ups. It's out of our control and it's us ordinary Joes that will suffer.

Trump is determined to start something in Iran, and as always when the US goes to war, we'll be dragged in with them. Not that a war in Iran would last long.
Edit: It sucks to be right, and wrong.

Book readers in here? Recommendations?
Any book readers in here?
Baked last weekend with time to kill, decided to top it off by popping an edible or two and started re-reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Well... Suffice to say that I'm still thinking about it.
Metro 2033 was an interesting read while stoned, as was World War Z, I am legend, The Road, and the brilliant Children Of Men.
I will say, though, that reading Rosemary's Baby high left a very strange feeling in my heart. Like I truly have no idea what's happening just next door from me.
Y'all got any recommendations? Reading Lord of The Rings currently, then have a few philosophy & history books lined up.

i can't read books high as the words don't go in, and i find it amazing that anyone can!
but here are a couple of recommendations:
- mason & dixon, by thomas pynchon. possibly my favourite novel, and i recently finished a fourth or fifth reading of it.
- ways of being, by james bridle. fascinating book about AI, climate change, computing, and how we humans relate to (or fail to relate to) the non-human world.

oh good tip! and nice to know i'm not the only one who can't read when high.
i'm kinda resistant to audio books for some reason (i think podcasts fill that gap for me).
any favourite audiobook recommendations?

oh yeah I'm the same - can't really enjoy books stoned! Audio books are a good idea :)
Thomas Pynchon is such a good writer. My personal favourite is Gravity's Rainbow. Pretty sure that he would write a lot of his work completely high to help him get into the characters' heads...and then edit it sober. Which isn't a bad process. It's probably how he came up with a guy who's have sex when a missile falls, so they use his erection as an early warning system ;). Also a long, phantasmagorical trip down a toilet.

Wow - I can't believe I've never read Sherlock Holmes?! Sounds like an obvious thing... Need to add it to the list!

Seriously they are great and once you read them you understand why the name and stories haven’t disappeared enjoy !!!

Joe Abercrombie is my current favourite author. Kind of grim fantasy.
He builds characters so well you feel like you know them. Start with the First Law trilogy or The Heroes if you just want to dip your toe in.
If you prefer audiobooks the narrator who reads for him, Steven Pacey, is awesome. I didn't like audiobooks at all before listening to him

Been reading "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking",
Really interesting when you want to get into philosophy.

Hi there, I fulfilled a life goal (sadly it took a spine injury which is why I smoke so much lol) by collecting and reading every single Terry Pratchett book, namely the Discworld series, in order ofc lol. Described Like Lord of the Rings, but with comedy.
The early few books he's still finding his feet in the world he creates imo but soon it becomes a wonderfully weaved web of hilarity and a comparison of the real world and his own.
Theres also something for everyone, i personally like the "Guards" series following the careers of the officers there.
So many but a random quote without even checking.
"It's impossible to get through the day without committing some kind of crime, unless of course you stand all day in a dark basement.
But even then, you're probalbly guilty of loitering"
Theres a Wizards side, a Witches side, Trolls who get more intelligent the colder they get and DEATH, who really likes curry, and has a daughter.
I discovered this series over 20 years ago and now, read them all several times, have a peruse, theres something for everyone and all 40 odd books can be read individually or in sections

Bram stokers dracula , Dune by frank herbert ,anything by philip k Dick .. Gileads blood by Dan abnett.

If you like fantasy that doesn't take itself too seriously, anything by Joe Abercrombie. I've just finished his latest ' The Devils' and blew through it in a week, it's fantastic.

A couple of books I've really enjoyed reading while stoned are,
Jerusalem by Alan Moore.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
Jerusalem in particular opened doors to other realms, time, the Universe and our place within it that have never closed.

Anything Jeff Noon. Start with Vurt though. Falling Out Of Cars is my favourite by him.
Thoroughly depressing dystopian shit, all set in a future Manchester.
It’s great. If you haven’t read Jeff. Read him immediately. It’s so bleak it totally cheers you up.
Automated Alice.
He rewrote Alice In Wonderland the minute it was out of copyright. Set it in Manchester. In the future. Published that shit.
You have to read Vurt and Pollen first, or it’s just nonsense. 🤣
Aldous Huxley.
Ol’ Bull Lee, Hunter S.
Foucault
Ol’ Palahniuk
Carl Sagan
Trainspotting. Irvine Welsh. It’s kinda Nirvana the band, in book form.
The Bridge. Ian Banks. Wasp Factory if you haven’t read it. Espedair Street is a great book also.
Lanark. Alasdair Grey.
Only Forward/Spares. Michael Marshall Smith.
Underrated books, that guy writes, if you like fun books to read.
Keats. Yeats. Byron. Pinter. Meadows. Morrissey. Mark E Smith. Linton Kwesi Johnson. The poetry of people like Mike Skinner and the master, John Cooper Clarke.
Dickens
HP Lovecraft.
John Lydon.
Kevin Shields.
Not books. Sorry.
Illuminatus!, Cosmic Trigger. Robert Anton Wilson. Carlos Casteneda. Because sometimes you want the bollocks to be true. Bit of Church of The Subgenius. Our captain and saviour. Roberto Dobbs.
Terence McKenna. Food of The Gods.
That’s a book.
Desmond Morris. Errol Morris
Alesdair Crowley. And yes. Jimmy Page did buy his Scottish retreat.
Look into that one. It’s a deep, interesting rabbit hole.
Allen Ginsberg, Tom Wolfe, Jack (Daniels) Kerouac.
Anais Nin
Henry Miller.
Sexytime.
Bill Gibson. Alan Moore. Alan Martin. Bill Drummond.
I’ve given you enough to be getting on with. I wish I could be reading all of that shit for the first time.
Don’t read any of these books or authors. They are a big part of why I’m so dysfunctional.
They do all cut through the bullshit kinda nicely. If you are open to it.

A few of my absolute favourites:
A Confederacy of Dunces - by John Kennedy Toole
Darkness at Noon - by Arthur Koestler
Stoner - by John Edward Williams
(haha not our kind, it's the character's name)
Blood Meridian - by Cormac McCarthy
The Master and Margarita - by Mikhail Bulgakov
All of these books have become important parts of me ever since I read them :)
For non fiction:
Neurosis and Human Growth - by Karen Horney
^ this helped me out in a tough time! Really interesting re human psychology.

nice to see a pynchon fan!
mason & dixon is in my top 3 books of all time. read it probably 5 times at this point.

It has been a while since I have been able to sit and enjoy a book. Please send me the motivation to do so

I can't read while high, and can't read while drunk. Just don't remember the next day what I've read. I've read LOTR so many times I pretty much know it by heart. Charles Bukowski and Jack Kerouac are obvious choices. You have Cormac McCarthy in there. Blood Meridian will fry your brain as will any of his earliest books. Then read the Border Trilogy. Anything by WG Sebald is a trip. Journey to the End of the Night by Celine. And if you truly want to go down the dark route read HP Lovecraft.

I simply love Papillon.
Its a brilliant read and a rip snorting adventure.
The old man of the sea is another great read. Firm favourite.
Moby Dick and the white whale is sooo worth it. Its a huge undertaking but when approached in the right atate of mind its a hugely rewarding read. Brilliant travel or sickness/recovery companion.
Shantaram has deservedly popped up on this topic quite a few times. Good read. Especially if you are wary of dogs......
Enjoy all

Real life stuff i just got done reading the rodchenkov affair, which was a very interesting read although i suppose a bit of a niche topic 😅

I've gone through loads of the SF Masterworks and I'd say the majority of them are really good.

Obviously it helps if you like your scifi.
Someone else I came across recently on reddit is Exurb1a; The Fifth Science

Highly recommend, it's a collection of short stories that do sort of tie into one another. I loved it

Zoroastrianism" is interesting! Originates back over 3,500 years ago! I need to look into this! The last religion in Egypt when Cleopatra was alive was the "Worship of Isis" which was was over 4000 years ago, yet Hinduism is 4500 years old, crazy!
Please check out Rudolf Stiener "Atlantis and Lumeria" you will love that!

If your up for a mind blowing allegedly true story that is amazing try getting your hands on a copy of "The Vertical Plane" its an account of the Dodderton (that might not be spelt correctly) messages. I don't wanna spoil the plot for you or any potential readers so I'll leave it at that, anyone wanting to do there own research pre reading is welcome. Just learning about the incident is very interesting.

Favourite 2 all time full album’s you listened to over and over again
I’ll start Dr Dre 2001 and Bob Marley and the wailers.

Wu Tang Clan - Enter the Wu Tang (managed to see them in NYC for Rock The Bells 2010 performing the whole album was a dream comes true) and the second best album for me would be Gang Starr - Moment of Truth

finally someone said Blue Lines. It's odd because in a lot of ways musically I don't rate it highly, it's kind of clumsy in parts, some of the ideas are underdeveloped, some of it almost makes me cringe. But there was just something so special about that time and the sound felt so new and yet familiar. Even though their later stuff is "better" Blue Lines has such a permananet special place in my heart.

Prodigy - Music For Jilted Generation
Leftfield - Leftism
Could list plenty but these 2 are special 😎🥳🤯👽

Leftism is immense. It's been a while, I'm gonna have to fish it out the old collection.

Time well spent. As for The Prodigy, I saw them at Glasto in '95. They were flying high off the back of Music for the Jilted Generation. I vividly remember Keith (RIP) rolling onto the stage in a giant hamster ball. They were awesome. So much energy.

I was in the crowd too. Got a bleeding nose but was dancing so wildly I didnt realise. Everyone was freaking out and I was like...what..? It sort of strangely suited the moment.
Glastonbury 95 was epic!

I know I’m cheating but I got

dark side by pink floyd and blonde by frank ocean. i absolutely rinse both year after year :)

Tom Waits "Blue Valentine", Ry Cooder "Bop Till You Drop" - honourable mention to Joni Mitchell "Blue", Janis Joplin "Pearl", David Crosby "If I Could Only Remember My Name", and a gazillion others...

Raindogs is a great album. But for me the holy Tom trinity is Blue Valentine, Swordfishtrombones and Bone Machine. Then again he's my favourite artist and I don't think he's made a single dud album.

Since my favourite 2 have already been picked by loads of people, I'll go for...
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Portishead - Dummy
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
Portishead - Dummy

What's going on- Marvin Gaye..almost goes as a mix album the way the songs blend into one another. So relevant to today too.
Another I've played to death over the years is Joni Mitchell- Blue. Just a sublimely chilled album.
Many more, but these two I think I have probably played the most in my lifetime so far

Full albums I've actually listened to over and over are "The Wall" & "Graceland"
Really love listening to Graceland on a fresh sativa high)

Graceland brings back memories of my mum blasting that album most days when I was a kid

That's how I first heard it too when my mums friend got them the album back in the early 80s)

If you don’t know…wake up! 💯❤️

Hard to pick just 2, and I see a nearly all male list below...so:
Baduizm - Erykah Badu
Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
Midtown 120 Blues - DJ Sprinkles (couldn't leave this utter classic out!)

"The Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd: Released in 1973, this album is considered a masterpiece and one of the greatest progressive rock albums of all time. It features a conceptually unified theme and explores various philosophical and existential topics. Tracks like "Money," "Time," and "Us and Them" are widely loved.
"Thriller" by Michael Jackson: Released in 1982, "Thriller" is the best-selling album of all time and a cultural phenomenon. It revolutionized pop music, blending various genres and delivering iconic hits such as "Billie Jean," "Beat It," and the title track "Thriller."

Dark Side of the Moon, best album ever, bar none. 50 years old this year, same as me!
950 weeks on Billboard 200 chart! 750 of them consecutive!!
Lee 'Scratch" Perry - Open the Gate. Sadly deleted and expensive to buy, but can be downloaded online. 2 CDs of heavyweight 12". Jimmy Cliff got me listening to reggae, this album burnt it into my soul.

Dark Side of the Moon has got to be my first pick. Millionaires by James is great when you've got some sativa running through your system.

The b-side of the sit down single is Live at the Manchester Gmex. On headphones is still the best crowd singing of a song to date.

Never heard Dub Side of the Moon until today- bloody great👍- so big thanks for the heads up!!!

Wow!!!! Just WOW!
Dubside of the moon 🌙
Amazing..... how this has escaped me is beyond me 🤷♂️ I love darkside that much I have the prism tattood on my chest

utterly brilliant albumn Dubside, saw them do the 10th aniversary tour playing the whole albumn live its was epic.

I can safely say that Appetite for Destruction is the album I've listened to the most. Carousel by Subcircus has had well over 20 years love from me as well

My picks:
The Velvet Underground & Nico - just a classic album. Spaceman 3 "The Perfect Prescription" with an honorable mention for Ode to Street Hassle

2 is incredibly difficult, and I can't be the only one with eclectic tastes and a butterfly mind where these will all change regularly anyway. So I'll go with:
Ash - 1977
and
Kent - Hagnesta Hill (available in English and Swedish, so surely I get to choose both?)

I once worked on a tour of Denmark and Kent played , your comment is the only other time I’ve heard of them lol

That's so cool! Is this weird? The most unbelievably amazing band that almost no-one has ever heard of, or so it seems. They filled stadia in Scandinavia.

There are loads of full albums I’ll listen to…naming just two, well the two most recent ones that spring to mind for me Acid Bath-when the kite string pops and Oasis - definitely maybe not a bad track on either one.

Muse - Absolution( regardless if you like the band the story of the end of the world from start to end is amazing!)
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York
Nirvana - Unplugged in New York

Script of the Bridge by The Chameleons. Some friends told me they would bury the album with me, I'd go to sleep listening to it.
Scary Monsters by Bowie, time of life thing for me 'Teenage Wildlife'.

Mrdeeds36, yes it is, blinding track, good to hear from another fan. 'Up the down escalator' is my anthem for a crazy world today.
Light up, smile and wave.

"They sit at their tables and throw us the scraps
For Christ's sake leave us something!
Now they can erase you at the flick of a switch
How long now will it take now?
There must be something wrong boys"
I adore this period of post punk before brit pop came along and fudged it. IMO lol
Swamp Thing from Strange Times is another brilliant song.

You nailed it with the lyric mate.
They were a good band live, too.
I agree with you.

Hi Mate, Got 'Script of the bridge' playing again this weekend. The album seems more poignant than ever.
Light up and have a good weekend.
Light up and have a good weekend.

Hey bud, I'm well thanks and intend to have a good weekend, it's my bday on Monday so have started early with some very nice and mood lifting Cap Junky, then for some stand up comedy me thinks.
Script of the Bridge will always be applicable to me. Finding some albums feels like finding treasure and it's one of those albums, as is From the lions mouth by The Sound, which if you haven't heard I profoundly recommend. Have a good'n mate and tell me, what are you smoking on matey and have you chonged anything recently with strong euphoric/giggly affects?

Happy Birthday mate.
I will be listening to that recommendation later today.
Smoking 'red apple' Leb, 'apple tart' Maroc hashish and just got some 'Sunset Sherbet' and 'Billy Kimber' bud, all amazing.

Hi Mr, Really liked that album, how did I miss that? Do you like 'sad lovers and giants' and 'and also the trees' ?

Never heard of either band before this shout. I listened to Epic Garden Music this morning on a hike and it's fantastic love the use of the keyboard and you can really hear early elements of shoegaze taking shape on tracks like "Lope" and "ART".. This is a very good band crisp.. Try listening to Soul Mining and Dusk by The The and tell me what you think. Anyway stay cool compadre.

This is tough but going on repeats alone I reckon these pip it,
Riding with the king - Clapton and BB King
We're new here - Jamie xx and Gil Scott-Heron

So glad someone has shouted out Jamie xx, amazingly talented music producer the first album with him and his sister The Xx I can’t even guess how many times I’ve listened to it, song 1 known as intro is a work of art. I’m gutted they or he have released so little but sadly he probably earns more producing for other artists who are more mainstream?
Not heard of your other suggestions but will check them out based on your clearly good taste !

dEUS The Ideal Crash and Pretty Hate Machine NIN. Never tire of those two... There are many more but these two popped out my cheesebox first.

Dre 2001 and Fleetwood Mac Rumours.
Fleetwood Mac especially. Playing that album on a good car stereo on a nice road in the summer. Great times....👌🎶
Cheers BB 😊👍🍻

Reading the comments, we’re such a bunch of mixed people here haha (GOOD) I think I saw every genre. I don’t really have 1 album I like but it’s one song from a few if you get me.

Cheap Thrills - Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company. Aqualung - Jethro Tull. Both are extraordinary (to me, anyway) with a good dose of THC.

Just 2 …thats tricky!!
Some have already mentioned primal scream screamadilca. I played underworld dubnobasswithmyheadman a lot as well, but I think I will actually plump for depeche mode violator and u2 Joshua tree, 2 albums that got played a lot and got me through life…

such an impossible question but I'll go with 2 albums I've been loving for over 30 years and not remotely bored of:
gang starr - step in the arena
autechre - tri repetae
gang starr - step in the arena
autechre - tri repetae

Been reminiscing about my early smoking days and two albums come to mind from that era that might not be too obvious:
Feels by Animal Collective
Freak folk types crooning through a psychedelic wall of sound. Production on this album is spot on and contributions from Kria Brekkan on keys really fills out the sound. I haven't enjoyed anything they've done since very much. This is peak AC in my opinion.
Microcastle by Deerhunter
Poppier than their previous efforts but their best record front to back in my opinion. Well crafted songs with catchy hooks enhanced by shoegazey guitar tones and production values.
Bonus mention for Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes by TV on the Radio. "Dreams" used to be one of my favourites to light one up to.

1. Nightmares On Wax - Smokers Delight
2. Augustus Pablo - King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown
Both PERFECT with a spliff or 12.

Whatever people say I am that's what I'm not by Arctic Monkeys and Constant Dikestar by Dirty Dike 🤟

https://youtu.be/k9ynZnEBtvw?si=8Or1hoDghBzPiMRn best album ever in my opinion sounds like it was released yesterday, led zepplin 3 love this album right now ❤️☮️

Third World - 96 Degrees in The Shade (1977)
Micheal Hurley- Snockgrass (1980)
Honestly I have so many favourite albums. Its hard to choose just 2 🤔

Dre's 2001 deffo top 10 for me. Its tough a one, but Hybrid Theory and Slim Shady LP are what I settled on after starring at my PC screen for 20 mins internally debating the question lol The first Buffy soundtrack sat on repeat for about 3 years in my teens too haha

So recently discovered an artist called honestav and his album hara-kiri is one of these albums for sure

For me it's got to be lupe fiasco lasers album deluxe edition. And Hopsin No shame album. Can listen to every song on both and never get bored

Pound for pound the best around
If you like edibles as much as I do, then there is no comparisons on the market....
CannaBears THC/CBD gummies
UK Produced & Best Seller...
Delicious & Discrete...
Tried & Tested Formula...
Must Try & Great Value for Money...
These ganja gummies are a consistent, fun and tasty way to control your THC intake. They come in mixed fruit flavour bags inc.
Lemon, Orange, Lime, Raspberry, Grape, Apple, Peach, Pineapple, Bubblegum and many more...
You have the choice of either '*PLAIN*' or '**TANGTASTIC**' (with a sour sweet coating) that helps cover the distinct flavour of the oil.
They are also Kosher and Halal ?
I make all my products with highest quality and refined RSO oil. I add CBD to the mix to balance out the THC dose. This gives the patient the full spectrum, that marijuana and its qualities have to offer. I include a generous amount of this mixture, which equates to approx 20mg per bear. A plain bear weighs approx 1.3g's and once you try one you will be able to easily identify the active ingredients. ? Pound for pound these sweets are prize fighters...

I've posted elsewhere about how happy I was to have found these little bears. I've always enjoyed a mild high and half is spot on for me. Whoever you are, solid work and thank you !

Welcome to the site. Your products sound great. Just to warn you the profile picture you have could be considered to be breaking site rules and could see you banned without warning. I am not affiliated with the site but I've seen people have their pages restricted for less.

Thank you for your recommendation I appreciate it. I hope the new one suits better.

All good! I just didn't want to see you guys get any issues before you even get out the gates. Will drop an order in for some gummies in the near future.

Hi Biggaz
Agreed 100% you have to watch out what you put on the wall, this place start to be really weird. Stay safe all'ya Biggaz.

some famous fails for sure but what are the success stories they dont tell us about?

German Peasant's War (where the word communism derives), Paris Commune, two Russian revolutions minus the Bolsheviks, Makhnochina, Spanish revolution, German revolution, May 68, etc. etc. etc.
Losing in the first half don't mean the game's over.

I don't think Communism has ever worked as Capitalists are always creaming off the top.
A great book on the subject is Eat The Rich by the US satirist (and huge drug consumer) P.J. O'Rourke. I think his and my politics are probably polar opposites, but you could get fucked up at a party with him and have an amazing time. Anyway, good book. Breaks down all sorts of different political stances, and Good Communism is one chapter, and Bad Communism another. He's a funny guy, but maybe don't consider it as in depth reasoned academic analysis.
Ah, fuck. He died in 2022. No future parties.

Come on down voters give me a success story if you don't like the truth?? Bloody Marxists never except that it doesn't work. What ever iteration you can think of it WONT WORK!!!! everyone being the same sucks the fun out of life accept that hard work pays!

I'm not advocating for Communism but our society is full of people grafting their respective genitalia off that are still struggling financially. The idea that hard work pays ( properly) is a idea propagated by people seeking to exploit the labour of others. Nobody should need to claim benefits whilst working full time and yet...
Fwiw, I do advocate for a mixed economy. Nationalised energy, health, water, public transport etc and luxuries at the will of the free market.

You shouldn't be allowed to claim any benefits while in full time employment. It's crazy, we are basically subsidising employers who ought to be paying more.

And I hope that, one day, employers decide paying a living wage is more important than ever increasing profits such that in work benefits are no longer necessary. I propose a link between maximum and minimum pay within an organisation. Let's say; no pay ( overall package including bonuses, perks and dividends) higher than 5x the lowest full time salary.

it wouldn't even have to be a regulation, the government does business with so many companies and beneficiaries. if they don't have these multiples in place no people's funds.

employers don't make that call so much as owners do and when the owner is the stock market it's quite blind to anything but profits.
when the owners are the employees this changes priorities.
when the owners are the employees this changes priorities.

Exactly this - capitalism needs the grafters, the hardworking cogs to keep coming in to replace those that fall off or fall through the cracks.

"that hard work pays" is often true and the capitalists don't only pontificate this to the masses they teach it to their children. children they practise communism with.

You should look into some unbiased reporting on the soviet Union, and some witness statements from the older generation who lived through it.
You will find that many of them tell you life was better in the USSR, than in post USSR Eastern Europe and Russia. Besides that they were several decades ahead of the west on womens rights and social services.
But like anything good, the Americans bring it down from the inside, or out, USSR, Great Britain, either way. Their media controls the narritive, and communism effects their ability to steal all the money. There is a reason Cinema is oversaturated with anti Communist rhetoric.
I'd honestly rather have the worst communist government, than be America number 2.

i'd settle for being ireland number 0.5 :)
they currently have more than double the uk's gdp per capita
they currently have more than double the uk's gdp per capita

Yeah and east germany was the most successful communist country of all, just ask anyone that wasn't killed trying to leave.

Have you ever listened to Konstantin Kisin? A Jewish family - He moved when he was 9 from the ussr to England at the end of the soviet Union just before the fall. His first hand account of his own life tells a very different story to what you describe.

The communists on this thread think KK first hand account of late soviet communism is invalid for some reason.
I suspect many of them have never listened to a reasonable, adult centrist common sense. Perhaps it is not synonymous with the cult like adherence to social, political orthodoxy that would like to see nebulous victimhood everywhere.

I’m sure there are loads they just don’t teach us about them. Capitalism doesn’t work either does it? Too many greedy pocket filling bastards. We are all the same having money doesn’t make you better than anyone else, the fact you are here spouting this shows what a sad state the world is in 😞

under capitalism hard work has never paid and never will pay lmfao. communism actually prioritises labour, capitalism is about fat pigs at the top skimming off 99% of the profit we produce for them. do you not find it utterly insane tesco has like 5 different in-house brands with varying prices for essentially the same product? or that having less money means you have to settle for lower quality products that are worse for you and spoil faster?

So, you don't think lifting 4/5ths of the world out of relative poverty can be considered "paying off"?
OK Che, communism good 🤣👌
OK Che, communism good 🤣👌

do you have a source for this? not trying to challenge so much as i would like to learn more about it. maybe there is even a way the community could help.

food for the hungry is legit and accepts crypto

there are community outreach programs and obviously government funded systems like food banks to help, but the crisis only really exists because the capitalist system is designed that way. we have the resources to end world hunger but it's not economically beneficial so it will never happen

Does the existence of those children make anything I said less true?
Strawman though. I didn't make a claim that there is no poverty in any country. I think you missed the qualifiers "relative" and "4/5ths" of the world.
I would say, that "starving" inarguably applies to way less than 1 in 5 children in the UK, US or anywhere in the West which makes your point about the ills of capitalism fairly moot in context.
I am no fan of cronyism, and I don't think capitalism is utopia, but it's insane to try and persuade anybody that communism would do better than this.
Thanks for the downvotes. I have over a thousand upvotes and less than 30 down.
Drop me a line next time you are tipping your bathwater into the atalantic. I'll do it too 🤣

…
You stop your quotations at an expedient place. If you would have been less disingenuous about your framing, you would be honest about the fact that the reason I said it was to point out that the users who's position I criticised (fairly and civilly) had no reply apart from the futile downvotes, as I was describing.
If I was trying to persuade anybody of anything about me with only what you have entered in your own quotation marks as the context then I'd tend to agree with you. Given that you have totally taken it out of the context it was said (I mean it was clear the previous person was making downvotes vexatiously, in place of an actual cogent argument against what I was saying.
I think you probably know that, but don't care because you disagree with me 🤣 how about tackle me with some argumental substance rather than downvotes.
So, yeah, moot point. Wind your neck in mush.

In other words, you have nothing worth saying because you are too vacuous to argue your way out of the little communist hole you dug 🤣
Thick.

Do you mean the actual communists who don't want to respond to fair and cogent points about their lack of reasoning?

Hey man, great discussion, and I'm no authority but I had to retort to your 'hard work pays' comment: I have to disagree, hard work doesn't pay - call me whatever but nurses, teachers, delivery drivers, anyone in public service, works their asses off for little pay and much abuse from all sides.
We exist in Capitalism and while hard work and 'hustle' works for a short period for a small number, hard work is not a critical proponent of Capitalism, that's increasingly evident, imo.

Nice alt greenbeans/cherry cola. I can't believe you are actually calling other people schizo and creating multiple accounts to appear to support yourself 🤣

you are a literal schizo, my comment was just insulting you for being a pathetic redditor bragging about 1000 upvotes ,never mentioned politics, this guys actually responding with points and now you dont respond because you schizophrenically think im him. 😂😂😂

You didn't respond with any political talk aside from your comment about reddit that makes NO sense. Yes, you really didn't. But you did downvote every comment I made on this thread within a minute when you appeared on it before we had any interaction. Just as restricted account Tiger man did 🤣

you bragged about having 1000 upvotes which is pathetic redditor behaviour 😂 not that difficult to figure out as long as you arent an obsessed psychotic responding 5 times to a little comment, oh wait 😂😂😂

I'm actually really surprised that you are hating on reddit. There are so many commies on there that want everybody else to do the hard work for them. Sounds up your street.

I came here to say this. Glad someone else knows what's going on.
It's gradual. Socialism is the route to communism. The NHS, which we are all trained from an early age to worship, was one of the first big steps in socialism. Benefits too.
Do you all remember when Richard Madeley of all people called out Susan Michie for being a member of the Communist party? She was a main player in the 'behaviour science' part of the scamdemic. Do you remember how we were all pressured into performing that awful clap for the NHS gesture? That was like something out of North Korea/China, where citizens are softly compelled into worshipping the state - like those obvious crocodile tears that were shed over Kim of N Korea.
Ugh, most people are too close to it to see it but it is ABUNDANTLY clear.
I would recommend anyone to watch Yuri Bezmenovs lecture on how the west gets subverted to Communism. He was a soviet defector who used to subvert countries and bring them into the soviet fold for a living.

The rich people who own the media want to push an ideology that stops them being able to hoarde all the wealth? care to explain how that makes sense?

I don't think you'll find any. They've tried it and hundreds of millions died. Ok in principle but man's greed quickly takes over.

yeah it's the trickery of it from the knowers side and the sheer gullibility from the mark.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"
To the naive person, this quote from Marx sounds like everyone will just pull their own weight for others and everyones needs will be met.
But with the benefit of hindsight, it is clearly a recipe for slave labour/the gulag system where each man is worked to his utmost but only has his basic needs met. Pretty clear with the benefit of hindsight.
There are no luxuries. Worked to the max, as much as your body can stand and in return you are provided a concrete bed, thin blanket and bowl of gruel twice a day. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

There are no luxuries. Worked to the max, as much as your body can stand and in return you are provided a concrete bed, thin blanket and bowl of gruel twice a day. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Yes, the realities of a fringe political experiment that has resulted in serious human disaster and loss of life every single time it has been tried makes great satire if you have your head so far in the sand that you can't and won't learn from the past. Come on Che, you are convincing nobody with your smarmy , condescending replies that do not rebut the subject matter. It's totally lazy.

“Best examples of communism”? A bourgeois framing! The Paris Commune—1871—was the first workers’ government: producers seized power, abolished class privilege. Short-lived, but its essence: *proletarian dictatorship* as communism’s midwife. True communism isn’t a “model”—it’s the *movement* to bury capital.

Kerala (India) is the best example of communism. It’s a massive success story and I really hope the party can grow into other states of India

If we ask what communism is attempting which is elimination of hierarchy, collective ownership and resource equality it looks good on the surface but in reality if you look at Cuba and ask any Cuban that managed to fled the country they will tell you when communism is applied through force and suppression it disrupts and destroys instead of harmonising. Sadly we feel it never comes without corruption at it's core...maybe Vietnam?

It doesn't work
Never has, never will.
The communists and socialists will tell you that " it just hasn't been done properly"
Problem is, they always need other peoples money to spend...

The only people with positive stories perished in the gulags.

Maybe could have worked in Russia if not for Stalin. The guy was a psycopathic shit. That said he did industrialise the country which had been largely feudal. Crazy that despite his murderous tendencies his memory has been restored in current day Russia. It would also have been interesting to see how Cuba would have worked out if left alone and not crippled by the USA. I guess the biggest problem with Communist regimes is the suppresion of political freedom and individual rights. Once they're in power they cling on to it by crushing all Opposition. In that respect they're no different from theocracies or fascist dictatorships.

Its a pipe dream, we are all living under an authoritarian dictatorship disguised as something else and it doesn't matter where you are that's just how it is.
What doesn't seem to be understood is that despite what you are led to believe nearly everyone in the world has more in common with eachother than they don't and non of the current leadership, the oligarchs or the current appointed shop floor managers (politicians) aren't doing anything about it.
And to get a rise from people.
China is winning on making it better and we are not allowed to participate in that.
Although realistically China is winning at the current version and realistically China has always been winning except for a minor blip.

Not exactly a success story but interesting fact. There are more cannabis users per capita in Communist North Korea than there are in any other country. They smoke to relieve the pain of living there.

Best example of communism... in the ground... deep in the ground with the devil from whence it came.

yet when everyone looks above and sees devils we know what cycle communism - or now capitalism - is in.

It doesn’t work people become lazy and there will always be those who have and those who have nothing.
Argentina’s current turnaround under Javier Milei from socialist basket case to small state and low interference is what you should be talking about. We don’t need the public sector time to slash it.
We need to get our self respect back relying on the state has made us weak and pathetic.

We are already experiencing communism even in the modern world , it's a hybrid between communism and democracy , based on feelings and personal I , me Happiness and DEI.
Don't work , hand outs , nobody knows what a woman is , men are all monsters and rapists , everyone can be whatever they FEEL , massive division - past remembering - payouts for past events , people split into groups protesting, government is everything - Marxsism 1:1 .

Chile - About to fall

Australia - About to fall
USA - About to fall - massive border issues and most cities are walking dead with people zombies being poor and homeless.
UK - about to crash due to importing victimhood across all minorities , brits on mute mode not even saying anything to anyone.
Go woke in a country and your entire society crashes.
Capitalism + Merrit Based society is the only one working.
This has been in the works tho since the 90s - starting with the feminisation of men and masculinisation of women - Split up with your men , you can do whatever you want , then they wake up at 40's with a carrer , no fam and alone crying on Socials crying for a men.
Men - don't react , be soft , toxic masculinity , every reaction has been deemed as something is wrong with you.

North Korea is the only one truly communist spot ON and it's only because the majority of the population simply wants to live like that , they don't know anything else , never did , not every nation is attracted to this notion of rich , poor ,progress yourself some just want to live like in a big Foster care home totally controlled.

Communism is inherently tyrannical. History shows that. There aren’t any examples of success for a reason. It goes against the human spirit. Millions more died die to its tyranny than under the Nazis but you never see documentaries on the BBC or Netflix about Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot. Capitalism isn’t perfect by a long way but meritocracy is natural and drives progress. People to an extent sort themselves into roles and structures on natural ability and interest. Socialism just teaches people to rely on the state whilst the state gets to dictate how people think and behave. It’s ideological tyranny on the one extreme and financial exploitation of a liberal society by the few on the other. My grandad was a carpenter and paid his subs to his union for years until he acknowledged the financial and ideological corruption that it was based on.

…
There has never been one.
Governments, inherently are untrustworthy, the larger they are.
More proclivity to tyranny the smaller they are - which the libertarians are blind to.
There should be a lassez faire way to govern, with a balanced and adequately sized government.
Modern progressives don't like to hear this, but capitalism has lifted the world out of relative poverty, to the extent that nothing that came before it has been more beneficial to both quantity and quality of life.
Necessary evils are all around us. We think if we are selective about the ones we talk about, then the ones we don't want to talk about will disappear for some reason.

i love britpop when the weather is british. cloudy and white seems to resonate with all that high pitched guitar and chorus. does anybody else feel this kind of thing?

Been buying music for over 55 years. These days I find my taste is all over the place. When the weather is hot and sunny as it is now I definitely tend towards the hippy mellow stuff in my collection. Have played Townes Van Zandt and Sandy Denny, currently listening to Nick Drake, then thinking of going to the Incredible String Band and Donovan. Yes I'm an old fart so this won't resonate much with you youngsters but it makes me happy! Humour me, it's what we got stoned to back in the day!

Dusty!
I was born 1955. Had a sister six years older than me. I grew up on her music, plus we had the radio on all the time to provide a soundtrack to our lives. Dusty was so much a part of my childhood. She was so good. Of course the Beatles were huge too. My eldest sister was a member of the fan club and shook hands with them all after the premier of Hard Day's Night. Have loved the Beatles all my life but can't listen to them any more because it makes me sad thinking of good times long gone.

WOW 😳😳 you are same age like my father 😂 fair play still blazing🤩 love music 🎶 from Old good days.

You never stop my friend. Until death lays his cold hand on your shoulder. Until then keep doing whatever you need to do to make your life worthwhile. Physically I'm old, mentally I'm still the same as I was 50 years ago. I really don't want to sound patronising but believe me one day you will know what I mean. I look in the mirror and think what the fuck but in my mind I'm still the same old boy I was before (nod to the Eagles there).

Loved it. Shook things up. Still listen to my old albums now and again, "Never Mind the Bollocks", Siouxsie and the Banshees "Scream", the early Elvis Costello, Subway Sect, Gang of Four etc.

Fake weed forum....... bring back the old suppliers. Suppliers these days are all crooks.... firstly they get bulk of weed then put it in a tumbler and shake it to take the crystals off the bud so they can make there pillen and dope then the weed gets sprayed with terps to give the buds a flavour again. This is why the dope is dearer than the weed... absolute scams going on here. People need to wake up and start refusing this poison on here these days. There is a handful of sellers that are legit but 95% on here is selling fake thc grass... all its doing is making people sick

Where are today’s protest singers?
Depends how you classify protest. I'd say Bruce Springsteen, Iris DeMent, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tom Waits, at a pinch you could add Pulp though…

Just listening to gill Scott herons first album ‘a new black poet’ , he still has the power to shock.who are today’s protest singers.
Is urban rap and hip hop, choose your genre, the new protest platform. Or is it just a mysoginist, homophobic, violent twisted reflection of city life from those excluded from the mainstream.
Is stormsy the new urban Dylan.?

IDLES are pretty spot on politically and that shows in their lyrics! ‘The only way to scare a Tory is to read and get rich’.

Don't want to start a war between them but... Dave > Stormzy :P
edit - don't know whats going on with lb but this post went wacky, anyway jokes aside Dave actually deserves a little shout in this. The live performance of Black was really invoking and things like Question Time and Children of the Internet will appeal to any stoned thinker haha :) - at least the UK scene isn't just kids dying on cough medicine after one youtube hit, wtf happened to America?!

You've got a lot to choose from in metal.
Check out some of the following:
Body Count: Black Hoodie
Body Count: No Lives Matter
Lamb of God: Poison Dream
Lamb of God: Now you've got something to die for
Dead Label: Dystopian Complex
Lock Horns: Blood and Oil
Gojira: Silvera
And I know this is basically a pisstake, but Dethklok Detharmonic in on point.

I'd say for this definitely Run The Jewels. Akala is still about as well. Immortal technique is meant to be releasing a new album soon. I don't think we will see the likes of a band like RATM again for sometime

Left a RATM gig with cracked rib from the most hectic mosh pit I’ve ever known, mega fun. Second best mosh was the Pogues in 88.

I saw someone with there arm twisted the wrong way being carried out of a RATM set. Reading 96' I believe. Great set, terrifying moshpit.. Did it anyway though. Fun times.

I agree the power of the music to inform and protest is lost, but straight out of the gate, you have macklemore Hinds Hall (this came out of nowhere!). Whatever your position on the conflict (or the tune) it sums up what the issue is. Bands are commodities and businesses know they can be used to influence, so they invest heavily. And if you don't tow the line then your out!

Depends how you classify protest. I'd say Bruce Springsteen, Iris DeMent, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tom Waits, at a pinch you could add Pulp though they're more against our modern way of life than against the way we are governed. I admit I'm not up to speed with "modern" music. I'm 70 for fuck's sake!

I forgot Public Enemy are still going strong.
I think they cornered the market in the American black protest field fighting fire with fire to show the other side of the American nightmare.

Protest the Hero + Show Me the Body are two bands that spring to mind. These are certainly not protest artists sonically, as they are both heavier guitar bands, but are both aggressively anti-establishment, discussing topics you won’t hear other artists sing about.

Unfortunately he grew up and joined new labour.
Saw him live at least dozen times, used to do loads of small gigs and protests. I was in socialist workers party and he was doing loads of fundraisers for the miners.

Just as much intolerance on the left as on the right. We live in a shallow social media driven world. In which we all eat consume far too much whilst slowly killing ourselves and the planet. Facebook, mcdonald's,nike etc. It's a shallow, plastic world and that's not a suitable environment for growing protest singers.

Sort of agree, unfortunately the mass media (particularly print media) are owned run by right wing, ie Sun, times, telegraph etc

The BBC, THe Guardian Newspaper, Channel 4, ITV to name a few left wing media outlets.
And for the BBC to be so biased is a disgrace just look at the stats over 14% LBGTQ within there workforce as opposed to 0.4% in most other organisations massively disproportionate.
Also the mainstream media seems to love to demonise the working classes.
The white indegoius male is despised by the main stream media especially the BBC.
All I do know is before all this WOKE nonsense started we had not been at this much level of war activity since the second World War and now look at all this mess.
Weak leftist policies have risked our safety and security to the point where I worry about my relatives safety in the UK and have also made us a target from forces that want to destroy us.
You need only look at who was the London mayor best mate at UNi for example ? None other than the leader of Albasha terror GROUP. and if that does not worry you to realise that if all this wokey business continues there won't be no western songs ti sing no more because they will be banned.
I remember the cold War, I remember living in the troubles and feeling and hearing the sounds of cemtex around me and going through the checkpoints. I talk from experience and no the real dangers that all this liberal far left nonsense brings as I have lived and breathed this shit before.

Of the people in the YouGov survey who identified as supporting the Conservatives, 15% thought the BBC is generally a little more favourable towards the left and 23% thought they were much more favourable. I blame the growing influence of the network - attentions turning inwards as the younger generation start living in the fantasy of the online world. I showed my teenage step daughter the matrix the other day thinking she'd love it - her response "why would anyone choose not to stay in the matrix"!

its a perfect substrate for protest. people have the means and motive.
that's why there is tons of it in rap, singing is as dead as springsteen.

Best British DJ?
Well for us old timers when DJ meant something different it has to be John Peel and Annie Nightingale! Going back even further when the radio was ever…
RIP Randall, spent many many hours listening to him in 1989 on Centre force, respect ✊🏼 ❤️

Yes he's defo up there aswell. Never had the pleasure of seeing him live. He doesn't seem to do many shows up near me. HC closed the ring one year at beatherder an it blew my mind. I think the copious amounts of drugs helped!

There’s lots of good DnB DJ’s, Calibre is the best producer in my humble opinion. Technically Andy C is in a league of his own, I’ve been following him for over 20 years, he smashes it every time. Recently, his XOYO residencies were next level 🔊🔊 HC is a don too, Racing Green is 👌🏻

I remember Carl Cox doing 3 decks at Sterns nightclub in 92 ! Rat pack were there. Theres Druid, Mr C loads ! In that genre

You could run 10 decks... makes no difference its all for show. Watch DJ Craze and see what running just 2 decks is all about.

As a producer/creator he is unbeatable and way ahead of his time. Not a DJ tho.
he was sooo next level. what a fkn legend
he was sooo next level. what a fkn legend

Such a hard one to answer as DJing crosses so many genres, I’m breaking mine down a bit
Best all rounder - Mr scruff , can start with jazz and end with DnB
DnB - for me LTJ bukem but Goldie a second place
House/Tech - Sasha
Techno - Carl cox
Electronica - aphex twin and also chemical brothers
My favourites are DJs who take you on a journey starting at one place and ending somewhere different!! Big mentions also for me are Alex patterson , steve hillage system 7, DJ yoda , Randall, Fabio , John digweed

For being at the top consistently for so long and still so good live…Shy FX has to be up there

DJ Randall, Hype, Gamma. I just bought myself some second hand decks and enjoying learning the ropes

DJ EZ deserves more love here.
Not especially my kind of music (he mostly plays london-style garage), but his skills are next level. A rare example of someone utilising digital turntable technology to do things you can't do with analogue turntables rather than being a fucking lazy dj.

Easiest bitcoin exchange?
Hi All. I took a break from weed for a while and now need to buy some. The vendor i got bitcoin from before no longer exists so need a new one. I wasnt a fan of Coinbase in the past so need recommendations for other the simple / smooth alternatives. Cheers 🫡

Have a look at bisq.network, its a p2p network were to buy crypto from other 'users', no ID required.

Can second the recommendation of Kraken, always been really user friendly for me, then I use exodus for the anonymous wallet

I took a long break too. I used to use Paybis with no problem but when I came back it wouldn't verify my account. Tried a few and ended up with Coinbase and have to say I haven't had any problem with them. I find the whole bitcoin thing a pain in the arse but it's been relatively pain free with Coinbase for me.

You can buy it P2P on Bisq or Robosats, then move to Exodus and then pay through Exodus app. It has more privacy than straight from bank card - Exodus / Kraken and final to Transaxe.

After many years my bank stopped letting me send money to any crypto exchange the daft cunts.
So I opened a Revolut account that is both a bank and a crypto exchange thereby making it even simpler as its all inhouse, fast and efficient. Nice!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, as a revolut customer myself, have you seen the email that went out at the end of last week?
In a nutshell, they have stated that they will no longer permit crypto transfers to any and all previously used addresses/wallets. So that's it as far as LB is concerned I fear.

Oh, I didn't see that email, thanks. My only thought is that LB generates a new address for every order so it won't be previously used. I've always just sent it direct to LB. Have you tried yet since this notification? I wonder if Revolut will let me send cash to Bitpanda?- then I can carry on as before.
This is all getting very tedious!
This is all getting very tedious!

Came through on the 23rd. I'll put up a copy once I've de-personalised my version. Or something like that. Makes pretty depressing reading.
Personally I think this is just the start of a prolonged effort to stop bitcoin being used as we and many, many others do.
They're not interested in the whales, it's the minnows they're after. But we're not stupid are we. If we can come up with LB, then we can work out another payment method too. I think we must. And quickly. If you can't pay, then it all falls apart.

Yeah its getting bad now- I seem to have a whole stack of crypto accounts. Will try Kraken next if Revolut is already bust or I can't transfer from there to Bitpanda. I'll share my experience!

Hiya Polly
I transfer sterling from my bank to revlout card , buy from paybis - Exodus, then

All addresses that you send to on LB are brand new, never used before, and zero balance, so I have no idea how this is flagged to the exchange if sending directly. My Phantom wallet specifically warns me that this is a zero balance address with no previous transactions, and do I wish to proceed. Invariably I do.

Oh yeah good point, I don't get it either. But I've definitely heard of people sending direct from Coinbase and getting banned or shadowbanned (ie the transactions just never go through). Maybe they are going by something else, some algorithmic pattern. I've always used Exodus in between just in case (although one person on here claimed they got shadowbanned when always sending to a self-custody wallet first). But, in any case, it seems like any bank can just arbitrarily decide to block us from sending to a specific crypto exchange. Which is shit. Coinbase has some disclaimer where it says banks are increasingly doing this, under the guise of fraud prevention, to clamp down on crypto use. They recommend using Revolut or Monzo to fund the account (but seems like the former is turning the screws as well...ever since it became an official bank? I might open a Monzo account as well, just in case)

yeah all very tedious! I thought that card transactions for crypto were sometimes flagged but not transfers. How did the bank announce the block Polly? What idiots. Oh and was wondering about that too - what about a transfer *from* Revolut to the exchange? Or from Monzo or something.

It was nuts. The transaction was blocked with a message to call the Fraud Department and I was transferred to Crypto Fraud. This has happened before and I have explained that I am building a small crypto portfolio with regular small transfers, no I am not being co-erced or blackmailed and there is nobody holding a gun to my head for my 65 quid.
I could tell they were out to get me this time. They took the account number and sort code of the transfers and eventually came back with "that account has been connected with fraud".
My points were: "so you are saying Bitpanda is a fraudulent business?"
"No, we are saying that account has been reported for fraudulent activity"
"But thats their bank account. Why don't you discuss it bank to bank? Its nothing to do with me, I've used it dozens of times over a number of years as you can see and I have no concerns"
"We cannot authorise transfers to that account"
End Of. This is just sweeping up the little guys for effect whilst the big guys trade billions every single day. Pathetic.

Thanks for the info - jesus christ, so ridiculous! Treating us like children (it's our fuckin money to spend!) so they can tick their anti-fraud boxes (while allowing the fat cats to run amok). I once had a bank call me up suddenly to lecture me on my spending habits...and then try to sell me insurance on the same call. Have you tried Coinbase btw? I think with them it's better to send to an intermediary wallet first, before LB, cos they do their own blocks - but they generate you individual bank details with your own name to transfer to the exchange. Might help with your issue!

I'm going to open an Exodus wallet. Everything I google says I can send btc from both Bitpanda & Revolut to Exodus and everyone here says I can send Exodus to LB. Does that sound right?
But why can't I just buy btc on Exodus and then send it to LB if I don't give a shit about the risk of being labelled a dirty drug riddled criminal?

They could potentially look into the wallet if it's connected to them? Not really sure mate. You're providing KYC information to buy, therefore negating the non-KYC aspect of the wallet? But your first paragraph is completely correct. I'm currently favouring Phantom as a non-KYC wallet as the fees seem to be lower than with Exodus. I may be imagining it, but it certainly seems that way.

can someone recommend a site to purchase bitcoin without I.D. my passport and driving license ran out ages ago so I can't provide KYC I've used the 700Euro from Mercuryo (had to use a vpn to say i was in Ireland) and the $1000 Wert provides before insisting on KYC and now I'm flat out of bitcoin unless I get my passport sorted
thanks
p.s. I use Exodus external wallet so far no problem

OK, so I just looked it up and it looks like you have 2 things to register via Bittylicious: Proof of name, and proof of address.
The former is almost all official government documents, but they also let you register this with a PASS Card (which I'd never heard of, and had to look up...) It seems like this could be obtained in maybe 4-8 weeks, and if you don't have official documents that they accept they'll send you a different registration form where your GP or other health professional could say that you're you (even though they probably couldn't recognise you in a line up). There are a few other options for who can endorse it. Lasts for 3 years, but you'll only need to register once.
Then you need proof of address which should be much more simple, so you're looking for a recent utility bill, or mobile phone bill, or bank statement. Maybe give them a ring? Pretty sure they're available Monday-Friday 9-5 at a minimum.

No problem whatsoever. Link to the ID requirements page.

If you have other documents that could be used for ID then Bittylicious had some manual verification thing ages ago (and presumably still do) where they'd look at bank statements and/or bills (I think?) to verify you and tick the KYC legislation box.

Yes. I use bittylicous. They're much more relaxed about KYC. It's a great service too. You can use your bank account and they'll never know (essential as I'm sure you know. Never let on to your bank that you're buying crypto). Anyway, It's a little bit clunky and takes a while to get used to, but works fine and you can send your coin wherever you want. No questions asked.

I tried using Voter ID on some sites but they weren't having any of it lol
thanks I'll look into Bittylicious

Yeah dude. I selected the crypto option on the transfer on my very first purchase! 🤦🏻♂️ Spent 30 minutes on the phone to the fraud department who grilled me when I was between night shifts. In the end he said he was 'mostly satisfied', removed the fraud flag and let the payment go through. Since then I've always clicked on 'Buying Physical Product', and haven't had an issue, even sending just under a grand at a time.
I hope I'm right in this assessment, but I'm happy with using Bittylicious as they're based on the Isle Of Man, they're (as you say) pretty lax about KYC and seem to do the bare minimum required, and state they won't start HMRC reporting until 2027, when I thought it was this tax year where it came into force?

Hi Rux
Not exactly, the exchanges have until 2027 to report transactions starting with Jan 2026.
So the risk is already there.

Yeah. They are now extremely picky where you send your property. No non-kyc wallets allowed.

They don't have to. Their attitude is now that if you must buy cryptocurrency, then it must be held in one of their all new wallets and cannot be transferred. All details will be compliant with HMRC.
This is if course all connected to their recent upgrade to Bank status. They want to keep that and do not want any accusations of facilitating the purchase of illegal drugs. Bastards.

do you know if they allow you to just do a transfer to an exchange? Would be a way around it. Oh and such bastards.
